This is how combat is in action games maybe with the exception of Mount & Blade. It makes the combat more tactical.

Blizzards big mistakes were ..

1) Not including an authenticator to cover their arses.

A hell lot of people who bought Diablo 3, also played previous games and most likely already have an authenticator!  Like me and everyone else I know who play games.

So why would I need another authenticator?  Every time you log into Battle.net you get face smacked regarding secuirty and the authenticator!

Every local gamestore also sells them for just 5 bucks!  Gamestop stores have them hanging in the shelves right next to Blizzard's games.

You must be really blind to miss all this.

1) I didn't say include one just for JeroKane.... sorry if I some how made it seem like I did.

2) I didn't ask if anyone sold the authenticators, I simply stated that it can likely bite then on the rear later down the road by not making it standard to send an authenticator with the game due to the nature of the game.

I dont like hero engine because of my experiences with it, but I have no idea if Zenimax will have those same problems with the engine if any at all like what TOR has (or had in some cases) for example. Graphics have nothing to do with this and are not comparable subject. The engine does not define the game, see Rift, Skyrim, and Warhammer online using the same engine but they are vastly different. If it would be announced that ESO will have similar graphics to WoW for example then the matter would be totally different since we all know how the game would look like, but right now you dont know what Zenimax can do with the engine, you cant predict it based on the engine choise.

Actually there have been screenshots since this afternoon and the game looks like TOR and RIFT, so yes I can make that judgement and yes it is a comparable subject because so far now BOTH Hero Engine games have the same graphic style and I dont like them so yes I can say the engine is poor.

 

You are just going on about how bad you think the engine is in your OP, nothing about graphics. So I replied that engine does not neccessarily mean that the game is like some other game that uses the same engine. Rift and Fallout: New Vegas uses the same engine, do they look the same? Play the same? No.

 

Also it still isnt comparable subject because even if two games look the same they dont have to run on the same engine, nor will the engine define the gameplay OR graphics to begin with. Lets say Blizzard announces that they are working on a new game using the hero engine, it does not mean that the game would have similar graphics to TOR or share the same gameplay.

Yes your correct, its doesnt nessecarily mean that, but unfortunately it is true that the game is using the same graphics as TOR and RIFT and that it will also feature the same gameplay from TOR, even the voice acting, which I talked about in my OP.

 

Trust me, its not that I dont get what your trying to say, a engine doesnt have to define a game, but unfortunately this engine does define the game as we have now seen from TOR and the forthcoming ESO. Im sure there will be differences because every game has to at least be a bit different, but at its core its a hero engine game and it suffers, especially under the IP.

 

So again I understand where your coming from, but unfortunately your just defending a bad engine for the sake of defending it.

Just for the record Rift is not using Hero Engine but a modified version of the Gamebryo engine. I'd also say hold judgement, they said they will present the game in June at E3 and August at Gamescom, even if it is trailers we can get a taste of what it will be like.

If by turn-based you mean typical MMO combat then yes but you will confuse a lot of people like the other poster. So not turn based at all.

Diablo3 is still a good action game worth buying and playing. But some fans will not think that is enough.

 

I don't agree. Some things had to change for example the fact that they added a real map instead of that overlay that D2 used and Path of Exile now uses. It's a bit annoying at least to me. That's not to say Path of Exile is bad, I've been playing it for a while but many of the changes Diablo 3 made are things that needed to change.

Finally, I can put all my mmo obligations aside and play Diablo once and for all. May 15th will be a holy day. A milestone in pc gaming.

Each skill has its different cooldown time. Guild Wars 2 isnt going to be a game where you can sit there and expect to win by pressing 1 all the time.  Macroing takes the fun out of games. I think my point is that it can be done, and people will do it no mater what, sure I agree it takes the fun and skill out of the game but that alone will not stop people from doing anything to gain the upphand.

In gw2 there are may ground targeted skill so those you can not macro, but you can indeed macro the combo skills and skills that have a cool down timer to other attacks like your no cost attack, in a nut shell a player can bind gw2 skills to 3 or less button vs 5 or more.

I hope you realise you do not win anything by macroing abilities. Even in WoW where the game promotes macroing per ser you hinder your own performance by macroing since the skill system has considerably changed since vanilla and is no longer viable for macroing. Anyone who macros will be doing his own self a disservice unless he is really lazy.

I actually like vanguard's graphics better - it is less shiny and more realistic, also the world is more open.

Tera is very detailed, very corourful in places, but it's just too much for me. What i really liked in tera is the fir trees in some areas.

And Aion is really A LOT like Tera.

But i guess good graphics = lots of flashy shiny stuff for you.

Vanguard and EQ2 have possibly the worst art style in MMOs. I'd rather say AoC if you want something that looks good and realistic but the world is not very open.

What graphics card are you running and what settings are you running Tera in?

I using a GTX 560 ti and even forced AA X8 and I never saw these amazing graphics, they are ok, as good as any other of the DX 9 games listed, but not as good as Aion's or FFXIV.

Im just not getting it, I mean yea there is detail, but the color palette and the skinning are just off. Is kinda nice that Tera doesnt mind if we reskin the game ourselves though : )

 

 

Lol, what? Tera has much better graphics than Aion and FFXIV. The only good graphics about Aion are the player models.

What I'm surprised by NCsoft and ArenaNet is how they managed to have a newer build AND translated in korean for Gstar and also based on this why they will not have a simultaneous launch in Korea. If it was not for this then I can see that translation could take up several months.

Kinda agree with Ozmodan here. MMORPG.com did launch RTSguru.com for RTS games. Not to annoy us (MMORPG players) with news we don't give a damn about...

Disagreed. This is most certainly not a strategy game and I despise strategy games so I don't want to visit RTSguru just for this game. I'd rather keep my relevant news in one place and I assume other readers also play this popular game, for the others all you have to do is skip 2 articles every week.
