My favorite part of season 1 was seeing the giant clockwork creatures for the first time in clockwork chaos. Seeing the giant mechanical monsters looming overhead while I was dodging fireballs being fired at me and having all of my co-heros fighting beside me was fantastic. I especially enjoyed the sound effects that they used. This was a great chapter of the living world.

I love the idea behind this neojack, Anything which can help indy developers get their ideas out should be commended. The ideas I have are for giving the indy developer the ability to give the  players more sandbox elements within the MMO

If you really want to make something which would allow cutting edge products to be developed how about...

- The ability for the player to be able to morph character skins by combination within the game (would allow 2 players to create a 'relative' NPC)

- The ability for the player to alter armor or weapons skins ( would allow for true crafting)

- Branching quest lines based on variables set by the indy developer

- The ability to randomize questline branches.

- Allow the player to be able to alter the landscape to some degree

- The ability to only have in game player crafted items as objects for loot.

- Programable AI with the ability for randomization within the AI

- The ability to use a 3rd person camera angle for the developer to make cut scenes.

In general anything which will allow the developer to put out a product in which the player can also use their creativity will inject some new life into the MMO genre.

It's easy to say "oh this happened to just a game reviewer", but just wait. This is only the beginning. Use of the automated system is a new way of censoring the internet. If you post something on youtube they are now able to flag it whether there is any merit to the flag or not and therefore censor the points of view on any topic that youtube does not agree with.

Angry joe needs to do this in a way that you tube will understans. He needs to sue you tube.

I think he has a lot of merit to his legal arguement. If there are any lawyers out there that could help him out probono it would be great.

Not only that, but we need to make clear that we will not spend money onthe  game forums for companies who are flagging other peoples review videos  and trying to obtain the revenue from them. If those companies did not flag those videos then they'd better figure out who did while using their company name and do it quickly.

I don't agree with Donpopuki above. Ive got the NVidia glasses with a mitsubishi big screen going and its great!

The trick is that not all 120 hz TVs will work. The ones listed by NVIDIA were true 120 hz TVs that worked well with the system.

I love it for the MMOs. LOTRO has great scenery, GW2 works well but I have to do 1 or 2 extra steps for that game before launching it. I don't have to do it for other games though. Skyrim is really good as well. The only things that get screwed up are the shadows in some games are at the wrong depth. GW 2 frames per second slows a little in 3D but nothing drastic. You might have to turn up the brightness of the TV but again this is minor.

I dont get headaches from it and it really adds alot when you are looking out over vast vistas. I'm always in 3D when I'm exploring.

A few of the posters in here and on other GW2 discussions have complained about the lack of progression...

If you remember GW1 had it's top level at level 20 which you reached fairly early on. Really level 20 is where the real game began. I see that as arena net taking away the emphasis on player levels and instead wanting people to play for reasons other than leveling up.

One difference though was that GW1 had the signet of capture in which you were able to learn new skill from dead bosses throughout the PvE world. That gave you a sense that you were still progressing even though you were at max level.

If Arena-net would allow us to capture elite weapons which were new types of weapons with totally new skills, or allow us to learn new skills from NPCs in certain situations then this would help to continue progression after max level.

This video sold me on everquest next.

I've got ideas in my head about what things look like that I want to build. Up until this point I wasn't convinced about the flexibility of the system but now I'm convinced.

In regards to "time stealing".. These games will only take up the amount of time which you give them. If you choose to give them your time then it's not stealing.

Also some of us use these games as a way to relax. I think that having a way to blow off steam after working likely makes me more productive when I am at my job. Everyone needs some downtime and this is how I choose to get it as opposed to being indoctrinated by the television.

In regards to the economic injustice that you perceive in real life and in the games, There is only one solution for that... You need to learn to be thankful for the things you have and not envious of others.

Two things to remember.. No matter who you are there will always be someone who has more than you and over 1/2 the world lives on less than $4000 per year.

I'm excited for this content, and only I know what the Krait are transforming into....

Sleestaks!!

A decline in PC sales? Two words... Windows 8.

A few things I'd like to see...

1. Areas near water in WvW in which you could pan for a unique crafting material only when your server owned that area. You could also set up sluice boxes, azuran mining equipment etc. When you take it over from another server you would destroy their mining operation.

2. Bar fights please- Breaking furniture over each others heads and jabbing each other with broken bottles. Now that would be a real norn mini-game.

3. Results of battles changing the environment- I agree with the article on this one. If you can't destroy the dragon let it fly over and torch a town. Now you have to put out the fires, rebuild the city and defend it from bandit looters. Now those would be some consequences!

I've got no problems with Purutzils post. He tried it, he didn't like it and thats fine.

I agree with him that now's the time when people can form there own opinion of the game for free instead of reading what everyone else thinks.

I've really enjoyed it and it's got a great living story chapter going on right now. When I find something I enjoy I try to share it with others.

Anybody who's still on the fence about trying out the game can check it out this weekend for free.

https://register.guildwars2.com/trial

I've been playing it for a year and having a lot of fun with it. Check it out.

Puritzul- "Amazing how a movie can reach not only children, but adults and do so far better then any "mature" movie has done lately with gritty scenes and 'adult' content? Its fine for you not to like an art style, trust me, its not a big deal."

I agree that you can have empathy for characters whether its in a cartoon or not. Overall I think that the artwork in the environment is beautiful. Everquest landmark is also a fantastic idea. Everquest next will be successful .But the avatar that you make has to be something you can relate to.

I can watch 'Up' and be emotionally moved by the characters. Do I want the character that I play for hundreds of hours to look like the grandpa from up?... I dont think so.

In general I'm a fairly happy person. But in my MMO I don't want to play a character that looks like a cartoon.

I understand that the enlarged facial features may make it easier to see emotions and I understand the uncanny valley arguement. But this games facial features go so far back off from the realistic side of uncanny valley that they have fallen right off of  cartoon gulch.

This game will be successfull. But it would be more successfull if they changed the facial features.

If you can't relate to your avatar then this is a major immersion breaker.

I'm in the 40+ crowd. The creative outlet that everquest landmark would give is very appealing but I just don't know If I'll play Everquest Next.

I just can't get over the 'cartoony' faces of the characters. I'll probably build things in Landmark and not play Everquest Next which is a shame because I really like a lot of the ideas incorperated into the game.

Ultimately if you can't relate to your own avatar, then this is a major immersion breaker.

Possibly a new PvP tournament area worked into the living story? Would be great if we could control the crowd noises while in spectator mode. (to control the booing or cheering of the crowd during others single PvP play sessions)

Weedman 81, Based on your original post I think you are running into two issues...

1. Novel experiences are fun- We are novelty seeking animals. The reason why the 1st MMO seemed like so much fun is because it was a novel experience which you had never experienced before. Subsequent MMOs had elements which you recognized from prior MMOs and therefore were not novel experiences and therefore not fun.

2. More stuff does not result in a more fullfilled life- Within the pseudo-lives in MMOs as in real life, acquiring more things does not result in automatic happiness. Wealth does increase freedom but does not bring happiness. Working for a cause larger than yourself and serving others results in fullfillment. In a way the MMOs have taught you an important lesson about real life.

Adam, one thing you've got to realize.

In life you have builders and destroyers. You see it from a very early age. The kindergardner who builds with his blocks and the one who knocks them down.

Later in life the builders continue to build but with different mediums (writing an article, buidling an MMO,etc) and the destroyers continue to destroy, now using their words instead of their hands.

Everyone can criticize, few can build.

The foundry comes so close....

The one thing that they could change with the foundry which would change the whole game would be to enable branching story-lines. They already allow branching lines of dialog. If they could just do the same for the story lines.... Having non-linear quests could make a big difference with this game.

It would also be nice to have the ability to have an element of randomization within the storylines as well.

One bug I've noticed is that when a map is copied, If one object has interactions on the original map all of the objects in the copy of the map will have all of the interactions from the original map.

First off I really enjoy the biweekly updates and appreciate the effort which would have to be put into putting out that many updates.

But I think that the developers are dealing with a disconnect with their player base as to the meaning of "living world". I think that many players when they hear this thought that there would be more environmental changes to the PVE maps due to the events and instead we are getting small storylines and dungeons (which have been very good)

When I hear "living world" I think maybe sometime I'll come through queensdale and see the buildings destroyed due to a dragon attack and dealing with the aftermath of that (as an example). I think we were expecting more permanent changes to the PVE landscape.Thats part of what made GW1 so good. You saw an event that permanently changed the landscape, therefore it made pre-searing look that much better in hindsight.
