In life there is not such thing as free and so far all (have tried most in past) F2P just confirm this.

Thought this site and many other web site with info is free. I have played many F2P's without spending any money.

Im looking forward to this game. I like to try nation war and the fairy companion feature.

I enjoy both the gameplay and graphics very much.

Think im going to play this game a lot.

I had also hoped it would have been released a lot sooner to the western world

I often hear people looking for a different game. What I think they mean is a different and GOOD game.

There are lots of different games like Atlantica Online, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Ryzom and EVE.

So why do all those looking for a different game not go to a existing different game ?. I think it can only be because they are blind or they dont think those different games are good.

I think those people should be more precise in what they really are looking for.

I played the webzen beta few days ago. I think the graphics is cool and it was fun and easy to play. Got almost to level 15.

I noticed that one of the maps was used both as instance and persistent. Is there much reuse of maps ? and how annoying is that ?

I have heard from those playing asian version that there is a lot of grind in game. I wonder if they have removed some of the grind in the western version or if no one have played enough of western version to see the grind yet.

Thought this was going to be f2p. At least the graphics dont look like high quality to me.

Its always as if the devs gets surprised when bots and spammers enter their game. Wonder why they dont try harder to prevent it already in the design phase.

RF Online is still alive and ArchLord will also still be alive. Others companies will host them in previous Codemasters areas.

Codemasters is also hosting DDO in Europe. Turbine have stated though that they want to bring their games (LOTRO and DDO) back home to Turbine.

From the FAQ ( www.guildwars2.com/en/faq/ ):

Will Guild Wars 2 be an MMO?

Yes. Guild Wars 2 provides a massive, online persistent world.

How is Guild Wars 2 different from other MMOs?

While Guild Wars 2 adds a persistent-world experience, it retains the unique characteristics of the original game, including strong narrative, extensive instanced gameplay, anti-grind design philosophy, and strong support for competitive play.

Nice video.

It even made me watch all the episodes.

1. Guild Wars 2

2. The Day

3. C9

I tried City of Heroes and it didnt apeal to me. To me all super hero games look and play the same to me.

So I have long time ago decided not to play any of those kind of game.

It seems for some players that items shops are creations of the devil whatever form the shops will have and most be avoided at all cost.

Others are more open minded.

But with both co-founders gone....I dont see GW2 coming out now

David Reid is not co-founder of ArenaNet

Any other co-founder than Jeff Strain leaving or left ?

How do the current top 10 list for 2009 look like ?

I doubt City of Heroes is on current top 10 list, so I doubt any super hero games will be on the 2012 list. They almost look the same to me.

I also think there will be more than 2 asian mmo on the 2012 list. I have the feeling that the asian developers finaly understands what the players of the world wants.

I still have high hopes for The Day from Reloaded Studios even though there havent been any news from them for almost a year.

From Gamasutra:

"According to SOE representatives, Smedley announced that Free Realms was "close to" reaching the 5 million milestone, but has not yet reached it"

Its a long time since I last played. I think you forgot to mention that you can modify you skills. Like more power at the cost of less range.

You can also create you own quests with a editor. Never tried that part though.

It was my first MMO, I was in the beta.

It is a fun game. But I just have more fun playing other MMO's.

I guess maybe there is too many new and strange things in the game. Also the graphics looks a bit outdated and I have never been a fan of monthly fee. Servers closing and opening many times have not helped either.

Not even sure if i would play it much if it was f2p.

If you read the e-mail with the key code it will maybe have info about if was for one event or them all.

I think they made an exception to second beta and let one-event-key from CB1 be allowed to play CB2.

I think the chance is bigger if you play on US server and not EU server. I dont know which server you play on.

Codemasters that run the EU server has no plan to make DDO f2p, AFAIK.

Well i have this list of things I dislike in Aion:

  1. Far too much running. Too few teleports, the distance between them is too big.
  2. The armor for low level is boring and almost colorless.
  3. The characters, landscape and buildings look realistic, but many mobs and npc's look like they have escaped from Disney Land.
  4. My ranger was not always able to turn around and shoot at target behind.
  5. The crafting is boring. They could have made it more fun with like adding more crafting quests
  6. At level 14 i only had higher level quests too do. So the choice is: do hard quests or grind to next level.
  7. No support for Add-on's like in WoW or Runes of Magic. The devs are arrogant if they think they have made the perfect user interface.
  8. The effects in combat i have seen from higher level are far too exaggerated. Hard to see whats actually going on in the fight.
  9. The weapon size also get too exaggerated and flashing. With the new weapons you look like a small lighthouse. Seems the only way for them to make weapons more cool is make them larger and more flashing. Please take a look at picture. How larger and how flashy will they make the next sword that has higher level than this ?.

The game is fun and worth playing, but for me it dont have that extra joy that makes it worth paying for compared to many f2p mmo's.

Heroic Sword in Version 1.5

The question is not if its a MMORPG or not. The question is: "Is it a fun game". The anwser is: "Yes". At least for me.

Played it for almost 4 years, both PvE and PvP. I would say that the game WAS underrated. With almost no new content or improvement then it starts feeling old compared to (other) MMO's.

It still feels and look right: Not cartoonish like WoW, and the visual effects and weapon size are not exaggerated like they are in many Asian MMO.

I think many players would return if they knew what bonus they will get in GW2 for the titles they get in GW1.

I was able to make my ranger shoot arrows at target while my ranger was running. But only with standard attack not skills. My ranger could even turn upper body around to shoot backwards at target while running as far as I remember.

But my ranger had trouble turn around and shoot at target behind with skills, even if my ranger was standing. Succeeded sometimes and failed other times.

Dont know if this is by design or a bug.
