Well, I tried the beta today, and I was very disappointed with the combat.  Combat and movement felt clunky and slow, to the point that after a half hour of really trying to get used to it, I had to turn it off.  The combat system is very slow and unresponsive and needs to be revamped.  The animations are horrible and the graphics look like something out of a poorly drawn cartoon. I really wanted to like this game, as it has several neat features, but I just can't get past the movement (and no its not my computer, I have an I7 with high end HD radion graphics card).  Guess I will be continuing to play that other game that just came out.

This game doesn't require a great PC maybe it's time to upgrade, "that other game" will probably run a lot worse on your computer if you are having problems with Wildstar. Combat is fast and fun, highly responsive due to the dodge feature.

[mod edit]

I have been gaming since gaming was born, Wildstar is well worth a box price and sub. I would much rather have a sub, usually keeps out more unwanted elements.

I am so bored with theme parks, the game is ok but paying a sub. no way.

when you hit 50 after one moth then what, and after doing to only 4 dungeons then what.

enjoy I am waiting for EQN and ESO + destiny and darks souls 2 will keep me busy till then.

if you think the game is good enough for you enjoy.

the repopulation will be totally free and better.

Just FYI gaming is completely subjective, hence why I didn't mention any other MMO. This game has many features that EQN and ESO will never have and vice versus. ESO, EQN, and Repop are completely different gaming experiences so to even compare them or call them "better" just makes everything you say moot.

I played ESO and it is a good game, I am in The Repop alpha testing and it will be fun.

Wildstar's experience greatly varies from the experience you will get from those 2 games. I have had more fun in this past beta of Wildstar than I have in any game I have recently played, not saying those games are worse and that Wildstar is better, that argument people make about games being better or worse is either troll or just shows how low a level of intellect the person has making the remark.

Wildstar is a very lighthearted and comedy filled funhouse w/ some very deep and immersive features.

I was able to further experience the housing this morning and I have to say that it was AWESOME. Some of the additions you can make and the plot features make housing much more than just a vanity feature. You can set a crafting station so you don't have to deal with the bustle of city life. You can set up different resource plots to help your crafting path. I built a jumping puzzle and that was really cool, a little mini-game on your land. The amount of stuff you can do with the housing plot is really quite fun.

I'll start by saying that I was biased when I first saw this game. I didn't really care for the cartoony gfx that I have looked at for years with WoW. The game seemed very generic in many ways and maybe a bit clunky. I was completely turned off by the game, I have followed it a bit but never intended to play.

A friend of mine bugged me to play again in the beta this weekend and I have to be honest, it was a very pleasant experience.

I think what Wildstar does well is combine a lot of what people like in the MMO genre into this title. There really isn't anything new or innovative, but there is a lot of features that people have come to enjoy in past MMOs.

Graphics:

If you go into this game knowing and enjoying cartoony graphics then you will thoroughly love this game. I for one have always been in love with a gritty more dark type of atmosphere but I can honestly say I am enjoying this games graphics.

Combat:

The combat is fun. Having to actually aim and move to get out of the way of people attacks and abilities gives combat a much better feeling than just simply tabbing and then button mashing. The amount of skills is somewhat limited but that becomes an afterthought with the intensity and enjoyment of the fights.

Questing:

The questing does contain your basic go kill x many of this or collect x many of that but littered through all that are very enjoyable quests. Many are unique and will make you laugh or get angry at the opposing faction.

PvP:

The PvP is actually pretty fun. There is a good variety of options to begin with I can only imagine things getting better. I think the warplots are great but do need some work. PvP in general needs some work but al in all I am very satisfied with it.

Environment:

The environment in Wildstar is amazing, there is a lot going on all around. NPCs, creatures, enemies, and buzzing and bustling around, leaves falling, bugs zooming around, machines working, and so much I could not even begin to cover it.

Crafting:

I don't particularly like crafting and my experience in this was limited but from the quests I did do and the few things I made I actually think Wildstar's crafting system would is not as painful as others and adds a lot of customization and a bit of fun to the process.

Customization:

There is a load of different types of customizations in this game from your home, land plots, character, and vehicles. I love when games allow people to be slightly creative and unique. I watched a video of a guy that put a really nice house together, reminded me of SWG days.

Character progression and skills:

There isn't a huge variety of skills and such but there is a nice amount of customization and refinement within the skils, I rather like this method. I would like to have more of a selection but it's far from gamebreaking.

Conclusion:

I pre-ordered the game. It's a very enjoyable MMO with some great features. I feel that a lot of people with thoroughly enjoy this game for a long time. If your looking for some great new experience you won't find it in Wildstar, if your looking for a very enjoyable MMO and seems like it will have some longevity, it's worth a go.

This game is great, it takes a lot of really liked features and compiles them together. Think of a vanilla wow with features from just about every MMO in the past 10 years put into it. Nothing innovative but everything that just about everyone liked is in this MMO. I never even gave this game a second thought until a friend of mine bugged me to play the beta today and I have to say they did a great job bringing the best of all the worlds into one MMO. I actually just pre-ordered the deluxe edition a few minutes ago after playing the beta for some hours.

I have played all 3.

Hearthstone: Very fun, if your fairly successful and can win 7-3 games you can run arenas and make quite a bit of profit for cards for free, can spend some $$ and be very happy. I think the people that are bored with it are the ones who played CBT, I have been playing for a couple months and still am enjoying playing around with decks. More simplistic than the other 2 but feels faster and more intense.

Infinity Wars: I didn't play for very long but I found it to be overly complex, I think the devs were trying a little too hard.

MMDoC: This is definitely for the more traditional MTG player vs the other 2. Enjoyable though.

Hearthstone definitely has a larger population than the other 2.

All 3 will have the element of paying players having an edge over the non-paying.

If you want to stick with traditional MTG style go with MMDoC, if you want something new and fresh go with Hearthstone. I would try them all since they are F2P and decide for yourself.

Each deck has the potential OP with some specific cards.

- Hunters are annoying overall apart of arena because of the great synergy with beasts, traps and call of the hound combos.

- Mages are one of the most annoying and can be very OP usually vs good people you will see them stalling your creatures and saving cards. That means they are saving their fireballs and/or pyroblasts to kill you without needing creatures. (Ps The class with the most damaging spells also has secrets to stop enemy spells from being cast)

- Priests will make you tear your hair off unless you have a lot of 4 attack creatures (Their only weakness) else they can do buffs with high hp creatures to turn their attack same as their hp which usually means instant loss. They also have cheap removals, heals, sliences (0 cost!!) and of course mind control the most rage inducing card of all BUT there's more! They also have creatures that can take creatures from your side and an other spell that takes control of 1 creature for that turn only.

Plus I almost forgot they also have the ability to take copies from your deck/hand too!

- Shamans beware of shamans, if you see them stacking cards that could mean they are going to do a x2 rock biter + windfury combo (rock biter = +3 attack for that turn, windfury = attack twice) Never let them have many creatures as they also have a spell that gives all friendly creatures +3 attack for the turn.

- Paladin I find these have the least viable OP decks in my opinion BUT that doesn't mean they don't have any. They have good buffs that can make creatures from weak into dangerous, divine shield makes them immune from damage once and plenty of good endgame spell cards.

- Warlock they have a ton of combos thanks to their power of drawing cards. There's the most popular murlock decks which are annoying but doable if you know what to do, giants deck which can be very dangerous and there's the demon deck which while they have weaknesses they compansate it with high attack.

- Druid the least class used in my opinion. Their spells are quite highish in cost but they have a spell that costs 0 to gain 2 additional mana for this turn or spells to increase your mana crystals permanently. They have high damaging taunts and are the only class I believe with creatures and spells that have a choice of 2 things to do. (For example do 5 damage on one creature or 2 on all, summon a 3/2 creature or give all friendly creatures +1/+1 etc etc)

- Warrior after being nerfed they aren't seen much.

I myself like them and play an enrage charge deck combo but they can be hard to play since they don't have much removals and no good aoe so I don't know what to say on this, just beware of one specific creature (Well there's more but this one is the top) if you see a 2/3 creature that has text written that it gives charge to other minions DESTROY IT or it's pain for you.

That's it I think.

This guy doesn't know what he is talking about, btw. Control Warriors are probably one of the most played classes, Watcher/Token druids are played quite a bit as well, Shamans are extremely, not effective, unless you really know how to play the class, Mages are hit or miss as well depending on who is playing them, Warlock are the most popular class and people mainly play Handlock (Giant) or Zoo (aggro) you might see a murloc deck here and there, and the only thing he may have said that was true is that Paladins sort of blow right now. Hunters are used quite a bit due to unleash the hounds and how cheap the decks can be made and Rogues depending on the person again can be devastating.

There really isn't any OP class although many might try to make claims.

Priest is probably the least successful deck yet there are a few people who manage to be on top of the rankings using them. The game is actually fairly balanced. You may get frustrated at the start of this game getting pummeled by people with a more extensive repertoire of cards, but that is just par for the course.

The meta also shifts a lot as you move through ranks. Rank 25-15 you will see a lot of rush/aggro decks, 15+ you will start to see more mid-range/control decks with quite a few rush/aggro decks in the mix. Once you get into legend you will see considerably less rush/aggro and quite a bit more control decks and you will start to see more deck variations.

Learning all the cards in the game and their synergies with other cards is your goal, play all the classes to at least get all their basic cards and learn them a bit.

Don't get frustrated if you get knocked out in turn 4 by a UtH Hunter or Warlock Murloc, the game does have the element of luck and sometimes you will just get a bad draw nd someone will draw from the gods and wipe you quick, happens to everyone, even the pros. If you have trouble making decks you can always netdeck Trumps, Reynads, or Tidesoftime; I started out using their decks with a measure of success before I started making my own.

I know that the hype meter is borked and always has been but the fact that this game is #1 in development just makes me think how much the people at mmorpg.com are, well, lets just leave it at that before I get myself banned.

So let people that pay extra get extra perks. People who feel they should get everything that someone else pays more for is insane. Anywhere, any product, anything' the man with more money gets more, how is a video game any different. If you want to play the race, pay for it, if not be happy with what you get, otherwise, shut your mouth. The tears flowing because of this game and the decisions Bethesda has made makes me think that game companies should just go back to keeping everything secret and just making people pay to see what they have created.

Bunch of little poor school girls = majority of mmorpg.com

drugs affect the brain.... if there is one.

Anyway, how much did Zenimax pay you to completely miss the whole point in this issue? In a F2P game where the person with more money wins, its a Pay to Win garbage. TESO is subscription + box price. Theres no such thing as "the man with more money gets more" in a subscription game. Everyone is on equal footing because thats what their mandatory subscription is there for, to avoid the big p2w problem where one player can pay for advantages over another one. Stop being playing the braindead zombie and see the point. We get it that you are a fanboi of Zenimax, but that doesnt mean you have to be this ridiculous to accept all this crap they want to pull off. That is just a scam and you are blindly falling for it, unless you work at Zenimax and are trying to prey on the gullibles....

I'm the OP so I created the thread and make my own points. The point of the thread and of that statement was in fact about the box price, the higher one, the one that comes with more stuff, the stuff that people are complaining they won't get unless they pay more for it. Try harder.

Selling a game is just like any other business, it's about profit, and people like me are profitable. Gullible, not really, I have disposable income that would otherwise be unused, why not drop it on my hobby. I honestly don't like P2W games such as: Silkroad, Aurora World, Eden Eternal, etc.

What people are crying about in regards to P2W is absurd and those tears will keep flowing from the people who don't want to pay while those of us who do pay will have a smile and tralalalala.

Exactly! Cause you know... exclusive like an artbook or statues for box copies aren't really exclusive... and exclusive pets and mounts aren't exclusive. Nah, those exclusives aren't exclusive, its only exclusive if its obviously something that should effect game balance in some form for a subscription based game where its suppose to provide a balanced play area!

Totally, why can't other games make real exclusives like their fake exclusives they pitch that only their CE players get thats not really exclusive despite the fact that it.... is....

Okay I give up. Do you realize how silly you sound saying people get something exclusive when its something that every CE does, it just happens to be in this case a rather poor choice attempting to bait people into buying it since you know, Race holds an actual effect on game play rather then just some little cosmetic trinket?

^^

BK Burger - Shit beef, soggy lettuce & tomato, and crappy bun - $2

Bone Fish Burger - Kobe beef, fresh lettuce & tomato, avocado, hand-made roll. - $18

Fiero - tiny, crap, so, sounds like a lawn mower - $20,000

Ferrari - fast, well built, fast, sounds wicked, and fast - $200,000

Standard Gym Membership - Track, weights, nautilus equipment, shower if your lucky.

Wellness Center Membership - Tennis courts, basketball courts, pool, racquetball courts, squash courts, jacuzzi, sauna, etc...

Public Healthcare - LOL - Free

Private Healthcare - I'm all better thanks for asking - Paid

Why should gaming be any different than the rest of life. Pay more, get more, if that doesn't compute your screwed.

Life is essentially pay to win, but on the side note peoples view of pay to win is totally out of wack. A ring that gives a small boost to xp with a friend is not pay to win. A staff that melts your face that I buy at lvl 1 that you can't get till lvl 80, that's pay to win.

I think that the pre-order CE for this is great. There is finally a truly exclusive reward for contributing to the development and success of a game. I think people who pay for early-access, pre-order, or in any way show support for a game before it comes out should get something for their contribution.

Cheers Bethesda.

They take a dump all over the game we loved then want us to come back, Smedley can bite me. Support The Repopulation and get everything that once was SWG and better.
I have to say that the game in the video does look like a steaming pile compared to a lot of other games that have come out with less of a budget.
That shit was hilarious. This almost plays out like some spoof or skit of Napoleon Dynamite trying to do a promo

Istaria, formerly know as Horizons, I believe has a really intricate player crafted housing system. It came out before WoW so it's a bit dated.
