Hey guys/gals,i'll get to the point, since it's late night.

Ok, so here's my story:i'm having a BLAST playing Neverwinter with a friend of mine, beautiful atmosphere, nice graphics for an old engine, good action

Why disgusting? you may ask?,well here's what happened.I'm level 55 Trickster Rogue,my friend is the same level,Guardian Fighter class(yes, he does not have any problem tanking, actually he can tank perfectly in dungeons). We wanted to join a level 55 dungeon, which is the one from Underdark.

We entered,we said "Hi/Hello".Nobody said a single WORD(not the first time that happened in the game).Ok....We began working our way into the depths of Underdark, until the Control Wizard from the party charges alone to a cluster of mobs without letting the tank go first(EVERY CW with i've been with has done that),then,OBVIOUSLY he dies in a matter of seconds. Thanks to him we almost wipe.

Words of the CW:fucking idiots attack

Me:finally someone decided to talk

CW: shut the fuck up kid

Ok....i know where this is going...we continued like nothing happened there(of course no one said a word after that). We arrived at 1 of the bosses, killed him,a rare dagger (blue)level 56 dropped, but the Cleric of the group decided to press the need button.

I asked him/her why did he/she need it,the answer was: "mine lol".After that i told him/her need it more than him/her,since i have a level 46 green dagger and obviously,i'm the only rogue on the party. And yeah that's called a ninja...

The next answer was: oh the drama right? lol

Friend of mine: What the fuck are you doing? give the dagger to my friend,he needs it more than you do

Me: it's ok, this is like playing with bots lol

No response after that.Ok,i understand that he/she may be want the dagger for selling it at the AH,but where's the "kindness" in this party? i mean,i would let the rogue have the dagger if i were the Cleric.

After all that, we finally get to the last boss, we kill him,i leave the party without saying anything.Of course, they don't deserve any "goodbye" or anything like that.

I log off the game after that(2:35 a.m),when my friend tells me via Steam, that this guys started telling him this:

Player:does your gay friend wants the dagger? i can give it to him.NOT

Friend (he was still in the party): "so you got a blue dagger. please type it in your curriculum, and  tell it to your mom, so you can get a cookie"

He got insta-kicked.

So what i'm saying is this: WHAT THE F00K?. I've never seen a behavior like that...not even in GW2(and no, i don't play WoW since 2008). Is this is what i "missed"?....holy shit...

If this is what the furure holds in Neverwinter..well...time to say goodbye,if i want to play with bots, i'll play Dragon's Dogma..thank you very much.

PD:It seems i did a wall of text... oh well.. i hope you guys enjoyed.

tbh this is what you get when you don't have a sub based community and a f2p game that was handed to people like candy at no cost.literally anyone can d/load and play this game.chances are you got some nerdy 10 yr old lol.been in a couple of pugs in neverwinter myself but have not come across that type doubt I will.i just leave the party and look for another thing  will say..don't let the twat put you off enjoying a good game.

been playing this game a lot recentely after a bit burnt out.atm thoroughly enjoying myself..have not reached lvl cap with 1 character highest is lvl 66 hunter, then lvl 60 warrior, lvl 60 elementalist.
its just like any other too much you get burnt out..but all in all I prefer this game to WOW..its the same type of game but the community is a lot better.

To me it is also a jewel. But alas the masses have spoken and what they wanted, and time revealed it was not VG, was Theme parks. They wanted easy, predictable, accessible, less time consuming design that in the end demands less of the gamer. The gameworlds themselves die, they loose their mystery, we know what is comming around next corner, and why should we care? Whatever we find will be something that we will be able to run over blindfolded, and if a miracle should happen and we die, then we respawn 5 yards away - and this time there is just no way you will make that huge a mistake.

I could not disagree more.   Numbers at launch for this game were huge, because alas the masses spoke!  This is the kind of game we wanted!   All of us of swarmed Telon and were indeed met with a wonderful game,  I would argue one of the best worlds since the original Norrath, however it was so deeply masked and hidden behind spiderwebs of bugs, poor optimization, numerous crashes, and oh yeah, a barebone dev team just months after launch.   Unlike games now where people spam general chat about how terrible the game is before they rage quit, the common ringing in my ear (err chatbox) was how terrible the optimization was and the bugs, and the stabilization of the client.   The classes were the last in-depth classes we have seen in MMOs, one of the last games to feature over 10 uniquely different classes at launch (not SWTOR's 4 cloned classes to call it 8).   It had everything we always are whining and begging for on these forums....except for a half stable launch.

If this game proves anything, its not that we want theme parks like WoW, it is that a botched launch and poor optimization can utterly ruin a game right out of the gates.

I agree..on launch there were about 500,000 people bought this game and it had tons of servers..only problem was the game was broken..most of the stuff didn't work..saying that though..the world was beautiful and huge.its an explorers paradise.the crafting was amazing and still is..the character models were bad but you could tolerate that because of what the game was.i would dearly love for someone to make a game like this again with so much depth..and completely open world.

Vanguard was doomed from the start.  There were some serious problems going on behind the scenes.  What was miraculous was that they actually got SOE to outright buy Vanguard.  SOE already had one flop-fest on their hands with SWG and it looked like the just bought another one.  That, and the fact EQ2 was barely saved, really made SOE look bad.

They actually turned Vanguard into a solid game.  Obviously that never translated into any tangible sales.  This is the game people point to where you can say "you give a MMO a month or two and once people leave they do not come back".  People usually came back to SWG because it was Star Wars.  No one came back to Vanguard.  It's dead Jim.

Vanguard was more similar to original EQ than any other MMO at that point.  That was the whole point of the game, to go back to what original EQ did so well.  Depending on groups.  You could solo some (now you can solo up to the highest level) but back in the day you really had to group or it was slim pickens.

Vanguard had severe technical problems that rivaled SWG.  Actually, those problems outdid SWGs problems because they actually fixed that game.  They never really fixed Vanguard.  They had to re-do some of the graphical meshes because they really messed up performance.  The races sort of changed, it was not as customizable as it was on release.

But there were two problems that game had and still has today.  The chunking problem (when you loaded different areas) was an eyesore as well as the object loadings in view.  It was very small and things would just pop into view right in front of your eyes.  The game does not hold up well today, unlike other MMOs of that era.

But if you could get past the technical glitches, you had an excellent game at its core.  Three ways to level.  Adventure, Craft or the totally unique (and awesome) Diplomacy.  Sure, the crafting and diplomacy were not finished until much later but it was a lot of fun to be just a crafter or diplomat.  Vanguard crafting is still one of the great crafting systems in any MMO.  It is not on the level of SWG or EVE or Horizons, but its only one step lower.

But the true greatness of Vanguard was the class system.  It had, and still has, some of the best classes and class mechanics of any MMO.

And the best was the healers.  Up to that point, playing a healer was awful.  Vanguard made healers fun.  The Blood Mage was a squishy, cloth wearer who had unique heal/buff transfers.  The Shaman was a wonderful class, alot like WOW's Druid/Shaman classes.  The Cleric was the standard heavy armor wearing cleric but could actually tank a bit.  And one of the great MMO classes of all time was the Disciple, a monk/healer hybrid.

No game since has had as good healer classes as Vanguard, not even close.  The other classes were very well done, but the Healer classes were s stroke of genius.

Boats, three big continents, open world housing also were there but other games had those.  You played Vanguard because you wanted to be challenged like you were in EQ.

totally agree..I would love to see this game made again .same areas ,same classes, same races, same starting areas.but it will never happen..had the best 2 yrs of my gaming life playing this game..which for me was a miracle considering I wanted to play this after getting sick of WOW.

I was kind of hoping eqnext would be like this..well it might be in difficulty but that will be the only thing that's the same.

i bought gw2 on release but never really bothered with it because i was playing TSW..just went back to it and found loads at starter and mid lvl areas over the last fortnight
have to say i,m kind of disappointed with the fact you cant sub to the game..i would prefer that.f2p is ok but i prefer sub..they should have included this option in the game..only thing they are going to do is drive people away with the costs in the zen shop..they are ridiculously high atm..but no doubt in time when people start moving away from the game they will lower the prices.

This game has a severe balance issue, healer that get insane aggro, guardian that are not able to manage aggro or even do DPS. The game is fun so far, but i leave it for now till they address those issues.

yeah agreed..i have a guardian fighter and healer companion..i can mark a mob and keep the agro on that one..then taunt the others but within 2 secs i've lost the agro seems to be enough atm..but i,m dreading getting to 40+..especially if i cant lvl my companion any further than 15 atm..he will get buttfucked in 2 hits later on.

Have to say i,m having a blast with this game.the foundry missions are excellent has well as the guys who do respect to those guys and girls whoever you are.died twice so far but only through my own stupidity.i,m only lvl 26 guardian fighter.only one thing though..i need to find a UK based guild because i,m not getting in many group dungeons..other than that..not spent a penny yet and i would say well done cryptic.

yeah but there all gold sellers

wow..denise was beautiful in Next Generation..she still looks damn good
wow that place looked like an area in vanguard just outside a main city called khal.really nice

i find it amazing when peeps complain about games and call them p2w.they give you a game for nothing, they dont charge a sub has a downside they ae a store with lockboxes..this hardly makes it dont have to purchase if you dont want to and you   till get the full game and foundry to play...just no pleasing anyone these days..and also please tell me how they are suppooed t et some money back with all the millions invested.all the risk is theirs.dont like it then dont pay..but one thing is for sure i'll still be playing.

that was not aimed at you OP btw.

Huzzah??? expansion too soon? I bet 1/2 the community hasnt even finished getting RoR raid gear ..what used to be a free update seems to me moved to the "Expansion" catagory, “With Helm’s Deep we bring the War of the Ring to you on a monumental scale" Kinda feels like mounted combat when they announced it... and look at the condition its in... i dont see why everyone gets so excited about this, its just more "features" that will need fixing, that wont ever be polished... think im over reacting!? ..its all in the track record.. Draigoch, Mounted combat, and now i BET YOU, Helms deep will be broken, & heavily monitized... even for VIPS! Save you money people! get it on sale after release..

well your right about not completing all of rohan on all my chars.dont know if i,m as pesimistic has you but i will give it a go.what i dont like is the speed these are coming just get adjuted to the lvl your atand then this again.thats why i never ever go for end game gear..i just do the content what i can and fuck the raids.

i already knew about the class changes but has i say too quick.mounted combat i like fact i would like a lot more of it.10 more lls though..its all getting a bit too much too quick.

dragon age origins is one of my favourite games..atm £4.99 on steam and its the ultimate edition which means expansion included.cant go wrong with that..i have about 150 hrs spent on this game so far..3rd time playing it.

Enjoy while it lasts, we can't know ofc for certain how will Turbine revamp the classes, but since they keep talking about simplification, probably wardens would be affected a bit more than the easier classes.

I didn't play my warden since Isengard though... maybe I should dust her off a bit, the only problem is I don't want to waste time with refreshening my memories of the gambits, if the system will change in the near future. I'm lazy :)

from what i have heard all they are doing is simplifying the skills..what i mean is there are a lot of skills that a lot of classes dont use so i think its more of a case of combining to have less skills but some do multiple things.has for anything else the classes will stay the same.

seen has i have a minstrel and half the abilities rarely get used i think turbine have the right idea.atm everything just gets cluttered.

the problem is with this game is that they have nothing to show up front that is maybe why peeps are reluctant...but you never know..still 10 days to go..might make it plus you have the amount from paypal to add in as well.

I admit that's pretty cool. I wish gw2 would post the names of banned people. I always have to add botters to my friend list to be able to see when they finally get banned (usually takes 2 weeks).

Still waiting for Mtstylez to feel the banhammer...

in that case they would end up putting innocent peoples names up with all the hacked accounts that happen.not really the same..not sure about the pvp though..if thats what you meant..if it is then by all means yes they should.

kind of in 2 minds about this game..playe beta 3 and loved it but my problem is do i have to pay for all the classes they release or how does it work? dont see why i should have to fork out £40 and then have to pay to unlock classes..i was kind of hoping that if you pay that moneey up front you get some of the class  unlocks.

So I am in a time of life where I have more time than I want to have. This is good and bad, but one good thing is I can try games that I previously didn't.

Now enters the real problem, finding a game.

I've been looking forward to Archage and such, EQNext seems to look interesting.

I started with EQ1, played EQ2 for a long time.

I guess the point I am trying to get at, is Vanguard worth looking in to? I dont really know much about what seems to be a muddled history of the game. However, it has some features that I really like, Player Housing, large class options, crafting, etc.

Well, I will probably try it out anyway, any suggestions for a beginner? Or anyone want to play with? (PS I am pretty casual when it comes to gameplay)

Vanguard is an exceptionally deep game from the crafting system which is insanely brilliant to diplomacy and then you have your pve side of things..there is enough content in game for you to do 1 char and it would probably take you 18 months to do all the content, depending how much you play..the gfx are good for its age,the combat is well not brilliant but its ok.

there is tons of stuff to do.explore..neverending list of dungeons..their are raids.but my favourite was the crafting..its so saying that its not everyones cup of tea but it is you have nothing to lose by giving it a shot.

also someone mentioned about a server being shut down.well most people never used that server..its litterally been empty for about 1 year.most transfered their toons to telon server.anyways give it a go..get in a good guild because for a lot of the game you will need groups.
