[Preview] Runescape: Introducing RuneScape 3.0
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 5/14/13 6:32:58 PM
I long for 2004/2005 runescape... Looking into trying 3.0 if it is a separate game from runescape 2 (like they did when runescape 2 came out and had that and classic) and not just a huge update

This is a game I want to like, and think that I very well may, but until they fix the fact that you lock up for a couple seconds when new players enter the area, I see no reason to even attempt. This is why I cancelled mys sub

Looking for SANDBOX MMO that is PvE focused (no open world deathmatch full loot)

You are in the same boat as a lot of people. I love pvp as much as the next guy but I like to do it when I feel like it. More games should implement their version of the wilderness that was in runescape back in the day. As far as I know, archeage may be what you're looking for. not sure if pvp is restricted though.

If I were a customer I'd rather have the game delayed as long as possible if it would result in a polished product.

How was your very first feeling when you logged in for the first time in a MMORPG
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 5/05/13 5:08:04 PM
I logged into runescape around 2002/2003 with two of my friends. They had started a little while before I did and decided that I was going to specialize in melee since one of them was a ranger and one was a mage (despite being able to be a jack of all trades). Rest is history, I ended up playing non stop trying to level everything and gain gold to buy all the items I could not craft.

Scarlet Blade a Character might get wiped chance roll

and people were complaining about neverwinter being overpriced... Back on topic, I'd try a chargeback because clearly they should be refunding you. |

Originally posted by ragz45 I can attest to that. Probably dropped like $200 in LoL between skins and champs, in about 6 months or so, maybe a little longer. |

I played runescape for 5 years and never hit the old max level. Only made it to 114, yet it was always something to strive for amongst other activitites which is what kept me playing. Edit: About death penalties in older mmos. I feel like Aion did it right in terms of a crossover between the old and new. When it first released you lost experience when you died but it could be bought back with gold. So you either had to grind the xp or grind for the gold. Not as harsh if you had the coin, but still provided some sort of a penalty. Then again I always like rushing back to where my armour was in runescape just to watch it disappear before I could pick it all up |

I saw the is onsale for $9.99 on green man games. I've been playing neverwinter which is free so I have room for a sub game. I haven't played since the first month after launch. Did they revamp the lower leveling process? The quest grind was just so boring, are there alternate ways to level now so that I can get to the end game content in the expansion (which looked good) without being bored to tears?

all i know is I am clinging onto my respec token from my founders pack until lvl 60. At least prior to lvl 30 (I heard that is when the game actually becomes challenging) I don't see how you can screw up a build at all. The game isn't that difficult. It is just fun

the way they explained how it works though makes it feels as if it is an mmo. You choose how many people you want to see while you are roaming around with a meter. So you can set it basically to play solo or to play in a world full of people then it will start filling your zone with first your friends, then your friend's friends, etc.. til you get random people or hit the max

certainly not the greatest game ever created but it is extremely fun and that is what matters in the end

Who Thinks This Game Is Gonna Fail? It Will Be Dead Within 5-7 Years
General Discussion « Elder Scrolls Online 4/24/13 10:34:05 PM
I don't see what is wrong with limiting pvp to a specific zone. You enter you know what you are getting into. Much better than getting ganked in my opinion and I like pvp more than pve
