Ultima Forever: Quest for the Avatar (New Ultima announced!)
Britannia Tavern (General) « Ultima Online 10/01/12 1:13:14 PM
If EA has anything to do with this game, then I will not. EA is the devil and if you feed them your money, you deserve all the crap they give you.

My take on Swtor's success or failure form what I am seeing.

Why would you give $0.01 to EA for this? I hope their stock becomes a pennie stock and they go belly up.

Think SWTOR's downfall will influence this game?
General Discussion « Elder Scrolls Online 10/01/12 4:42:26 AM
I think it will influence the powers that be to scrap it and not waste anymore time and money on what is inevitably going to be the next big disaster.

My fondest memories in UO were hanging out on the logs right outside Trammel and hunting down Pen Fifteen on the Pacific Server.
Making friends with Dawg and Pyrostasis only to jack their house keys and loot everything they had.
Making player cities with houses and tents.
Halloween when they would let you play on the Abyss server as a Dragon
Pretty much everything before they came out with Trammel which totally killed the game for me. |
|
|
If they came out with a new server so everyone started fresh and kept it Pre t2a...or at least pre trammel. I would play.

Originally posted by Quirhid I didn't play SWG enough to really get that into it but I liked the idea that only a few people could be Jedi after a MASSIVE amount of grinding. Then killing them would make them lose their status...or not logging in for a while? I believe thats what SWG did pre NGE, that was pretty slick. |

GW1 was a lot better. In time, Forbes will be writting articles of the failure of GW2 just like they did with SWTOR. The community should not feed these companies money to make such games with little depth. They will just keep making them if we do.

I loved the notoriety system in UO.. Except in UO it was a real pain in the ass to be Red because there was only 1 town, Buc's Den that you could go to.

I think its a shame that some of the greatest intellectual properties of our life time were made into MMOs that utterly failed. I remember watching movies and reading books thinking to myself, "I wish I could live or play in this world" and eventually some corporation got involved with the creators of the IP, made a game and it ended up sucking, going free to play or closing down.
HOW CAN THIS BE? Ironically, some of the best MMO's still in play and going strong didn't really have a big following before the game ever came out. I find that kind of funny. |
