If you had a beta account, do you need to buy the game?
General Discussion « TERA 5/01/12 6:55:03 PM
Just buy it, it will be the best $60 spent in your gaming life in my an seemingly a lot of other people's opinions. Most of the negative commentary is just flat out not true and I don't know what they are talking about. Some of the cons that have been mentioned that are true are: Only 1 real tank and healing class Quests are in the form of kill x # of this mob
The mention of a grind is laughable if you come across that one. I level so fast and am constantly moving areas. You only do 3-5 quests in an area before moving to the next spot.
Anyway, hope this helps convince you

There is no such thing as a totally F2P MMO. They have to make money somehow, so your best bet is a crap browser based game with tons of ads. |

Getting ripped apart on Metacritic
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/20/11 6:50:54 PM
And of those people who criticize it, it is virtually the same complaint. It is a WoW clone which the game isn't. I missed the part in WoW where conversations with quest NPCs lead to different results, or space combat, or many of the other things that are a part of SW:TOR that don't resemble anything in other MMOs. |

Thinking This or AoC for a F2P to gold me over...
General Discussion « Lord of the Rings Online 9/25/11 6:14:19 PM
Lotro is 100x better than AoC. I've maxed chars in both games, Lotro is much better especially if you are a PvE over PvP player. |

End of first month: Major Success or Major Upset

You do know that there is essentially a giant poll on the main page. It is where DCUO is currently creaming every other MMO |

Why do people keeping calling DCUO shallow?
General Discussion « DC Universe 1/13/11 10:04:54 AM
Originally posted by SaintViktor It seems that most people have forgotten about the promised MONTHLY updates. So, if it takes you 2 months to finish all the content (don't know how you came up with that), you will have 2 months of new content to go explore.
Also there are about 180 different movement/powerset/weapon combo so the choices are really not lacking. Just because you don't have the specific power you were looking for doesn't make it limited. |

I don't understand what people think is shallow about this game? There are so many weapon/powerset/movement combos that you can find a ton of variety and the cities seem pretty extensive to me so far. |

played beta, pre-ordered, and very excited. |

Thank you for the input everyone. This helped me confirm this isn't the game for me so a pre-order for DCUO is on the way which I found incredibly new and exciting. |

I played the beta, but stopped playing at a pretty low level because it felt like a lot of other games I've already played. People seem to be loving it as its hype is jumping, so what am I missing that is new and unique? |

I don't know what the people on this thread are talking about. I find the combat to be extremely fun. |

I played the beta and voted no. It seemed way too similar to Warhammer Online for my tastes. Going to play DCUO when it comes out in a week and a half because I played that beta and it is something new and extremely fun. |

Blizzard BOTCHES East Coast Midnight Release...
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 11/12/10 8:17:11 AM
I think this one ranks up there with the most ridiculous thing to complain about. It is a midnight launch, it is just a midnight launch based on Pacific Coast Time. It isn't like it makes sense for them to take down servers one at a time as their time zone passes to enable the Cataclysm launch. Not only is it a royal pain in the butt for Blizzard, but it would also probably lead to all sorts of errors delaying your play time more than if they do it this way. Try to realize that the world doesn't revolve around you and patience is a virtue. |

I would make sure one of you is either a druid or shaman so you can heal the other. |
