Even when all us ex-scapers played there was a huge uproar of drama every now and again over Jagex uncanny ability to make excessively stupid decisions such as putting a sex depraved, power hungry, 20 something year old nerd in charge of moderating the entire game... single handledly at that mind you which resulted in the most ridiculous bans ever and problably one of the biggest community backlashes in runescape history. Only difference between today and then is that the game was actually pretty good and not nearly as nerfed as it is today. |

Romeo and Juliet Quest deleted, more quests to be deleted soon!

Originally posted by AkaJetson Hmm let's see I haven't played in awhile. I didn't say make it worst I said they were limiting/nerfing the content inorder to get people to get membership more quickly. Its like those MMOs that only have 1-3 day trials or others where you get longer trials, but everything is extremely limited (like back when Ashen Empires/Dransik was p2p) or doesn't offer the wealth of content membership offers. It forces you to go ahead and get the membership. At this moment if I were to get on my main in RS, it would be pointless for me to do f2p even to train skills since I've done pretty much everything and membership offers better benefits. |

Even though I would love for Runescape to just die just so we all can say "I TOLD YOU SO!" to Jagex. The truth is it's going to be around for decades. Jagex has problably made enough money to keep the servers up for hundred years even if there's only 5 people in total play the game at the time. It will continue to decline though. I guarantee that. |

Originally posted by TDLTowelie Yet there are a bunch of grown people playing facebook games and other games like Hello Kitty online (alot of its userbase are successful career women and men for some reason, I'm talking about suit and tie business people btw). Are these the type of people you call a child? Are they grown? I haven't played Runescape in years, but even I can see the bigger picture, which is that they are not only deleting a quest, but nerfing the ftp content in hopes of not just gaining new players, but members. Whats next? They already haven't added in REAL quests to the ftp list in years. Most likely the ftp quests are going to continue to be deleted until there's almost no content, forcing people to just buy a membership instead of jumping directly into ftp or dicking around in ftp. Is this Runescape's first major step toward become a fully p2p game? Who knows. Seems to me they've been working on that since membership launched. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but the article says that the NEW players don't carry-out the quest. It doesn't say anything about the majority of players which complete that quest and then some. Common sense tells us that if the new players played any longer they would eventually complete that same quest. I doubt ONE quest turns people away, especially since Runescape was built on its F2P userbase. Even before they added membership Runescape was clocking in with atleast 200k players online at all times and atleast 600k logging in daily. This is why people that have played the game longer are all over this because we actually know the game's history and looking at the history of Runescape, it's success, deleting an old quest is totally pointless. |

*tsk* *tsk* People always want the fast route. How about putting in some work then maybe eventually you'd earn the gold for what you want and if you're lucky enough, learn the fast route to being rich. This game has been up for over a decade I'm sure there's tons of strategy guides out there. I'd also like to hint that people pretty much drop EVERYTHING they own when they DIE. That'll be my only clue for you ;) |

Things needed to fix game population problems

I know, I know, I'm a little late. I can support you on the fact that its hard to solo above level 35. I don't know what you guys were doing, but It's extremely easy to solo to level 30. Back when I played I must've made atleast 20 characters on different servers in total and soloed most of them (like my monk) to level 30 in 3-4 days without much effort. The problem might be that you guys instantly go for the red/black (or whatever color they are when the gap between you is huge) monsters for gigantic xp profits when killing a bunch of whites/yellows at a fast rate can easily net you 2-6 times as much xp as that one huge monster. It's sad to see a game like this die. This was one of the first mmorpgs I grew to love and played for years. I remember my friends and I laughing when our subscriptions ran out because a few of us knew that it didn't kick you offline so you were basically playing for free until you either got disconnected or servers went down for maintanence. |

I think a good move would be to port it to PC AND make this game f2p to try and get people to play other games made by the developers or maybe a sequel to this. |

The servers are bad. Alot of people were complaining about lag. Disciple takes the cake when it comes to browser fighter with the worst servers. |

I used to play it on 5 with 1280x1024. Everything ran smooth except for Rome as well. Shame they put out players for a few spell effects because I've heard a few people say there's no change in overall graphics. I feel sorry for those who spent money on the cash shop right before this patch. |

So are there any other casualties other than me who were forced out because of the latest patch? I'm talking about increased lag, Blue Screens of Death, and of course the random colored squares when loading the game up (which is what I have). Seems the devs really messed up. I read the patch release and it said nothing about updating the engine nor had they made any attempt to warn players within the last couple months from what I seen, that's just wrong. From I seen on their forums they're not even responding to posts about it, leaving the players to figure out what happened themselves. Finally got the hang of the market and was preparing to make 20+ million a day then the game stops working. Not to mention I still had licenses and those are going to expire as well. I ran this game on a Radeon 9250 and it ran smoothly with 30-40 fps on max graphic settings. Game looked great as well. I just don't see the reason behind this update because they're losing alot of players. |

Wth are you talking about? Group Content? You mean like Territory Wars, FBs, the monthly and weekly Races, Various Special Dungeons, the ongoing NPC Raids, and as an extra "Zen Parties"? If you look deep you would see that PWI is based around helping people which is grouping because its the biggest way to level. If you got past the "training levels" which are 1-30 you would've experienced a few of these things. I remember you posting somewhere else that you didn't like raids which is group content, yet you complain that there is no group content when you avoid raids? Kind of pointless to complain about something you don't like you think? Runs very slow and clunky? PW is one of those games like WoW that's known to run smooth and be easy on graphics cards. I suggest you update your computer or check and see whats hogging all your processes. How smart do you expect mobs to be other than "Attack back when hit and use various skills" or "Aggro unto people" the AI is typical of any MMORPG. Some monsters even run away when their health gets low. Name any MMORPG other than WoW thats not a timesink or has any elements in it thats a timesink.

Wow and I just uninstalled the game a few days ago too. I would check back, but man remembering all that grinding, and all the grinding I'll have to do if I start playing again puts me off=/ No wonder I had it installed for months and never played it lol Now if only they took the ads off of Pirates of the Carribean online. |

Funny because your post looks like something an idiot or a joke of a troll would post.
I know plenty of people that game using Vista and 7 just most of them use 64-bit and don't have as many issues as 32-bit does.
Whats even more funny is that you still don't get the picture even though I stated the obvious. Now you and the OP can go and think of something else to post about when it comes to a Windows OS that hasn't come out yet. You're making a statement based on your friends when you don't even know the history of Windows and how it figures into all of this. Save yourself the embarassment and go hide in a corner. |

Seriously? Who plays games on Windows Vista and anything past it? I'm guessing you're playing on a beta or leaked version of Windows 7 because its not supposed to come out until October and you think EVERYTHING will support something that hasn't come out yet? Listen to what you're saying: "You immediately got a RELEASE CANDIDATE/BETA version of a WINDOWS OS and you're trying to game on it? You're either an idiot or a joke of a troll. |

That's nothing. Check out the advertisements and website for "Gladius II". All the browser fighters are misleading some alot. They have these awesome graphics on the site and list features as if its an 3D Environment MMORPG, but the game is always shite.

Yeah they OP was lying. He either never played at all or played the beta years ago for a little bit; which is why he never responded to me. A word of advice to any other trolls like the one that started this thread: If you're going to troll a game make sure its NOT a game I'm playing ;)

QFT Dude I've been saying the same things for months and morons still come in here and have the nerve to say there's grind beginning around level 30-40 (ROFLMAO) and that you HAVE to depend on the item mall to survive. Thanks for adding your input though, you actually know how to play a MMORPG. |
