At that rate he would take a month, maybe 6 weeks, which IMO is not nearly long enough to reach max level. Personally, I just don't understand the point of rushing to max level and then complaining there isn't enough to do. Not even to mention that if you don't do much pvp or enjoy the story and read/listen to the quests, this was entirely the wrong game for him from the get-go.

There is one thing that's sticks in my craw when I hear complaint's about it taking too long to level:

Didn't a French chick with help, reach level 50 in 17 1/2 hours?

Many have gone to about where I am, and just grinded the boat-quest for XP(by not turning the quest in when you're done, and redo it over and over).

Well, they say that when you're 50, that's 1/3rd of the way to veteran rank 10(which is the max level in this game). Forcestrategygaming(highly valued youtuber and streamer) stated this. He said something along the lines of which 1/3rd is 1-50, then veteran rank 1-5 is 2/3rds and then 6-10 is the last 3/3 part. So level 30 is no where near middle of the game..

You don't like a challenge? Used to levels being spoonfed to you?

"and isn't as interesting. I mean, I've had fun until now. As a guy not really interesting in story, so I don't listen to a voiced book all day, I skip that part, and play the game."

If you ignore the story of ESO you are missing out on a major part of the game experience.

"As I enjoyed the combat, the builds availiable. But all in all, I'm bored. I unsubbed, and are falling back to my old MMOs. And I don't think the market is really up for more sub-based games at this time.

I mean what should I do? When I think it's a hassle to even start up the game, thinking about all the grinding of quests. I didn't really get into the crafting even. I hate the fact that an item, and the whole item can be ruined in an attempt to make it better. So I've been researching and gathering mostly. Finding the inventory(bag and bankspace) also annyoing in the game. I want to save up for that faster horse, not spending it all on bag and bankspace."

You don't save up for a "faster Horse", you upgrade the one you have by feeding it....

"The itemization isn't even that interesting. Damage, enchants with various damage and stuff is mostly it. Then the traits, more xp for that particular item, less costs upon dying? Boring. Set items is of course the thing, but why collect a set at level 30, when you get better invidual items a few quests/mobs later.

Anyone else feeling this? I'd liek tip on what to do in order to feel less bored with it. I'm in 2-3 playerguilds already."

You seem to be just focused on grinding out levels, without actually paying any attention to the other parts of the game at all It seems to me that you need to actually read up on the game, and all of the aspects of it, instead of just logging in and grinding.  Do some exploring, listen to the NPC's, find a helpful guild and your experience will be better.

Well, about the faster horse thing. Of course I upgrade my free horse. But if you have calculated a horse that costs like 50k gold will be faster once upgraded, you knew that horses can only upgrade to level 50, right? So 15% speed start-horse can only get 15+50 in speed, but those that costs 50k gold starts at a higher % speed than 15%, so they obviously are better in terms of faster, more storage or stamina. Depends on the horse you chose for 50k gold. But this is waay off-topic.

Well, I've accepted the fact that leveling is slow fairly early, and then I started to be OK by it. But still thinking it's slow. And after a few more rounds of questing, skipping most story and dialogue. Realizing that I have to do a ton of those quests, feels like to have to do 140 quests to get ONE more level. And as others also say they feel the quests are immature and boring, except for a few. So whenever I want to listen to it, it doesn't catch me.

And I've done alot of fedex quests, survive this, kill X of Y there. Investigate/go there. All of this is in there in one form or another.

I'm not expecting to hit max level after 1 month even. But it's something about progressing, you've gained all your slots with skills, dual weapon and their skills, what's left to progress, beside levels and gear? I have no more room for more active skills, just the passives left(which isn't that noticeable even). Only boredom left, I'm sorry for that.

World of Warcraft is a good game, and so I've been falling back to it like the millions of others out there. But we're always looking for new stuff. And giving this game a shot was worth it, I had fun the week and a half I've had it. I'm not currently into WoW atm, and I'd hope the game would last longer than 1,5 weeks tbh. But other game I like has been The Secret World, Marvel Heroes, Perpetuum, Fallen Earth, even Guild Wars 2 had me longer than ESO. And as I've said TSW has also alot of VO and story, but it's more catching, interesting, mystical and horror-ym the estetic of the enviroment is grim and dark. I am alittle bored of the fantasy elf and orcs tbh.

And as I said, I like ESO for everything other than story, questing and crafting. SWTOR kinda suffered the same fate for me, story was good so I listened to much of it, side quests, not so much. Expantionpack that they announced felt more like a content patch. And so I dropped out.

if you dont like doing quests and story i don't know what to tell you. might want to try an Asian grinder or something.

ESO is a quest driven mmo, if you are not having fun doing the quests or other stuff the game offers then it probably isn't for you.

People like you don't read what I say.

TLDR; I like about EVERYTHING in this game except for the story, lore and since leveling in this game takes ages, it will take even longer if I were to hear an audio book for each quest(all the VO combined through a quest) the leveling would take even longer.

And therefor I've come to the conclution that the most of you have, story is too big of a deal in this game, doing all the quest for like 100 XP(well, not far from it) each when you need like 14k experience is too slow for me. And it gets grindy, and no I don't like asian MMOs because it's too grindy. 3000 hours and probably more in WoW, at least the newer quests doesn't feel that grindy, and also it's a 7-8 year old game, 3000 hours is nothing, trust me.

And to those saying why play MMORPGs, RPGs isn't all about story. It's about levels, gear, stats, a progression of a character(or party/multiple characters) you make, not that much story for my part. I know the story is there, and that's why I play some of them f.ex. the Diablo-series or Final Fantasy. But this one is kinda too heavy on the story, and it's so much of a deal (breaker). With the same quests(it feels like) over and over. I cannot be emerged into the story here, it's not that interesting world, character or monsters, and the quests feel dull.

These comments always make me curious.  What are your old MMOs?  Are you talking about games where you are already established at Max Level/Endgame, or games were you could start a new character at level 1 and not be bored?

For me, ESO's leveling at least feels involved.  Every quest is it's own little story line(kinda like an ES game).

I guess all that matters is what you want to do when you go to the Dreaded Castle of Evil Stuff.

Would you rather....

Standard Themepark MMO: Pick up three quests.

Quest 1 - Kill 20 Evil Things.

Quest 2 - Collect 10 Evil Thing's Beards.

Quest 3 - Kill Evil Thing Leader

10 Minutes later you turn in your quests and get your reward.

ESO:  Pick up one quest.

Quest 1 - "OH THE BANDITS TOOK MY STUFF!!!  I THINK THEY RAN INTO THAT BIG FORTRESS!"  Go into the fortress and find the bandits.  The bandits are dead.  The fortress was overrun by the Evil Things.  Friendly forces are attacking the Evil Things and want your help.  Kill Evil Things.  Oh wait they are not actually Evil Things, they are villages turned into Evil Things.  STOP KILLING THEM.  Here use this amulet to subdue the villagers turned Evil Things.  We must find a cure.  Search through all these buildings for evidence of what is going on.  Oh crap the general turned them into Evil Things.  Go into this building and fight your way to the general.  Fight the general.  Oh it wasn't the general's fault.  He is being controlled by an evil wizard.  Hunt for clues about who the evil wizard is.  Go into the fortress' dungeon that then turns into a cave.  Follow the cave up through the mountain next to the fortress.  Come out on the mountainside overlooking the fortress.  THERE'S THAT SOB WIZARD!!!!

45 minutes later....you may be done with the quest....

THERE'S THAT SOB WIZARD!!!!!!!

That made me laugh so hard!!!

yeah that was hilarious. And so true.

I can't tell you how many times when I first started playing that I was ready to log and I saw someone with a quest and thought "well, I"m close to leveling, let me just 'bang' this quest out" only to find myself 30 minutes later completely engaged in what is going on.

I still haven't done a quest that's longer than 15 minutes tops. Where can you find the ones that are 30 mins and 45 mins? I haven't had one yet at level 31.

The leveling is really slow, slow as fuck. People that are hardcore and dedicated is veteran rank 10 already, claiming there's nothing to do. I mean it's slow leveling, but I've been having fun while leveling anyway, and the leveling is the whole game as it is now.

Meaning compared to other games the levels, and the time you use to progress through the game(meaning story, zones and enemy types) is very slow compared to other games. Even in Wildstar it felt quicker, slow but quicker than this. And the same enemies from 1-30 mostly so far in ESO. It's now at 30 I've really encountered werewolves. Before that it was mostly human like enemies.

Most of you saying the game is not for me are probably right. And I kinda thought it was by my self, when I don't feel like playing, not even logging in to feed my horse on all my alts anymore.

You could try PvP, otherwise I have to agree with DK. Two of the game's greatest strengths are the story (and lore), and the exploration (out of every theme park MMO I have played it is the most sandboxy). If you aren't enjoying those aspects I don't know what to tell you. For me the other two strongest aspects are the character spec options, and the PvP. Sorry...

I love exploration, combat and dungeons. I love how the characters can build in different skills and still be unique. Love the look of the armors and characters in this game. And the crafting somewhat. But it kinda ends there. I would think that would be enough to keep me going, the story is alright at times, but I don't listen to it mostly that would be me "reading" audio books daily, and that's not me. And I'm no PvP player, I can enjoy it so I should maybe try. But hearing that you don't level as fast there as questing(and questing is DAMN slow), I think it wouldn't be enough for me to continue to play the game.

I have seen others also play this game, and they also skip most of the story, so I'm not alone in liking the game. But if you compare this to The Secret World. I listen to the secret world voiceover moreso than in this game, it's more mystic and so I'm wanting to know more. But here's like this girl needs help finding her son, and the next is like, "my son has disappeared!". It's so boring, uninteresting side quests. Get this from that house, and this from that house. And no the quests doesn't take 45 minutes, not with me behind the wheels. Think they are just as fast as killing 30 bears to get their flanks. And some are better than others, but 1 level now is like 1 day. And I can't cope with that.

But again, thanks for all the answers. And I still think I did a fairly good job, and I like the game for awhile(well, about a week isn't much for an MMO). I might return later if they do something about the leveling speed or if more of my friends starts to play this.

I'm bored already.

I've gotten level 31 with my main, got alts at 10 and 15 and some minor. And I don't feel like opening the game and start leveling anymore. It's a hassle. I feel the leveling takes too much time, and isn't as interesting. I mean, I've had fun until now. Anyone else feeling this? I'd liek tip on what to do in order to feel less bored with it. I'm in 2-3 playerguilds already.

I have enough station points, and see that some weapons cost 700 points. But I'm unable to buy it, it shows everything ok in-game, but gives an error sound when I try. Anyone know why? Are the weapon locked and un-buyable in beta?

Edit: Nvm, says "Wallet disabled!" now. So guess its locked in beta :)

"As long as new players are aware of the decks and can easily access them, Funcom should score a win in this one."

No not really, cuz many of the decks have few or none abilities from the first tier, ergo will they have to make and construct a class as they play, which they will replace skills with newer skills they unlock until they have the final deck.. So really decks doesn't do much until you have completed the deck, that's when you get the "class".

Lies!! Lies!! Paste the email if you did, please..

Edit: just saw this on the twitter:

I got in on the Basilisk Droid server with the guild.. So why isn't that in your list? Mabby cuz that list is from the beta, and the names might not be the same.

Nope, the emails don't start going out until 12 gmt.

Exactly, so I don't expect start playing from 12..

Bah, I was ready to play at 12:00 when they announced that the early access starts. But shouldn't one get a mail in advance telling you?

I put my code in like 5 hours after the pre-orders started. And I'm not expecting to get in at 12:00 today, maybe like 5 hours later? I dunno anymore.. It's all pre-loaded and ready to go.. And I'm excited..

In the end you just choose the one with most attractive gameplay, i was hoping for a mellee type of healer, but that isn't there. I am pretty sure for those concerned about endgame that all 3 healers will be ballanced by the time most of us reach max level.

Yes, there is a melee healer.. Kinda.. They need to be up close for any dmg abilities. Like the IA operative, they have like Shiv and short range abilities, and stealth. So if you went up the DPS tree on the Operative, you would be like a rogue like.. With healing. I guess the same is for scoundrel, some of them get scattergun and shotguns, whish are close range.

Well, to be honest I don't think there's much to "hide". As people have stated they have sold alot, and with the game coming, why not lift the NDA? Game will be datamined and everything will be seen upon launch or a few weeks after anyway.

Don't think it will matter more or less if they lift it. The game is in beta, people know that. And I will certainly not be canceling my order for whatever reason anyway. But I can certainly wait for the NDA, but I just don't get the reason for it to be there so close to launch.

Also someone mentioned that they didn't wanna see videoes of all the flashpoints and storylines. Well, then don't look for it?
