You are making no sence, unless your guild is for only for level 1s to 20s then whats the point, guilds dont just recruit from that level range, and just becasue you found something does not mean they are FACT across the board.

Here is what i've seen, alot of my guild in WoW made a guild in SWTOR, for the first couple of weeks people where very active, 3-4 weeks in only about 5 people left and then when the time came to sub for the second month there where ZERO people left in the guild, EVERYONE had quit, now just becasue thats what ive seen does not make it a FACT across the board, calling people bias becasue they dont agree with you is just stupid and to me your coming across more that way than anyone else in this thread.

Fact is theres alot of avidence out there that does not support your claim, and does look like it is not growing but in decline.

You are letting your personal bias interfere with your objectivity.   Objectively, which is a better recruiting pool for guild leaders, 28 characters scattered across 15 zones or 88 characters in 3 zones?

I recruited 20 new players in one 10-16 zone, Courscant yesterday.   Only about 1/4 of them were alts.   Today in Westfall there were only 3 characters from 10-15.  Yesterday on Courscant there were 20-35 all day.

You are comparing a game that was just released to a game that has been out for 7 odd years, mmos after so long tend to be top heavy level wise.

Just becasue thats what you encounted on that server with your guild does not making it fact across the board, one of the biggest thread on SWTOR is one complaining about their servers being dead and that is a new game thats not been released long, not a good sign.

The only thing that annoyed me was the advertising with high ress graphics that you can not get in game, and the fact they are still advertising the game that looks better than what you actually get.

Pretty much everything thats been said already, i got a BH to 43 in my 3rd week, would log on try and do some quests, get bored, que for WZ's get bored, go to fleet try finding a group for a FP and get bored waiting..

More open worlds where both sides are together, in my time leveling to 43 i think the only rebs i bumped into was all of 3-4 and the first was not till late 30s and that to me is really really lame. The worlds just feel dead, you hardly see anyone even your own faction, the maps are to enclosed, it just didnt feel alive to me at all.

Really sad becasue it could have been such a good game, im nether a themepark or sandbox guy i like abit of both but for the life of me i can not understand why devs cant see whats sitting right infront of there face when it comes to some sandbox elements in a game, this is star WARS, there should have been more war - territory control or some sort can keep people playing your game for years if its setup right and the best thing is once its setup theres no need for more dev time.

Edit: Also having a game look like it is in the screenshots and vids would be nice, a game engine that runs ALOT better and skills that work when i hit the button when i need them lol.

 No its real money. Entropia is actually a licensed bank too. My understanding is the company sells the uber items, and value is determined by the "bad arseness" of the wep, armor or ship and the number of the item in the game. For example the guy was carrying a $15,000 pistol which is super strong and of which there are only 10 total in the game.

Am I the only person who finds it absolutely insane that people are willingly playing this game and sinking hundreds if not thousands of dollars into virtual items in it?

The point I just can't process in my head is that the company who is apparently a 'registered bank' and has full control over the currency exchange, is also selling virtual items worth thousands of dollars that they can create by replicating a few bits of data.

It goes against all sense and logic from an economic standpoint.

Are you serious? it would be an instanced mess half finished at lauch with a online store that sells weapons and other stuff so full it could be half a game.

Yeah they are doing thier second round of server merges aparently.

From the announcment it reads like it will be only from high pop > low pop which if that is right it wont change anything, noone is going to move from a decently populated server to a dead one.

To be honest from the amouncment it sounds like they will only be moving players from the couple high pop searvers that are left to the low pop server's which does not solve anything, noone on a decent server is going to want to move to a low pop one so how will this fix the servers that are dead?.

Sorry if i missed this only read half the thread, will they even have the NVN ip now thier being sold?

The amount of people playing Darkfall vs. Rift is beyond comparison.  Darkfall doesn't have close not by a long shot - the number that Rift has.  NOT BY A LONG SHOT.

Even the amount of player playing Rift against WoW is beyond comparison..............which is the point of my post

A vast majority of players still prefer WoW (a 6 y/o game) to Rift, yet in the article it looks like there is clear evidence that Rift is superior to WoW, so much so that is put forward as it's replacement (while numbers do not support the theory, and many bored players too)

Actually not really.  You were saying that there's no justification for MMORPG to address if Rift could be a WoW replacement.  You then alluded that Rift and Darkfall are on the same playing field.  And they're not.  Darkfall is a niche game that might have 60k subs.  Rift is a AAA mainstream themepark that has 700k subs, but probably 1 million.  Rift is also the most successful selling PC game for the month of March. 

The article is suggesting that Rift COULD be a replacement for WoW.  It's not saying that it is.  Rift is a success.  Many are upset with that fact.  But a fact it still remains.  Doesn't mean the game will 'take over' WoW.  Most certainly doesn't mean that Rift would garner 11.6 million subs, ever.  I mean for them to have a shot at even attempting to compete with WoW sub wise, they'd need to sell their game in China.  Which is were a vast majority of WoW subs come from.

The servers aren't dead =/  There's only a small few that are low pop right now... and it's 3:15am server time.

I don't understand how things are bland and boring for you. In woW all you had to look forward to when leveling is quests... more quests... or battlegrounds. In Rift, the world is alive and there a lot of things to do. You're not stuck with questing or PvPing alone. In Rift it's not the world playing itself, it's not reactions between various systems... it's you.

If there are no dead servers why are there so many posts asking for transfers/merges? fact of the matter is there are tons of people saying their servers are ghost towns, alot of these people have done alot of investigating and it pretty much shows that trions high, med and low server numbers have to be alot lower than peoples expectations of what those mean.

The game world to me is very bland, there is hardly anything dinamic about their dinamic content and people are avoiding these most of the time from what ive seen so they cant be that great.

There is alot of things to do? your kidding right? grind rep or dungeions you did earlier?

To me this is just a blander version of wow, ive been trying to get into it with the 7 day free trial but the world is so bland and boring, i really tried to get into it but just couldnt, the writer says the game is faster paced than wow and i just cant see it, the combat seems alot slower than wow to me, the risfts are not that impressive and as for the soul system for me is its only redeeming feature.

have you heard some of the horror stories of WOW? popularity does not mean you get faster queue times,

 

horde side is overpopulated on all the servers, they end up waiting 40 mins+ to get into a BG on some servers, or they have the 1x every 2 hour world PVP Baron Hold i think its called, where they dont get in at all for the entire day, because there are only 15 ppl queueing on the alliance side,

 

have you tried to queue as a DPS role in WOW? its 40-50 minute wait time, guaranteed, because there are so many DPS players out there

 

so higher numbers does not mean quicker wait times, this game already got enough initial sales to keep going for like 1 year - 2 yrs atleast, like how AOC still is surviving, plus its a unique genre of mmo, which is why it will have staying power over the other mmos. This game just needs tweaking, more content and stuff to do, and itll do fine. if a game like mortal online or the atrocious game darkfall can stay alive this long, dcuo can too

Horde is not overpopulated on all servers and i can get in a BG in 1 min on alliance side so heh. ^^
