I liked that it didn't shut down like the russian version.

Well, for me, I like how combat is not simply TAB+Number Key but instead, more free form where I could aim anywhere with the mouse. Moving while fighting is pretty important in this game. I like how certain furniture such as bookshelves, crates, barrels, tables can be broken. I also like to launch a whole bunch of golbins and small cute dogs into the air. Not as pleasant when a giant dog launches you into the air. Spacifically regarding classes, I like how for the
In summary, it's like a cute cartoonish version of Vindictus. |

Originally posted by dauntSilver I did like Dragon Nest up until the current max level of 40. At that point, it became repetitive raiding in order farm ingredients to craft sets of equipment. Once the next chapter comes out, I'll be sure to play it again as I liked the storyline. For PWI, I was hooked on Forsaken World for a few months. Then the daily rituals of Henry's Quests, God's Trial, Glistening Plains, etc got boring for me. |

I think it should be relatively effective for its simplicity. Now, logins with require 2 factor authentication:
At least it is not asking for who you are (biometrics) and what you do (maybe how you move your mouse). This type of 2 factor authentication is something I've seen large companies use but like other security measures, it can be broken. |

With a set amount of resources (money & time), would you rather have 4 well developed characters (appearances, actions, skills, effects) or 8 mediocre characters? Or maybe 4 average characters versus 8 poorly developed ones. |

General: The Barrier Called 'Free'
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 4/18/12 4:22:37 PM
Yahoo! Mail Plus - Gets you offline POP, 100 more filters, Live Customer Care (sounds familiar), Mail Forwarding, Disposable Addresses, and No graphical ads. GMail - More space is the only thing that comes to mind at the moment. Reminds me of buying inventory space. Hotmail Plus - More space (sounds familiar), No account expiration, No graphical ads.
Of course, you could also stick to the email system that your subscription based ISP provides. |

Over 1000 real players in one area, one fight, one siege?

why do people play single player mmorpgs
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 4/06/12 6:36:39 PM
Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. With a mmorpg, the player can interact with other players (chat, hang out) when they're bored with playing by themselves. The game could even be considered an elaborate chat room. There's no chance of that happening with a pure single player game. |

The forum moderators here are NOT customer service. They're not even associated with the company running the game. Instead, they are regular players (or former players) who just happened to be active and polite on the forums. As a result, they are chosen to have moderator privilages on the forum. Outside of the forum, they're just your regular player / former player. I'm iffy on G1 as a company and hence haven't spent much on them but fortunately, also haven't run into many issues that required a ticket. |

3 Things that an mmo MUST have for you to play it long term, and 3 things that it MUST NOT have.
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 3/29/12 6:45:24 PM
3 Things an mmorpg has to have
3 things that will automatically make me not play an mmo LONG TERM
Coming from a time when I had great fun playing MUDs (purely text), flashy visuals and animation are not important to me since one gets used to it easily.
Cash shop / item mall is fine for me but I would prefer that cosmetic items are permanent rather than temporary.

If this happens, will the publishers keep track of your gains and send you the appropriate tax forms at the end of the year? |

would you pa $50 a month for an MMO?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 3/22/12 6:38:21 PM
No, it's only a game. My cell phone bill is only $30 WITH data. Also, I've been spending $0 / month on a game that I've been engrossed with for the past 12 months. |

Comparison of how you act in MMOs and Real life
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/21/11 2:09:09 PM
I think I act the same in a MMO as I do in real life. In MMOs, I usually play support characters and try to be helpful. Coincidentally, I now work with small team that reminds me of the classic MMO party. There's a: Tank - A former Marine. Built like the Hulk. Warrior - Currently serving and is the lead. Not as built as the tank but just as fit and can legally carry a firearm. Medic - A vet with medic skills but main role is to take care of the "party" regarding administrative stuff. Squishy support characters - One other parson and me. Hired for our technical expertise.
Now, I'm just waiting to go visit the equivalent of a "dungeon" which the others have been to already. |

What does your Gaming area look like right now?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 6/20/11 10:04:02 AM
For the past month, it is a large widescreen laptop on a wooden table in a hotel room. I've been changing hotels or hotel rooms every few days. For audio better than the standard laptop speakers, I've been using headphones. |

This game has me hooked for the past month. I currently have 2 level 37 Priests. I started on the European PvE server but moved over to the US East PvE server in order to take advantage of the daily events, especially God's Trial which is held during prime time for me. God's Trial is actually 121 mobs (6 statues * 20 mobs each status + 1 final boss). However, since it requires a party, I usually play a part in defeating at most of 61 mobs. The battle lasts between 20 to 30 minutes and for the amount of character experience gained in such a short amount of time, it's relatively much less of a grind than most of the F2P games out there. Henry's first 10 errands also gives a good amount of character experience and can be completed in 15 minutes if you're lucky with the random tasks. Additional rewards from it include reputation (Dream Emblem on the 5th and the 10th completion), a cash shop item on the 10th completion of the day (World Flute), and a random assortment of other items (ie. Memory Lotus for use when AFK) At higher level instances, it's definitely more than "tank & spank" unless one likes being spanked by the bosses. I've seen quite a few tanks attempt to spank a boss only to be hit by the boss's Blade Rebound skill and be spanked back. I haven't spent any money on the game so far but after being in a party last night with another character in an adorable maid outfit, I'm sorely tempted. It's only $3 or $4 for the permanent dress, not including shoes, hair, and privates. Or maybe I'll just continue saving enough ingame money to trade for cash shop currency (Leaf) for it. |

Does any westerner have a max(or close to max) level character on an Asian Grindfest F2P MMORPG?

Originally posted by Pyrostasis That's only mid level. :P I have a level 120 character there, only 48 other characters in the barracks to level up but I'm taking a break. I also view it as a scenic chatroom nowdays. |

Gas prices in my area are between 3.89 and 4.09 this past week for 87 octane. I spent around $50 during the each of last 2 weekends to fill up but that was due to extra driving to fun places as the weather was good. I should be able to cut that down to the mid $30s if I drive less on the weekends to nonessential places. While I think there's no single factor to blame for the higher prices, I do think the financial industry (aka speculators) has an significant effect. Hence, I've been looking into energy equities and derivatives. It's actually working out pretty nicely these 2 years and is offsetting the rising price abit. |
