I'm a fan of the game, Have my founders pack, but there ARE issues that need to be addressed.

The content of the Landmark live stream indicated that the devs were not happy with the performance of the client and said they can do much better. They have also been open about the fact there is no mulithreaded rendering subsystem which makes multi core cpus cripled.

When that goes live within the next month its fullly expected to see a significant jump to frames for a lot of people that are having problems (in theory).

Just because u, or your immediate friends don't have an issue, it doesn't mean there inst a problem for a significant amount of people.

Acknowledge problems + Solve them = Better game.

Because I only have an A-10 6800K a  260X and 8 gigs of RAM and run the game amazingly well. I have no issues and neither does all but one guy in my guild group from EQ2 


How about a whole month dedicated to performance tweaking because dave said "performance issues must die?

Thats all well and good but how large can they get the world after moving to voxels? The islands of Landmark are really small and still it has issues ( not mentioning the horrible LOD for distant terrain / objects ). Until I see some world fly overs from EQN of a giant well crafted world I will hold out on having any hope.
  After moving to voxels? lol. They are already using voxels. They can make the worlds as large as they want without any impact from voxels because there is only a certain "Scope" to what has to be rendered at any given time.
You misread what I said.. I am talking about what they had going for EQN prior to moving to voxels. If there isnt a performance hit then explain why Landmark runs like crap? On top of that as you move the game streams in new voxel sections which also causes a performance hit. Then that brings up the problem of how terrible the LOD at distance is... I wouldnt be surprised in the least if EQN gets scrapped again.
 

 What do you mean Landmark runs like crap? I have no issues at all running Landmark. Like Butter. Smooth average 55 to 70 fps maxed.  Perhaps an upgrade for you?


Sigh. There is well known issues with frame rates that even the devs have acknowledged.

Covering up issues never helped anyone.

What i meant was there isnt any performance hit to adding more world space It will be the same performance because the client doesn't need to know much outside its "chunk".

Now going from straight up pollys to Voxels would of been a huge hit to performance initially but i think that the possibilities with voxels far out way any hurdles they may need to overcome.

Yeah, Planetside 2's maps are quite big also. You dont appreciate how big they really are because you have vehicles.

Or gave it structure. More than final fantasy did.

Armor Grants Abilities not stats... So its more than just a cosmetic thing.

1)best action fast paced mmorpg combat  i have ever seen after tera(whether you can handle it or not) WARNING FOR NOOBS, CASUALS, WHINERS AND HATERS: don't enter wildstar if you can't aim/dodge or have high reflexes, it is challenging not like any other game you have played each and every CC SKILLS can be dodged or countered with a diffrent mean whether it is disarm ( you have to jump and run to take your disarmed weapon from ground,stun (just spam f key not a very good counter but np),knockdown( use the dodge button), blind( use cc debuff skill), tethered (destroy the tether) and more can't remember 2)best housing system until now in any game i have ever seen( you can even have secret dungeons to enter for yourself and your neighbors only to loot O_O, low gravity mountains and full customizable/editable items) 3)new ideas (paths, classes(medic, spellslinger and esper), new races( mordesh(zombie like), mechari(robot like), chua(hamster like) ) all in a sci fi cartoonish humourish themepark niche hard core mmorpg called wildstar 4) best pve i have ever seen in any game you got lots of things to do (  challenges,quests,dungeons,adventures,raids(20 and 40 men),jumping puzzles and dailies) within different zones and monsters 5) i would say their pvp too is enourmous it is HUGE (3 different battlegrounds, 1v1,3v3,5v5 arenas, 40v40 warplots and world pvp between opposite factions) 6) the limited action set + amps+ tiers + role(dps,heal and tank) makes you different than any other guy with the same class you are 7) deep crafting system (mining, relic hunter, weaponsmithing,tailoring, cooking, gathering, harvesting, can't remeber the rest 8)best business model considered to be the second game that uses that model after eve online you simply buy the game but then you can get something called CREDD easily from in game gold and pay your monthly fee so you can simply play it free to play 9)with the quickest fixing and balancing response i have ever seen in any mmorpg believe me the DEVS ARE LISTENING AND HONEST 10)cinematics,dev speaks, trailers are on their site ( watch them and you will get everything you want to know)colours and art work are amazing maybe for me but it might shut off some of you. 11)This game in my opinion will not go f2p anytime soon and if they changed the model it might go b2p (actually if you played the game wisely and smartly you might end up playing the game b2p) so stop whining/crying about f2p, it isn't going to happen + it is a niche mmo mostly for hardcores just like eve online. ..Thanks for reading and those were my pros for wildstar please stay  tuned for my cons on wildstar.

According to you. The things you listed aren't things that everyone might like. So if those things don't interest them, just how exactly does PS2 blow Destiny out of the water? At the end of the day none of the things you listed matter one bit. If you were a "gamer" the only thing that would really matter is, "is it fun?" Also how exactly are you judging the longevity of a game that isn't even out yet? What is your conclusion based around? That PS2 is a pvp game? That it has been out longer?
Yes according to me - my post is my personal opinion and view.

You are 100% correct - things I stated are my preference - and some might not like them, such is the nature of personal opinion.

If massive scale or PvP is not to someone's liking - they won't like PS2 - it's simple.

I am judging longevity of the game by scale and number of players participating - if the game has massive battles with 100s of players - I tend to play those games for years.

Small group oriented FPS games with lobbies and small maps - I tend to play for a month and never go back to them.

Again - this is 100% my personal preference and is not meant to be representative of anything else.

For me PS2 is far better than Destiny as far as FPS games go due to bigger battles, *much* better PvP and massive scale.

100% my opinion - don't take it for anything more.

Exactly.

You can pretty up the term however you like, the simple fact of the mater is you gain in game advantage with real money. 

It even has gambling essentially with the treasure boxes, that's pretty sketchy right there too, gambling innately in a game like that seems like a major red flag.


And yet its not as bad as the guys that buy $1000 swords that own everything in eastern games.

If i had my way there would be a flat sub fee or box price and that would be that, But thats not the age we live in anymore.

Why isn't this pay to win?  It seems like honestly the people who are saying it is are winning by a landslide right now.


This isn't pay to win because its falls into the same category as convenience items.

Pay to win is where you can directly pay for "power" and/or isn't available by normal game mechanisms.

People will buy these boxes. For every person that says they despise pay to win there is 5 more that will shut their trap and spend. Why do you think gold sellers are still in business if everyone despises them? Because there is demand.

That's why every business tries to push the tolerance of whats "pay to win". because its good for business.
