He does go on to say they are having some internal problems and it would be better if he left the situation.

Some people think that grinding equals fun. Doing the same things over and over again.

Why is that?

I'm very happy to see that many MMOs allow us to buy things instead of grinding for them. IMO everything in a game should be able for purchasing. Equipment, races, levels and what have you.

How is it any different the playing FPS games where you shoot and kill things?

I am playing neverwinter with a friend right now, pretty Fun game but now i am searching for something in between and to relax, for me that means something grindy. Best would be something recent with good geaphics. Is there something like this out there between all this quest hub games and storylines?

I hope you can help me to find what I am searching for :-)

There are plenty of traditional grinders out there, they are mostly from eastern developers however.

Aion still has a pretty good grind, similarly C9 is pretty grindy.

I think the link speaks a lot about the game...

I think the link speaks about entitled gamers and how they cant cut and paste in to the search bar.

I read that Trion's role is limited to publisher and have little (if any) actual role in changing any of the game and are limited to only providing feedback to XL.  Does anyone have any information about this?

They have no impact on development outside of localization.
Expect long waits for patches and content updates because they are at the mercy of Korea.

The GPU is the Radeon R9 285.  From the specs, it looks like it should be basically equivalent to a Radeon R9 280, except with lower power consumption and a mildly updated feature set.  It probably has a smaller die, which would save AMD money.  As the first 28 nm GPU, Tahiti was also the least efficient, so there is room to improve there.  AMD has set the MSRP to $250, and it looks like they may be discontinuing the Radeon R9 280.  Plenty of R9 280s are well below $250, so the R9 285 looks to be priced not to sell, at least initially.

On the CPU side, things are less exciting.  We have three new CPUs to talk about.  The most interesting one is the FX-8370.  Basically, take an FX-8350, add 100 MHz, and you have an FX-8370.  That's it.  There's also the FX-8370E, which is a 95 W version of the same thing, and the FX-8320E, which is a 95 W version of the old FX-8320.  Bringing down power consumption is welcome, of course, but it looks like there's not much to see here.

Perhaps a more exciting upcoming launch is Haswell-E, which will be the desktop version of Intel's next generation Xeon E5 chips.  But credible rumors put this launch as happening on the Friday before Labor Day weekend, which seems timed to minimize publicity.  That's the sort of thing that you do if you know that the part is terrible.  I'm not sure how Intel could have messed up the chip unless DDR4 simply isn't ready for prime time.

How credible are the rumors?  Haswell-E is the first part to use DDR4, so early DDR4 memory basically just has to work with Haswell-E and that's it.  Furthermore, the launch of Haswell-E is the first time that it makes sense to use DDR4.  Memory manufacturers selling DDR4 aren't bound by Intel's launch dates, and can launch DDR4 whenever they want.  So why exactly did New Egg list DDR4 memory as releasing on August 29?  They seem to have subsequently changed some of the DDR4 release dates to September 11, so maybe the rumors aren't as credible, or maybe Intel simply decided to delay the launch.

Whats your take on the lower end Intel cpus having less PCI-E lanes?

Now to deal with the combat issue..  Many love and want "twitch" action combat..  while many (such as myself) enjoy auto targeting..  Here is an OLD working idea.. GIVE PLAYERS THE CHOICE what they want..

There is no real choice.
Players will gravitate to the system that poses the least resistance or has advantages in their favor.

An epic "boss" that can just be tag locked instead of having to aim is going to be the only choice in town.

What i don't understand is they had free form classes, now apparently they have an arch type design?

Yes the KS failed imagine that. I think they had 8 backers...

But every time I watch that video I laugh  -

You havnt seen?

There's nothing on the horizon that i'm interested in because its a new age of mmorpgs, and they don't make the type of games i like anymore anyway.

Having said that EQN looks fun and i guess i am anticipating that, Even if its a 3 month throw away i would be happy.

Crossfire, like SLI, is very heavily dependent upon driver magic to scale properly.  While it's possible for game developers to sabotage Crossfire and SLI (e.g., by having an engine pause when rendering to try to time when a new frame starts), it's not possible for game developers to implement it.  That relies on video drivers, and often relies on driver optimizations on a per-game basis.

AMD and Nvidia don't have time to optimize drivers for every single GPU they've ever made for every single game.  Instead, they focus on a handful of high-profile games, especially games that are used in video card reviews.  And they also focus only on recent cards; once a card is off the market, they don't need to keep optimizing drivers for it to get you to buy it.

This is why people recommend against buying two mid-range or upper mid-range cards for Crossfire or SLI.  You're better off with a single high end card, even if it's only 50% faster, as you'll get that 50% in every single game rather than having to rely on per-game driver optimizations.

I realize that, But im saying these games were scaling well before previously.

If WS was selling like hotcakes, and the playerbase was growing and new servers were being stood up because there were so many new players - none of this would have happened - the new content would have been churned out as fast as possible.

The issue is why continue to feverishly develop content for a game that's dwindling?

It would make no sense at all - which is why they're slowing the dev cycle WAY down - they need to figure out how to stay profitable first and foremost - this is a fight for survival.

Wildstar started development back in 2005 - been in works for 9 years- the game was made for an OLD era of MMORPGs. If WS released back in 2009/2010 it would be seeing AMAZING success.

But the times have changed and Carbine failed to adjust to the new times, they released a game in 2014 that was years past it's target market.

It's a huge problem - not sure how they can recover.

This just reinforces that "when its ready" is not the best methodology, Having a properly planned out target margin with time investment vs profit study is the only sensible thing to do.

Good thing it'll be F2P.

I'd sure as hell never spend money on it.

And that's the reason i don't understand why this game gets so much hate.
You could play this game bitching and moaning all day long and it would cost you nothing
except your time and possibly some pride.

Ive been experiencing some strange fps with my hardware for a few months now which i believe was working pretty well only a few months ago..(might just be different games i'm playing now)

I've noticed in some games i get even or worse performance running crossfire over a single card which is frustrating. Ive checked all the connections, drivers, power, and cooling.

OS:Win 8.1
GFX: 280x Crossfire
Cput I7 920 @ 3.8ghz

Trying games with eyefinity on/off doesn't really effect the scaling.

Anyone know if this is common among ati crossfire users?

I should probably add i get 30 fps in eyefinity for most games(ultra), Does that sound about right for this type of configuration?

Can someone seriously explain me, why is it taking so long ?

They say they are westernizing the game. What does it even mean, beyond translating ?

Is the game played with chopsticks instead of mouse, and you are reviving monsters instead of killing them, and quests are done reverse where you give quest and NPC does the quest ?

I mean what. Is it not the same game ? Can we not play the same game as Koreans ?

"Westerners" do not like foreign culture apparently. Thus, these things apparently need to be removed from the game.

If you look at most old games like EQ1, Asheron's Call, Anarchy Online. They had very consistant content updates. Hell Asheron's Call had monthly updates for 14 years tell it just went FTP. I think the developers now days think that once they release a game they only new content they ever will bring out is an expansion, and as a long time gamer and i think many would agree that we very much enjoy having new content to explore and discover.
Coding now is way complex. To release monthly content is almost impossible. Funcom tried it with TSW, Trion tried it with Defiance (just two examples) and so far failed to keep up the quality.   And i wouldn't call GW2 living content something to brag about given the scope of content they release.
See they have these people called "designers" that actually build the content not coders..
There is still coding involved.

I would assume, but that's a direct quote from a dev. [which i would have to dig up @ wildstar central].
