Is a great game. Played it for about 8 months (beta+live).
But i just wore it out, i played it so much.

At the top its a gear grind yes but its bearable in the sense that you can be so flexible with you equipment farming instances and raids to make those items that really complement you abilities.

But that wasn't enough to make me stay, Watching your stats go up to farm more gear really doesn't do it for me anymore.

In regards to animations, It really is an RPG at heart and i think people really want shooter type game play after playing in kings-mouth. there is an emphasis on movement but it's a tab target game. (don't forget reticule mode)

  Nope.
  Nope what?
  Your statement is false.
Which part, the "weapons always visible" or "can be changed via costume" ? Because both will be true for launch. How it is or isnt right now in beta is irrelevant, hence NDA. What will be for launch is all that matters.
You cant say something that "will be in the future" is factual. Lmao. They have said nothing specific about the launch parameters of Weapon cosmetics to my knowledge.
  Your statement is false.
All will be revealed When its launched and people can see whats in and whats not. I still stand by my statements however. "You can teleport to the moon, the technology is just not invented yet" is not factual or relevant statement.
What are you talking about? Teleporting technology is useable in WildStar and the moons of Nexus are available for exploration!

Originally posted by Lord.Bachus Dear Bill..   Wildstar is aiming at the gogogo crowd, the once not caring about the content but only interested in the completion..  I think they will love the experience.     for everyone else that actually cares about content.. There is ESO. ( this was meant as a joke)  and i love jokes.
that is the worst part. I really love Wildstars graphics, humor, and mechanics, but i hate the lack of creativity Carbine showed with the questing. That killed it for me. Yeah there is ESO for me to care about content but i really wanted to play Wildstart. I will probably play WIldstar if it goes F2P or drops the sub because i will not pay for that boring filler they call questing.
you could already play it free with the creed system.......

If cred cost 10,000 platinum how could you possibly "play for free' from the beginning?
Your going to have to shell out until you have enough skills to farm that kind of currency.

Does that mean MoP is an optional component?

Still play this game, So glad it did not die when incarus (?) went down because it fills that post apoc mmorpg void for me.

Let me explain you idea behind twitch combat in mmo. Maybe you be more receptive when you understand it :

Combat is something you do over and over , for hundreds of thousands times in course mmo.

Turn based combat can really easily be broken down into pattern. So let say for normal mob : 1 , 2 , 2 , 4 , 1 , 2 ...

This turns into boredom. And since the combat is the majority of play , and its pattern repetition. Developers decided to make combat more twitch , because twitch is unpredictable (more or less)

Playing a certain game that shall remain nameless, I can already see patterns in its "action combat" down to waiting 10 seconds then position myself correctly to interrupt a mobs aoe then back stab.

I wouldn't worry too much, Most of these so called "action games" are just cleverly concealed tab targeting.

In a nut shell, if you can run Skyrim on Ultra at 60 + FPS on your computer you will run ESO on Ultra at about 20-30 FPS, MMO's are a different beast, it can not be done with our current technology both on our end and server side.

We might have Skyrim type graphics in a MMO running at 60 + FPS with 100 people playing in about 5-10 years, remember 15 years ago games like Ultima online took a desktop computer to run, now we can run Ultima even World of Warcraft on tables & smartphones.

That video makes such a weak sauce argument and relies heavily on the limitations of the gamebryo engine.

The only argument worth merit is the item variants on player models.

And while youre at it, if youre not stupid at getting your computer infected with junk on a regular basis then you might as well go to control panel, user accounts, change user account control settings, drop the slider to the bottom (Never notify), click ok, and disable the warning when it comes up in the action center and reboot. Tada, everything runs as administrator from now on and no more hassles.

I wouldn't recommend that.

Malicious programs would love that because they can run potentially harmful code without notifying users to its presence or to elevate privileges.

Im going to compare WildStars combat to WoW (and most games that derive their combat from that). If youve read this post and think what im describing is a bad system, id love to hear why.

In WildStar you can tab to select targets, but you can only lock onto them (if you chose) in PvE. In PvP you have to manually face your target at all times. In WoW you always lock onto the target, so wherever they move as long as they are within range of your attacks and there are no line of sight issues you can hit them.

In WildStar all attacks can be dodged. For instance, if something fires a Fireball at you you can move out of its way. In WoW you cannot through player skill dodge attacks. All attacks are dodged through the game calculating a hit/miss.

In WildStar most (or all) attacks have an AoE effect. So your default attack hits whats in front of you in an area resembling a thin rectangle. Meaning if there is more than one target in front of you you will hit them both. So if there is an enemy to the left of you and one to the right of you, you could reposition yourself to attack both at the same time. In WoW all attacks except those designated as AoE will attack only 1 target only. So when you shoot a Fireball, if there are things between you and your target that Fireball will fly THROUGH them and then only hit the target you had selected.

In WildStar you can only bring 8 offensive skills to a fight. So even though at level 50 you will have 30+ skills, you have to pick and chose which skills you like or want. You can change this outside of combat freely, but once youre in combat youre locked to your choices. This especially in PvP makes the flow of combat significantly smoother as there isnt a massive diarrhea of abilities being used by each player. In WoW all skills/spells are available at all times once you get them, forcing you to manage 20+ skills at the same time to be truly effective (for most classes, Rogues get off easy).

In WildStar you have interrupt armor which has to be knocked off first before you are vulnerable to crowd control abilities. Bosses can also be crowd controlled, but require multiple players to coordinate. In WoW anyone can crowd control you at any time, and youre welcome to roam the world sheeped, blinded, rooted, disarmed, feared and poisoned. There are diminishing returns on subsequent CC's.

...cant say anything..NDA...

Just to clarify: I'm refering to the difficulty level rather then number of players in raiding.   Like a one person Titan Extreme mode, or as challenging as raiding is in other games,  but lasts for 1-2 hours each solo raid. and Not a reward comparable to a 12 man raid,  but a partial reward towards a 12 man raid item drop.   Like 1 legendary upgrade crafting item, or a 1/10th currency towards 1 piece of gear from a 12 man raid.
Some people cant see past the end of their noses. If you had this system then "whats the point"? You go to these solo raids to get shinies for what?, To stand in cities and look cool?
What's the point of doing it in a group? To go stand in cities and look cool? Why does being in a group and doing it "social" justify the activity? Why is progression the purview of groups only? That doesn't seem logical to me at all.
Because these "Raid level" items are used as a power leverage to get through and push team based content. Whats a solo player that farms a solo raid @ 1/12 item efficiency per week going to use them for? killing pigs on maggies farm? If they started to make solo raid progression i think you should really start evaluating why you are playing mmorpgs especially considering usually you are farming a lackluster interior level for $15 a month.
That's a huge load. It's only to push team based content because that's the only content made to be engaged by it. Why not make the content scalable. Why is it the power items used to push team based content is allowed to trivialize the rest of the content? The entire premise is arbitrary and subjective.

Because if content was scaleable then it would be essentially a moving goal post.
You would never get a head and the illusion of you being a mouse on a wheel would be unveiled.

I still question why you would pay for an mmorpg when you play by yourself. and im not talking about solo vs group here, I'm talking about gear that never reaches its full potential or in your case gear that is negligible because content will always have a static difficulty.

If its for fun, Then there are cheaper and more engaging single player options like say...Diablo that fit the bill much better.

I have certain games that I always fire up depending on what I feel like playing at the time.

MMOs, World of Warcraft. Give me all the crap you want. Been playing on and off for almost ten years now. I know the game inside and out.

RTS, Warlords Battlecry. Great game. Like the fact that I can keep my hero.

Hack and Slash, Path of Exile. Solid "build" mechanism. Linking skills is neat too.

FPS - Single Player, Hitman and Half Life series.

Now for what I need help on.

FPS - Multiplayer, no idea. I did TFC for a long time. More recently I've done TF2 and BF3. TF2 is fine. But, the crafting system is clunky to me and the cartoony graphics are a bit meh to me for being an FPS game. BF3 was alright, but once I opened up the guns that I was decent at, I hit a wall. And after they killed C&C, I despise EA. I did Planetside 2 for a little bit, but that didn't seem to stick.

I'd be interested in an multiplayer FPS that has some sort of leveling system. Or something that has unlocks for in-game achievements. Whether it be an experience bar or number of headshots. Something that leads me on. Also something that has decent graphics. Not looking for Crysis 3, but something that I can exercise my i5, 670 FTW, and 16gb of RAM. Extra points would be scored for something that allows me to customize my player; such as better accuracy with handguns or access to 12x scopes. That sort of stuff.

So yea, anything out there worth trying? Perhaps I'll try Planetside 2 again. Really have no intention of returning to Battlefield 3.

Thanks for reading.
