SWTOR has always viewed crafting as something as an afterthought. The first time I heard Daniel Erikson describe the crew skills as things put into the game so you don't HAVE to gather nodes for yourself and do things you'd rather do in game, I groaned. I LOVE crafting. I love gathering/sorting/making gear for me and my guild. I LOVE taking the time to put something together and make a really rare item that can only be gotten after spending 100's of thousands of credits and hours and hours of game time.
To make a crafting system as an after thought in which some items "Proc" after destroying item after item into a higher level item is a joke. Always has been. Don't even get me started on being an Armstech. This change doesn't surprise me one bit. A single player game has no need for a deep rich crafting system. SWTOR is a single player game that you can play with your friends. Their mindset rings true. Crafting is a necessary evil and they tell all their hard core crafters to pound sand with each passing change. I've held to the faith for so long, but I am just about done.
Good thing BioWare is here to tell you how mistaken you are. Crafting is obviously NOT heroic and NOT something you should be investing time in. ;)
Exactly ;)
