I love themeparks. I mostly play themeparks, and spend a ton of time raiding.  FFXIV:ARR is my home right now, and I don't see that changing as long as Yoshi-P is in charge.

I love sandboxes as well, but mainly just for large scale pvp and griefing.

I haven't even heard of this game, so I would put money on agreeing with you and saying not to trust them.
Yea, a game that doesn't release content for 14 months is really the best p2p evur.

I agree with total biscuit.

PLEASE DONT SUCK!!!!!!

No thanks. You wouldn't localize it for west after the JPN release. Wouldn't give an answer when people asked if it was ever coming to west. Already got to play it in fully translated to English thanks to a few people being creative and dedicated.

59.99 lol. You can sit on it and rotate S-E. Next time when your fans ask for something. Respond with something other then silence.

Oh, I think they will localize it and it'll sell like crazy. Why? Supposedly comes bundled with FF15 demo.

^^^

I'll be picking this up since I no longer have a 360/ps3.  It's still a fun game.

Inb4 someone makes a negative comment cuz its XIII

MMOexposed if you have 6000 posts on this website you must already know that certain MMO vets on here don't have a clue. Some of the things I've read and heard regarding difficulty are absurd and many don't know the true meaning of something difficult.

Grind =/= Difficulty

RNG =/= Difficulty

Severe death penalties =/= Difficulty

Testing the players gaming ability = Difficulty

Testing the players group skills = Difficulty

Challenging the player to create strategies = Difficulty

MMO's have evolved, some people refuse to evolve with them.

I'll also add, that just because certain MMO's don't force difficulty upon you, doesn't mean it isn't there.  Many people like to call an MMO easy because section A of it was easy when in fact section B has a lot of difficulty.

It has one of the worst stories I've ever seen but the solid gameplay and decent replay value makes up for it.  That would be my review.
This game took me by surprise.  I'm light level 24 now and still enjoying myself.  3v3 PvP is incredible, not a big fan of 6v6. Strikes are fun, and I'm looking forward to the raid opening on tuesday!!!
If they bring full loot pvp I'd play this.  This game seems like its going to be really similar to GW2 though at this time.

More importantly, ninja is very close...

I doubt you would get Shadows or anything powerful because the combat design is just too limited. If it happens i would imagine it would be a very high level ability to coincide with new content that would probably just aoe and remove them all anyhow.I see Ninja just being like they have done every other class which is sort of copy FFXI but mixing old classes with old ideas,so perhaps a Samurai like single shadow ability with Rogue like invisible or sneak ideas.

I actually just Googled it and see the Ninja will be a Rogue like class,so ya i figured so and the Mudras or whatever is called is likely the same idea as the old Ninja  elemental wheel effects perhaps opening up 50 potency damage based on the elements.

Also the talk of just more maps and more quests is exactly why i am no longer playing,i never liked Wow and i still don't,i much rather prefer  vanilla FFXI 2.0.This design encourages boring solo play.Grouping will remain an instance idea of repeating dungeons again just like Wow.

As far as time consuming content.i would expect just like FFXI that they would speed up leveling to make sure any new player will be in line to buy the xpac sooooo perhaps opening up more dailies limits and perhaps no longer the need to return to the npc.Whatever they do they will make sure any new player will want to get the xpac instead of having to wait to catch up,i guess Ninja may in fact accomplish that anyhow.

I've already spent too much time on this forum typing to FFXI fans, 1.0 fans, etc.  If you don't like modern MMOs, or don't like this game, there's really no point of these insanely stupid paragraphs comparing ARR to either of those games.  You people fail to understand what kind of game it is, and what works in modern MMOs. 99% of the content that you people suggest would just get zerged down, break balance, etc.

When i see posts like these all i can do is shake my head..

He posts it on multiple threads too lol, he doesn't know the real definition of challenge.

Anyway, the carbine train derailed as expected and they're mopping up the errors. Attunements were one of them.  This game is headed straight for f2p at this rate so its smart for them to get as many people into content as possible.

More importantly, ninja is very close...

Wildstar- A game made by derps with egos much larger than their playerbase

"Seriously we have the best freakin MMO out there" - Carbine

How to set your game up for failure ladies and gents:

40 man raiding

Awful optimization

Weak story

Overused voice humor

Spammy spam spam AOE based combat

Not even PS1 was able to pull of battles with 1000+ players and yes they did have battles with over 500 players fighting in one area.

I am highly sceptical of any game having several thousand players in one area at once without lag -  the server bandwidth out to each client would be immense.

You're thinking he actually means 3k people in one little area.  Devs will say big numbers to get the image out there but if 3k people are battling its likely over an entire area.

WoW, EVE, GW2=  pay for advantage? In what world?[/b][/quote]

You can pay for a lvl 90 character in WoW, that is way more P2W than most of these games which just give you a leveling advantage.

Not an advantage....it's a head start. You people and your crybaby posts

^ Little do these people know paid for 90's have not won anything at all, and generally get laughed at quite a bit.

Rift, DDO, EQ2, EQ, WoW, Path of Exile, AoC, TSW, EVE, GW, GW2... I mean really guy? Most legit western MMOs are fine. You wanna play for free you're going to lag behind slightly. Its better than not playing at all, imo.

You can actually pay for an advantage in pretty much every one of these games and some of them are even sub fees. The dumbest part is that people equate this to a F2P change when it is just a generic change in the genre. Most of the P2P games also allow you to buy stuff in the cash shop that gives you a leveling advantage etc.

The only real ripoffs left in the genre are the sub fee games. They charge you for the game, charge you for the expansions, probably charge you for server transfers etc, charge you for some cash shop stuff as well and then also ask for a sub fee. The fact people still argue over this just bothers the heck out of me. The only crooks out there are the sub fee games, the F2P games mostly are a better model (not all of them mind you).

People also seen naive about the reason for sub fees in the first place. They used to be there because of bandwidth and server maintenance costs and to a much lesser degree active GM participation. Over the years these prices have dropped to almost nothing. Every other genre of game has dropped monthly or for those of us old enough to remember it hourly fees at this point. MMORPG are just trying to rook you out of money by asking for a monthly fee unless they have huge GM run events constantly which none of them do. There is no reason on earth any MMORPG should charge a monthly fee unless it happens to include free expansions in which case you are paying for future content.

WoW, EVE, GW2=  pay for advantage? In what world?

Yea I'm playing one.

Yes, already using it. The problem is that I have no reason to throw out any unique armor sets because I could feasibly get any of the jobs to fifty in a short time span. Most of those items cannot be placed in the armory, although they should.

I was never a big fan of the additional retainers thing, since all it will do is punish the people who stick with the game in the long run. World of Warcraft let you buy more bank space in game, or increase the size of your bags. FFXI had gobbie bags. Their concept of inventory is very backwards in FFXIV by comparison.

Yes, there is no unlockable inventory space....

...Only more inventory space than ever was in FFXI or WoW right from the beginning.

[mod edit]

[mod edit]

I'm failing to see the issue here. Unless you fail terribly at inventory management, inventory + 2 retainers is way more than enough.  This entire thread is pointless.

If someone ends up getting all adventuring classes to 50, and he makes a point to collect all the available end game dungeon sets for each class, will the finite inventory space be sufficient in the long run? Please keep in mind that each patch would introduce a new set for each job. Including all accessories, that's a lot of inventory space to handle. Far more than the finite retainers can hold. That also doesn't include potions, food, and other miscellaneous items the player may need to carry with him.

Nothing in my post was worth attacking me over, and Hyanmen is taking things personally where he shouldn't.

This game, like every other raiding mmo I've played, gives you plenty of space to carry extra sets around ontop of your used set whether it be for glamour, nostalgia purposes, whatever.  No game I've played however, is designed around a player storing every gear piece made available in the game for every class, that is not realistic. This is likely been an issue for you, because the overwhelming majority of people don't try hang onto that much gear, especially from dungeons.  Unless this becomes a legit gamebreaking issue, It will not become addressed.
