Sucks to be you.

Go play TERA

OMG....does the lunacy of EA/Bioware have no end?

I loved WoH now I hate it just like WAR, SWTOR....

PUGs versus pre-mades......over and over again.....and whats with worthless healing potions, longer cool downs and worthless tactics?

Oh yeah, the wheel is fixed and rigged like a carnival game.

I am a hardcore player....I leveled fast and did alot of PvP...in fact a ton of PvP.

Let me tell you...hardcore players are leaving SWTOR too.

Its not that its a bad game..on the contrary its a good game.

Unfortunately, like many Bioware products...EA rules Biowares roost and then ruins the game by focusing on stuff nobody cares about (Legacy System) and not fixing PvP, Space Combat, no end game, etc.

Also, with the Secret World and Guild Wars 2...of which I have played BETA in both...who needs SWTOR and its mess of a dictator EA.

EA..the people who ruined WAR and are now ruining Wrath of Heroes (Was good now sucks).

AND you are surprised its a grind?

Asian MMO = Grind

Asian MMO trying to be a western MMO = Grind

I ran like hell from this game when I saw the oversized weapons and over exaggerated combat moves just like every Asian game.

Stop feeding the Troll!

MMODad just wants attention.

I ask fir g=his stuff, but he probably doesnt have any.

/em waves

Well you got me

I cannot get past the stupid looking over sized weapons so common with Asian themed MMOs.....thus I am running like hell away from this one.

However, you guys that like it more power to you and have fun.

Do you have to SPAM for groups?

Subscription based games are FAIL, and GW2 shows that you can have a MMO with no sub that owns allothers.

Also, F2P games that are Pay2Play in disguise such as LOTRO, AoC and others will be FAIL as well.

LONG LIVE THE NO SUB KING OF MMOs GUILD WARS 2!

As good as TERA looks, after playing my first GW2 beta event, I can't justify paying $15 per month to play anything now. Seeing such a highly polished game, without a subscription fee, has spoiled me for good, so I'll revisit this game once it goes free2play.

BINGO! GW2 has changed the MMO standard, as subsription based MMOs are DEAD.

May $15 rest in peace.

I had no issues logging in! STOP being like ABC news and CNN who doctor 911 tapes!

First off, let me say that my expectations before playing were low. This was due to the fact that I did not like the GW2 artwork, as I am not a fan of anything that looks close to an Asian MMO, i.e. pretty boy characters and cutesy tootsie stuff.
Also, because of this I avoided any videos of the game and really did not do much reading on it.

So...Why did I pre-order? Well, it was due to the high quality product that was produced in GW1, and that was my inspiration to buy GW2.

I will make no comparison to GW1, except for quality, as GW2 is a ground breaking standard in the MMO genre as well as in comparision to GW1.

Here is why:

1) Gone are the days of a bunch of MOBs standing around for the simple purpose of you killing them. Instead, every MOB has a purpose. It may be to create a roadblock on a well traveled road, or to take a keep, or control a mine, etc.

2) No more being overwhelmed with quest givers with icons on their heads, and you having an ever growing list of quests stressing you out cuz you have not finished them...

Nope, instead as you explore and travel you will stumble upon events, and these events are not like RIFTS where the same 4 types of "thingies" sprout from the ground...

Nope, instead these events are either in relation to a nearby NPC who you are seeking for the simple fact that you were told for example to support the local townfolk in a variety of manners, whether that be feeding cows or watering crops, engaging in snowball fights with kids to keep them out of the towns hair, or seeking insight and wisdom into various Spirits of Nature, etc.

Furthermore, other events are dynamic and pop up in relation to nearby structures, places, or things...such as an attack on a nearby crossroads keep.

3)These events/quests are immersive enough to keep you busy to the point that you forget about what level you are. This is the first MMO I have played in 12 years that I didnt care about levels...I JUST PLAY. In fact, I dont even concern myself with worrying about my skills, traits etc...I just play! And by doing so the unlocks will flow like water adn I allocate them as they come available as I like.

4) Despite, all of the above the game is challenging yet productive to the point where it is not a grind...I HATE GRINDS..and this game is not a grind. The reason being, even though you might have to attack the same keep to drive out the attackers several times, the MOBS actually have an AI...sometimes they run up the stairs to attack the NPCs there, and sometimes they dont depending on how the fight is going.
Also, I have seen a large group of players get steamrolled with dead players everywhere, and sometimes a balanced fight where its back and forth.

5) Great community! The games design lends itself to players helping others....GONE are the days of spamming for groups. AND I HATE spamming for groups....thus, in GW2 you dont need to! The design of the game is that everyone is contributing to some degree or another, and you get rewards in relation to such. Even reviving other players who have fallen gives XP. And its common to see a big fight, but with players reviving those that have fallen behind the battle line. Very realistic....and not like in other MMOs where players ignore or dont have the ability to revive.

6) The combat is what you make it, you can play a fast fluid style or like me a less mobile style. Its up to you. Moreover, you can add traits and skills as you unlock them to create your own type of class..that right..gone are the days of the perfect build! Instead there are vast combinations fo builds all based on how you allocate your points, i.e. there is no tree...you pick what you want and have points for when you want and when you can. For example, I play a Norn Warrior...and you can bet that no 2 Norn Warriors are alike skillwise.

7) Graphics are beautiful, and I even like the oversized weapons (I usually dont) and that because they are neither too large or too small. They are the perfect size.

8) This is just the tip of the iceberg, the game is too deep and vast to touch upon everything. However, I will emphasize...GONE are the days where you are stressing about "keeping up with the jones's", i.e. if I dont play I will be left behind - WoW, WAR, AoC, SWTOR.... Instead, this is finally an MMO that does not use gimmicks to keep you playing and paying.

It keeps you playing cuz its fun, it makes you want to play cuz its fun not because you wil be left behind. And best of all there is no monthly subscription!

And to the naysayers who complain about the possible pay2win.....I say BULL HONKEYS! The game is so much fun teh last thing on your mind is buying anything other than what you earn in game and/or with in game gold. The only players I see wanting to buy stuff are those who in other MMOs level to cap in 24hrs, want everything now now now. Well, let them..because its more fun to play and earn it the old fashion way then to try and do it the lazy way.

I admit, I do not know much about the cash shop or even its specifics, as I base my knowledge of that on the whiners I see complaining about it. But even if it is to that extreme, which I doubt....its a non issue because this game is not like other MMOs....where you get frustrated and pissed.

Instead, it fun...challenging fun that doesnt even maek you thing or ponder all those other negative things...you just play because you want to and its......FUN!

Anyone who thinks SWTOR's PvP covers large expanses of ground is seeing the world thru their own rose tinted glasses...anyone who PvP'd on the PLANET Ilum will tell you that you might have traveled long disstnaces to get to the fighting, but the actual fighting covers a small area and consisted of 2 groups staring at each other until one side flinched and attacked while the other ran away...back and forth back and forth.....Stare at each other for 2 hours reading players type in chat "this sucks, this is boring" , until one side attacks and the other runs away...then 15 minutes later everyone creeps back to the same spot to stare at each other...FUN!

Grinding can be good or bad, in SWTOR its bad grinding, for example, playing the same old playfields in PvP (Huttball, Voidstar, and Civil War) over and over again just to get a few tokens towards a gear goal that will takes months of such repitition.

The general negative definition of Grinding is to repeat the same task over and over again in the same environment for trvial reward, thus requiring a large time investment of tedium to accomplish your item goal. Then repeat all again for your next item.

The re-use of interiors meaning the interior environs are "cookie cutter" not created by creativity but random generation thus creating duplication to the point of it being too too obvious.

Star Trek Online does this and that is a F2P game...not a subscription game such as SWTOR.

In addition, the MMO Design Sin of a negative grind can be found in the following examples:

Warhammer Online = Failing and down to one US server. Grinding for tokens in the largest PvP environ ever....Open World PvP, and if you didnt play and pay your way to high renown from the get go you are screwed because your gear just wont compete with the gear of players who stuck with the game to grind as each server dropped off the radar in fail.

Age of Conan = Had to go F2P because there was nothing to do at max level, the gear grinding sucked, Raids and Dungeons Sucked, and if you did not have high Tier PvP gear by playing and paying back when it was a sub you are screwed now and cannot compete. Also, AoC's expansion can be easily defined by the negative grind of banging rocks together in Bori......FUN!

First, let me say i did enjoy my time in BETA and the last 5 months playing Class Quests.

However, this game cost millions of dollars and is considered AAA Title, yet "re-uses" interiors of building the same way non AAA titles do.

Another thing, once you get to 50 the game is designed with a priority of keeping you playing by GRINDING.

Instead of FUN being the priority.

Also, with each patch and upgrade there is yet another fiasco where the patch or upgrade breaks the game, causes roll backs, and then the roll backs fail.

its one big mess not worthy of AAA titles.

Finally, just to give you an example of the poor design of SWTOR....lets say for example you are a Sith Warrior Juggernaut. In the past 5 months you had to re-prioritize yoru main stat beacause game updates would change your class and thus mandate what stat is now your priority and all that hard earned gear is mostly worthless, cuz u need to find gear with the new priority stat.

Furthermore, most gear never gives you the stats you need, because just as an example with Juggernaut gear it keeps forcing accuracy down your throat! LOL

The last straw was increasing ranged classes damage 5%....increasing damage on an already OP class is fail and demonstrates the devs have no clue.

I fear, WoW will be living far longer and prospering long after SWTOR dies.

Looks like a typical Anime MMO with over-exaggerated movements, weapons, and cutesy tootsy characters, npc's and other crap.

Avoiding this one like the plague.

I didnt like it in Closed BETA but LOVE IT curenntly in OPEN BETA.

Also, I spent $9.99 each for Volrik and Bax....

Hey! Its Warhammer I want to support my favorite IPs (Warhammer and Warhammer 40K), plus game companys do not provide a public service, they are here to make money.

The cheap peeps need to dust the cobwebs off their wallets and buy a Hero for $9.....

I feel this game is for serious and mature Warhammer players, and if the store and its design keeps brats away all the better.

I am 49 and I pwn the young folks many times...must be my cybergenic implants...

Dont get old go cybergenics!!!!

Probably my big cup of coffee is my secret weapon....

I loved Warhammer Online until I got to Tier 4 and realized I needed to grind tokens for good gear that took forever, also I am sick of paying subscriptions for any game, then seeing how all the F2P players were in T1 and all the vets like me in T4, but T2 and T3 was empty.....not gonna win F2P folks with 2 empty tiers.

They need to open F2P thru T3 and add more store items.

As far as Wrath of Heroes is concerned its a BETA! I hated it as a CLOSED BETA, but loved it in OPEN BETA...WHY?

Because I can see its potential now in Open Beta....upon release, more classes and races then WAR ever had and hopefully more than 3 maps for IMHO anything under 8 maps is fail....3 maps triple fail.

Get working BIOWARE!

They should not delete posts as i have argued with Steam abotu that kind of stuff...but regardless, I would have to say that $9.99 is nothing to spend on a game, as you only need 1 Hero....for those who are alt addicts, they are rotating full featured as well as free Heros. Moreover, the game is more condusive to TRYING OUT FOR FREE the Heroes and after finding one you like then and only then buying it so you can upgrade it. You can also, transfer some of the things from one Heroe to another btu not all.

I would rather spend $9-$18 on a great F2P game then $59 for some of the regular poor and mediocre games that are being sold.

Why anyone is even playing a cut up version of WAR yet alone a p2w version ill never know.

Because it blows WAR away and is a totally different game other than its Warhammer and its races and classes.

AND ITS FREE...WAR is NOT and its an MMO...BIG DIFFERENCE

So we agree that money is being exchanged for temporary/permanent progression boosts. It is now mainly a matter of opinion as to what exactly pay2win is.

Also Kost you are ignoring the fact that the game sells chests that have a chance of giving out rare mastery abilities. I only played for an hour, but in that hour I did not see any other way of obtaining these spells/abilities other than buying them.

NO NO NO....there is no progression boost from XP and Gold Boost purchases....the XP and Gold amount is so trivial regardless of whether you earn it, win it by spinning the game machine, or buying it. Its worthless and a waste.

As far as rare mastery abilities, who cares, you dont need them....I pwn players with my measly 12th level toon with only 3 mastery points LOL!

Cuz.....I know how to play and dont give a darn what others do.....The game is all about teamwork, skill, tactics and knowing your Hero.

I could spend $100 right now and gain no advantage over another player...I would just own a bunch of heroes, skins, and probably would not be able to spend that much cuz the gold and XP boosters are junk.....a waste of money.

I dont know about the chests, and could careless about what they offer, as my money limit is what I already spent and it wont matter if another player has these cuz my Orc band Rules! I love the fact that Black Orcs get a grouping bonus...of course we do we are a horde!
