MechWarrior Online - Oldschool PC gamers should be gushing
General Discussion « MechWarrior Online 1/31/12 5:14:22 PM
really hoping they wont screw up what could have been an awesome game. I remember playing Starlance league in MS Zone with Mechwarrior 3 .. was amazing.. actually i got to the final in Boston where they were giving away some leather coats and an Harley Davidson if i remember.. but since i was not from the US Canada and/or MExico a friend of mine went in my place eheh.. so much fun and only using a 56k modem, lag shooting.. what a blast. If that worked back then, i bet wont be too hard and/or costy to implement something like that nowadays with good anti hacks code etc.. Lets hope Mecharrior Online will be good.. |

After playing SWTOR it made me wonder why mmorpgs are still around?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/31/12 5:07:35 PM
The games are focusing on the psychological needs of the players in diferent ways than before..
Achieving, ---- this requires online gaming. Explorer, Social, ---- this requires online gaming. Collector, Pavlov/reward.
From the shown psychological factors, only 2 require online gaming.. thus a game can focus on beeing single player oriented ( with all the plus in terms of development costs and technology used to keep a game playable with xxx players in the same screen or zone area ) while giving limited online aspects that fulfill those 2 points. Thats what swtor did.. and most games are doing now.. and will go on while its profitable, eventually adapting to our RLs needs. What swtor did wrong, was hitting hard the Achieving factor to players playing the Republic faction of the game.. and even a bit of the Social factor aswel. And when a player looses those factors or part of them, he realizes he/she is not addicted anymore to an online paying environment and its only supporting the big cow.. Simple as that. |

MMORPG gamers are never happy with the games they have, they are ONLY happy about the games that havnt released.
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 1/31/12 10:39:01 AM
wrong. MMORPG gamers know what a good game is or a bad one is.. they dont eat the first trash coming to their table. Most really have good hopes about the games beeing released.. but unfortunaly most games after beeing released dont meat those expectations for several reasons.. not MMORPG's gamers fault.. |

Suporting Full Loot pvp servers too. Give some true meaning to pvp instead of the usual crap wihtout penalities most games have. Theres a reason why EVE pvp is still the best.. and thats called total loss. You get shot down, you loose your ship, and if podded even your implants aswel. Full loot pvp servers all the way. |

did you guys read teala's gaming blog about swtor? its misinformed and such about swtor.
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/26/12 3:58:10 AM
dont bash Teala.. she has a lot of good points on her blog entries about swtor flaws. Most of the stuff written there honestly portrait SWTOR and if you think otherwise, you either blind or didnt play swtor. Of course the game has many good points too.. but once you buy it and start playing it.. the flaws become obvious and slowly grow to a point you just get fed up with so much crap. |

Originally posted by sapphen Hmm.. well after playing huttball and all the warzones on a daily basis for one month facing premades and not, tagging along organized and disorganized groups i do have a pretty good idea of what is a good warzone or not.. and that is not even an emotional answer.. its just a simple yes/no this works/this doesnt statement. Huttball warzone is crap, literaly, its boring as hell after a while, and seems out of place in swtor. Theres a reason why most of the time the players after joinning an huttball game, drop it asap leaving usually only the new players in. While for you might be fun, after you run it 50 100 150 times.. you just cannt stand it anymore.. while that fed up feeling doesnt occur on the other 2 warzones. why? because its badly designed. You have to listen over and voer again the same crappy advert when game starts, and you feel like beeing part of a circus instead of a warzone in the Star Wars Universe. About fighting the same faction.. for me i didnt had any issues with it.. id shot down an individual of the same faction as easly as one of the oposite faction without issues.. but for a lot of people i met ingame.. that did create issues later.. maybe because there were lot of childish individuals playing swtor.. |

huttbal is one of the worst things in swtor imo. first, you have to battle often members of your own faction wich leads to issues later when ppl are putting up teams etc.. it creates a non friendly enviroment for some people.. second.. it favors some types of classes and organized teams over the rest. its very frustrating playing it when half of your team doesnt have any idea about what is it, or when half of the team prefers to kill the enemy instead of actually playing the game. it was a bad idea.. |

Bioware/EA worst company ever
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/21/12 3:03:43 PM
i wouldnt go as far as to call it the worst ever.. god knows we have Failcom and Soe for that.. Lets say that the EA greed scrwed a good company like Bioware.. and we aproaching the true here.. Look to what games Bioware used to do before EA came in.. and what they doing now.. and the quality control they have now on the produced software.. But callign them the worst company ever.. i do not agree.. |

SWTOR's endgame is an absolute disaster.
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/21/12 2:50:24 PM
good post op. but opther than the pvp issues, the majority of the players have not reached the end game phase, thus they have no idea whatsoever of what is expecting them.

Bioware is NOT listening....(or are they?)
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/21/12 5:46:44 AM
they are not listening.. nor they care.. its just marketing bullshite to try to save a sinking ship. IF they would care, they would have rolledback all valor won after 1.1 was deployed. It is not that hard, would only affect players who engaged in the even more borked after 1.1 pvp system, and everyone would understood why. funny is.. all theese issues, the classes mirror unbalance, the delays, the should have a bracket for no premade matches thing, the limit the number of each faction on llum thingy and so on, were issues they were warned about long ago, and they didnt give a shite about it.. now they come with the crap.. we listening..? lol |
|
|
well indeed it looks like. what do we have in the near future.. hmm.. firefall.. this one looks interesting.. some SOE craps coming, more from Failcom.. hmm... D3 that looks like a game that should have been released 10 years ago or almost.. Jagged Alliance mmo might come.. mb a Mechwarrir online too.. that would be interesting. |

Originally posted by oubers and you would be absolutely right about it. the best way to get pve gear shouldnt be through pvp playing. i agree.. thats another of their flaws. the whole concept of pvp gear vs pve gear is an old debate.. should pvp gear only work in a pvp enviroment? should pve gear be useseless in pvp? should the best gear only be provided to those willing to spend countless hours raiding? |
|

when people had to farm valor for almost 1 month doing warzones to reach the battlemaster rank playing the underdog faction, they dont find funny nor unimportant the oposite faction getting the same amount the valor in 1 day.. its legitimate that those individuals feel cheated and stop supporting the company who allwed this to happen using the only possible method.. wich is to cancel their subscription. we all can say like.. yes.. but will it affect your gameplay so much? answer is simple.. yes it will, because other than some buggy raids and dungeons going under some funny military terminology, the best gear a player can get is through pvp. |
