Regions get translated into Mountains/fields/forests/etc regions with tons of zones.

Systems get translated into different zones that are all separate and have different maps, different local monsters, etc.

Warp is replaced by roads, while on roads you gain +75% movement. Roads are everywhere, esp between dif zone entrances/exits

Warp scramble is simply a spell you cast to get rid of that road buff on your "target" ;)

Security status can remain exactly the same as it is, except now as guards, and bowmen as gate guns.

Low sec has better mining/logging nodes

Stations become towns that you enter/player housing in every single town. there are thousands of towns.  (you are in your room the whole time like eve)

missions are missions!

All gear can be sold, some gear drops (meta 2-4 pirate faction gears), most gear is crafted, t2 gear is crafted.  Gear gets destroyed and replaced all the time.

R&D = npc wizards guilds!

automatic manufacture and automatic research = hired smithies and weavers and wizards working whether you are online or not and take the same time to set up (ie 1 second).

Blueprints = patterns

FW = FW

Skill points = Skill points, could be translated so easily.

if you translated the combat system of eve to fantasy, a lot of people would get bored quickly...  You'd be better off using a different one from some other game

It's a change from identifying yourself as your class, to identifying yourself as your character.

My bet is that the community does not approve, Star Wars and vanilla wow will get thrown around, and everyone will be left wondering if team fortress 2 counts as an MMO.

TERA seems to have an ok community at the moment.  Let's analyze it to death! In no particular order:

1. it has tons of group play through BAM's,

2. has the trinity

3. has a rigid questing lvling system

4. has very cliche classes. 

5. It also has a very korean look to it. 

6. It has rabbit girls!

7. Extremely fast paced and semi unique battle system (only semi unique because other games have had it before...)

8. graphics are so l333tsauce

9. Rabbit girls!

10. Boobies!!

Maybe one or two of the above is the reason, i dont know.

Exactly, I've been doing my best to teach my daughters that it's not the right way of thinking. There's a girl in one of my daughters classes that's alergic to milk, therefore nobody in the class can have milk. That's how stupid it's becoming.

That is absolutely mind blowing. I hadn't heard of something like that actually happening, but I kind of figured it would end this way.

It really doesn't surprise me now that I think about it.

What if it's not the fairness thing as you describe, but the allergic milk girl's parents are so over-protective that they are the ones that did it to the whole class to protect their one child?  For some reason I see parents as being the villains and Teacher's as having common sense. 

Nope they said it was because it was unfair. It's not even a bad allergy. As in she might go into anaphylactic shock, she would just get hives or gas or something. Regardless, who are other parents to say what other children may or may not have based on solely their childs needs. It brings us back to my original point......nothing is equal in this world and letting children find out that its not at a late age in life, like adulthood, is going to cause some serious problems in the future. A society of wussies and the instant gratification crowd. We see these kinds of examples everyday in MMOs. Its quite sad.

In PVP I think that people are quick to rat out someone that is overpowered. With the right numbers, yes they should be heard.

The game overall though has to have a theme, if you stray from that, even if it's requested, you leave yourself open to losing those that came for that reason. Yes, I'm thinking about GW2 doing that within 6 mos. of opening.

Again, you missed the point. The point was that some people may not have been able to pre-order, heard about the game, lived too far form a convention, etc.

If you aren't living together, alone time to play games will happen no matter what.

If she has her own friends, let her go out with them, and play games.
