Losers in my book plain and simple...

I'm sorry but I can't stand them in my mmo period. Finding goldseller spam in my characters mailbox, splattered  messages to buy their cr@p in chat screens, personal group invites or whispers from these cretin are not a welcome sight as far as I'm concerned. If they could be simply ignored one time it would be just a minor annoyance but you block one & here comes another and so on. Like 99% of the advertisements on tv or websites I will never care about let alone support the gold spammer can be assured I don't want him in my game.

Just knowing someone will fall for their sales pitch promising the easy way to success is sad especially since most buyers will find they were scammed by losing their accounts to "hackers". Your gold purchase encourages sellers to get more gold and the easiest way to do that is to steal it from players so let the buyers beware it's not only their account being placed in jeopardy but your friends & guild mates as well.

I never understood it since we pay monthly subscription  fees to adventure & level up why pay someone else to do it for you. Pure laziness & definitely not something I believe should be allowed to thrive in any shape or form. Removing the sellers reduces the temptation to run for the shiny loot so yes I voted LOSERS!

Sad but true. This happened to me and a lot of others earlier this morning. I just laughed though and mentioned it in Zone chat to give players a heads up about the bug. Everyone who already found this out before I did simply said just add the goldspammer to Ignore which works fine without a disconnect. I have my Dominion & Exile toons setup on separate servers and will continue to get them all on Nexus during the head start. I'm sure those pesky spammers will be in the cross hairs soon enough so just keep tossing them on ignore until things get sorted out.
I set up the Google Authenticator on my Android phone earlier today just to add an extra layer of account security. Of course the promised WS bonuses for using it sound nice too. Plus I doubt WS will be releasing the physical versions anytime soon if at all so for now this is a pretty good idea.
Looks pretty good. I've played the Lego console titles here & there but never bothered with the failed Lego Online. I'll definitely check out the open beta if I have some free time but I really haven't been following this game so I'm not even sure if it will be f2p or subscription. I need to do some research =)
Nice story. I'm happy she won. Best of luck to her & her family.
More classes are always nice but with so many options to build a character at present there's enough for now. No clue if any of you thought of this as well but what I noticed during character creation was there's definitely room enough to expand two new classes through future ESO expansion packs if they decide to. You know an Imperial race dlc will be added for a price down the line as well if you don't own the IE so expect this game to grow if you choose to support it. We'll probably see something new in the fall or possibly around the time the ESO console version is officially out so they can get the most out of the promotion.
I was looking on and noticed EU will get a WS steelcase edition which is pretty cool (Chua & Granok title snapshot) but perhaps you can purchase it on the US Amazon site and buy a digital code. I've had shows like Mongrels & Mr. Hell shipped from Britain to the US so I don't think you should have an issue simply getting a code from here. Just remember the currency conversion & possible cc fees from your region. Good luck.
Chua are vertically challenged which probably added to their sadistic side but the Engineer & Spellslinger I was using in beta really grow on you. During the tutorial when I was running here and there I needed to readjust the camera until I settled in with my psychotic pals point of view. I think all of us noticed this early on when we were collecting books and the last one was way up on the top shelf lol ..hold it the item is where .. look up! =)
Coming from someone who last year dropped money on Neverwinter & Marvel Heroes founders packs I say good for you. Money matters aside if I was still a big PvP fan I might jump on AA myself but I'm not. Any title that you enjoy f2p, b2p or sub based isn't a waste to buy into if the bonuses seem a worthwhile investment to you. A lot of us like collector's editions myself included & I hope you have a great time in AA.
Definitely contact your cc company & tell them you bought the game, got double charged & tried in good faith to get this resolved with zero result. Keep those emails handy as proof of your effort. There's no reason you shouldn't be playing ESO right now if Zenimax's billing team didn't drop the ball. Not everyone is crying for a refund just to screw them out of a game they just released this has to do with charging you game time & not giving you what you're entitled to. Anyway once you cut through all this red tape I'm sure you'll be shopping around for a new mmo & since there's plenty posted right here on mmorpg I know you'll be having some good times soon enough. Good Luck.
If this was a medieval fantasy title I would like to see a warrior wield an actual shield if one handers were an option but WS is a sci-fi adventure and everyone uses shield generators so why not swing away with a huge 2H sword. I suppose they could've added 2H axes, maces, dual wielding etc as well for more variety but they chose to keep it straight forward & I don't have a problem with that.

If you have the money and really love the uber edition go for it. I like collector's editions myself but for this Bioware title I'm going for the $10 bump to a Deluxe Edition. I'll also go for the  preorder to get the extra weapons which works for me.

What a Waste

First up if a new title doesn't have a great opening cinema or some sort of cgi content I'd be surprised. Think of all the new players watching those cool intros & saying I gotta play this. Wow's opening trailer will never be forgotten by me when I saw the Dwarf hunter & pet grizzly I was like damn I'm getting this lol. Then the in game cgi's were added icing to the cake & I was really loving it. Putting some sort of high production value toward your product is pretty much expected at this point.

As for gameplay getting a new character going can be slow for some but immersing us in the lore is important too. I want to know why I'm here, who I owe allegiance to, who the enemies are and learn the ropes before I leave for the planet. You should take a good look around the ship & try all the paths to see which you like better just like deciding which class you're willing to spend countless hours building up. I also suggest after you've played your first Dominion/Exile toon in their starter zone the next ones you take to the alternate landing site to spice it up ever so slightly. I'm pretty happy with the way things are going at the moment. I've tested all the classes, paths & non human races available so it's a safe bet for me to be pretty certain who I will be running around Nexus with after open beta ends.

Sadly if you couldn't find WS fun though then tuck tail and run to whatever game brings you the things you find more desirable. I'm just glad you found this out now before you bought the game & were miserable for doing so.
Two things you will never avoid are death and taxes. I always get taxed on my subscriptions aside from almost everything else. NY state is currently pushing for a $0.10 bag tax (paper and plastic) in the hopes we become more environmentally conscious which as important as it is translates into more $tate profit at the end of the year.

As for your sacrifice for serving our country Thank You Very Much. My grandfather who served in WW2 always said he believed veterans should be tax exempt but that philosophy cost him his home when he refused to pay the $tate their due. Best wishes to you and all who serve & will serve.
More time in the oven is good and bad news.

Alot of people will get upset & maybe jump on something else which is never good for a company trying to score preorders/sales yet making sure next gen console players have a decent title to sub to in the long run is definitely a plus. Especially since console players tend to shy away from monthly fees beyond Xbox Live & now PS Plus.

The down side too is if the ESO console version releases during holiday 2014 we may not see the next single player incarnation discussed/released until much further down the road than anticipated. Bummer.
I don't like spam in general chat but if I'm questing I don't pay attention to it anyway so sales pitch away. I've seen it before in other games and a few months ago in WS beta where someone was bitching how ESO was better. So tit for tat I suppose.

The numbers mentioned are pure fantasy though. I'm sure WS will get at least a million subs at start then trickle down to half that for the rest of it's run. People will be hoping it goes f2p which it might since other big name mmo's went that route. Either way expect to see more of this during their open beta run.
I'm sorry to say but a lot of people I know just won't buy into the whole f2p formula. They see it as a title with missing parts they just won't pay to fill in to get the full package.

I don't mind so much if the game is playable and fun. Look at it as a very long demo providing some thrills before the pay wall pops. Some f2p never expect your wallet to open unless you want to add a perk and others will hit you over the head at every turn. Those are best uninstalled asap.

Titles that I've played but just couldn't get others to download & tryout :)

Wizard 101/Pirate 101 are great "kids" titles but after a couple of hours will require a sub or microtransactions to keep the adventure flowing. Still recommended though for magic & pirate fans.

Neverwinter was enjoyable. I bought into the D&D feel and liked the adventure. I also supported the game through founders packs but told them besides extra space/mount you're good to go. In the end the NW instanced zones worked ok for me but my friends wanted the open world not little chunks between loading screens. A lot of games are like that now but I agree riding from one corner of the world to the next seamlessly is fun.

Marvel Heroes was good. I used to play a lot of D2 and Marvel Alliance so I bought into the game. I still don't know why this didn't appeal to them but I'm guessin they had their reasons..what do you mean Wolverine isn't a starting character unless I buy him??

Star Wars the Old Republic..big name you'd think that since it's f2p but no. I recently reinstalled this to see the difference between sub and free. Well naturally a lot is locked but it's still fun to break out a saber or blaster to run some quests.

EQ2, AoC, DCUO, Dragon Prophet...etc.

Lots of others can be tossed out there too but the market is currently flooded with f2p games to try and buy in one form or another. Chances are good however you will find one you like amongst the others you loathe. No f2p title will ever give you the full package a subscription or b2p title will period so once you understand that you can decide to $upport it further or just walk away.
PayPal is a good service that has no choice but to stop buyers from exploiting the claims they didn't get the item paid for. ESO is available to play once you buy the title & patch it up. If you think you got ripped off get in touch with Zenimax & complain to them.

I sometimes use eBay or Half I might run into a seller who promises me an item that never ships or he/she keeps promising it's in the mail but can't provide me with any tracking info. then I have no choice but to get the refund process rolling from Paypal. If however you bought it, received the item, played it and then just turn around and say well that sucked I want a refund there's not a whole lot you can expect from Paypal as far as ruling in your favor.

A friend of mine who used to play UO has a rule of thumb when it comes to new mmo's and that is wait six months before buying simply to avoid the headaches of titles that need more time to fix & balance the world. I rarely follow his advice but it does make sense especially if there are so many unsatisfied players popping up in the current marketplace. Perhaps Zenimax could continue boost its image by offerring up more free game time to players who find ESO too troublesome to play in its current state. Either way if the game bothers you it's best to use up any time you have left and move on. Good luck.
I played this a lot on PS3 and briefly on the PC due to tech issues. Anyway it was fun & as usual most people seemed to buy a roller from the cashshop. This new format should get Trion some new sales come June 4th. I received an email outlining some new upcoming changes based on if you already own Defiance or will be a new recruit:
Character slots 4 vs 2
Loadouts 5 vs 2
Ark Keycode Maximum 75 vs 50
Inventory Slots 70 vs 35
*Special Bonus for already owning DEFI
1,000 Arkforge to refine & upgrade weapons
30 day Paradise Patron Pass

Alright so you will already notice the microtransactions ticking in based on just the above info. If you really want to play find it for cheap now and you'll probably save a few bucks if you'll want a few veteran perks. Anyway I wish Trion well with f2p since this is probably the only way to keep the rollers moving in Paradise.
I already preordered last month and it seems the Beta team who I asked to let me join up last year finally offerred me a key. If you'd like to give the game a spin:

US Server Beta Key
Europe Server Beta Key

I too won't be in game again until the headstart since I want my progress to count at this point. I will definitely have an army of Chua standing by =)
