So gamble or not it seems 8+ months of AA is a better deal then 1 month in TESO and 1 week to 1 month in Wildstar  for the same $150

lol...so gamble or not....is your defense.

What I have seen posted about this game makes me run the other way. Not even the best fans can make me want to try it.

LOL ...pretty sure 99.99% of folks  in general and fans in particular have no interest in the fact that you are  playing or not

Paying for the game should be the decision you take after you decide that you like the game, and to influence players to pay for the game for full basic functionality during a beta test is an unclassy, cheap move.

I am glad you called them out on their questionable business practices but companies will do anything these days to make a buck when there are tons and tons of suckers that will just give them 150- for essentially nothing. I agree, you should only spend 150- after you have played the game and decided you like the game enough to spend 150-. Spending 150- before is essentially gambling that the game will be fun for you at release. How can you know that before trying it?  I made the same mistake for the Landmark game but I got my money back so no loss. I admit I was a fool to spend that 100- but there are so many people that will not let their egos say such a thing. This lesson is NOT to buy anything until after you have tried it in a released form.

On the other hand ...lots of folks already have played 3 months with  one or two more months in Alpha and 3 months in hand c/w $75.00 worth of cash shop goodies .Might have been a gamble at first but now it looks like a pretty good deal to anyone that actually enjoys playing the game more then posting on the forums .

So gamble or not it seems 8+ months of AA is a better deal then 1 month in TESO and 1 week to 1 month in Wildstar  for the same $150

So tired of hearing about the fucking labor point system.

"What do you mean i can't craft new product every 20 seconds,non-stop 24/7..like an entire Nike shoe factory assembly-line manned by coked-up slave-laboring vampire children!!! I can in other mmos. I thought this game would be different!!"

Boo fucking hoo....

It's coming from people who want to play free so who cares if they're unhappy that they don't get everything a subscriber gets. They're the type of people this genre needs to get rid of moving forward anyway.

Let's just hope they take a gold seller under each arm when they leave

See that's what bothers me, and would even more so if I were subscribing. The LP system restricts how much of something you can do. I'm not saying it's the worst thing ever, it just rubs me the wrong way.

I get wanting to limit the economy, so why not just limit how many items you can sell on the AH every day/week/month? There has to be a better way than telling people, especially those who pay money, that they can only do certain amounts of something.

If I wanted to mine, day and night, as boring as that would be, I don't see the issue.

Think how the poor bot farmers will feel ......they have to mine 24/7

AAA uncheck is fair enough, although it kind of depends on what you expect from a AAA. If its graphics then Darkfall is pretty fucking sweet looking.

That said, I am nearly positive AA took features from Darkfall actually. Like the treasure hunting...and boat combat...oh my god is just like it.

indies typically put in MORE features then AAA games do...as an FYI but to be fair I dont know the full 'sub-feature' list of AA

Well I guess this will be a good-bye post then? No need to waste time here when you have found "Nirvana" in Darkfall ...it's been a slice

No need to pay for founder pack, just pay the monthly fee when game release (patron status).

Well it is the same to me. Subbing to a F2P game to get special treatment makes it a P2W type of scenario. This is my opinion and many other people as well. If LP was standardized across the different types of accounts, that would be different. LP is one the basic parts of the game as you use LP to open items, ID items, craft, etc.

Sounds to me like AA reflects real life ,,,, I'm going to go with the P2P option , the same one I have to use in real life

F2P in the real world came to an end in the post hippy era ....When someone came up with the equation

NO CASH = no gas + no grass and no ass

You are severely underestimating the amount of people that like raid content. Sure, only the top 5% or fewer typically do current top end content, but in games like EQ and WoW (even before raid finder) a significant part of the population raided casually.

Raiding isn't needed for a successful game, but its also not something only a very small portion of a population participates in.

Actually it was !% in Vanilla WOW .....end game raiding usually means end of the game for most folks

Average PvE? Which AAA games is it actually better than PvE wise?

Of course its not trying to be a good PvE game. Which is why it will never be huge in the west. Which is inconsequential, because it doesn't have to be. Its a niche game that will make a lot of people in its niche happy.

Daoc Shadowbane COH Warhammer AOC TSW Terra Wildstar  and Rift just to name a few

There is no way to do even the quests that require you to use LP (crafting introduction, trade pack introduction and level 20 armor quests) because you don't have enough LP by the time you need it.

You don't do the Level 20 armor quests anymore ,,,,,,move along sad little mouse

Wow guilds talking about this game? Haha very funny... not. This game is nothing than facebook/perfect world garbage, and you are really annoying posting this stupid shit without any creativity. Ppl who pay you money for advertising this piece of crap should hire somebody with brains man.

And you felt the need  to post this here because ?

You are not getting much for your $15.00. You still need to buy storage space and basic stuff from the cash shop.

If they included a little Cash Shop Currency as a stipend with your monthly subscription this might have made it a little more palatable.

Guess I won't be playing this one either.

Well on the bright-side ...you didn't have to pay the usual $50-$75 to buy the game and having 100 storage spots per character is a pretty good start for me ,,it's not like I can't build storage space in my house

The quest are so fast and so easy I don't know why anyone makes a big deal out of it. I have a lvl 25 and a 15 with nothing but quest and they don't bug me one bit. I can knock the quest out so fast it never felt like I was grinding. Wildstar/ESO felt like a huge grind compared to AA.

The issue isn't with how fast you can do chores. It's that there are chores to do.

The majority of people who were looking at AA (people tired of quest grinding and other themepark bullshit) don't WANT to do quest grinding. And this game FORCES you to do it as your primary PvE content, which is the opposite of sandbox design.

Forces you? You can't just mob grind?

The game discourages it, and you'd be doing it alone because everyone else will just be quest grinding. It's not nearly as fast, profitable, or encouraged by game design as quest grinding.

KaBoom ...sorry bud you're away off on this , not sure if you just don't know anything about the game or you are deliberately trying to spread misinformation with an agenda but anything you do solo in this game is much better with a group

its something like.... if you pay you can play the game for less time before leaving. And if you play for free, the grind will consume your soul and make you leave too.... mmorpgs really need a serious leveling overhaul.

Where do you come up with this shit ? Are you talking about a 10% increase in experience for having a $15.00 a month subscription fee which gives you patron status  ?

There are also some dailies, mostly in the big city for your side, that will open up at lvl 30. And there are a number of somewhat hidden, one-off quests scattered around.

It is also important to realize that the zone levels past 30 take you though both continents. While the first 30+ zone has one on each side, Cinderstone for the west and Ynystere for the east after that both sides are lead to Halcyona in the west and though the other high level western zones until about lvl 40 and then it goes back over to Rookborne in the east and though the 40s with Hasla and Karkasse capping things off at around 50. There are world gates from Yny to Halcyona and from Sanddeep to Rookborne to help with the transition.

Cinderstone Moor - Ynystere (30-33)

Halcyona (33-36)

Hellswamp (35-38)

Sanddeep (38-41)

Rookborne Basin (40-44)

Windscout Savannah (43-45)

Perinoor Ruins (46-48)

Hasla (48-49)

Karkasse Ridgelands (49-50)

So you should have lots of quests all the way though 50. You can also level up by way of crafting and farming and pvp.

+1 thanks for taking the time to lay that out

That was in the beta where I played somewhere between 4 and 8 hours each day. That was Saturday where a guild mate needed a lot of mats to level her crafting so I planted and harvested 3 large farm fileds of materials for her in addition to my normal farming and also mined stone to finish my farmhouse. In the Alpha it is damn near impossible to run out of points like the OP suggests he did because the regen rate is twice that of the beta. Only way I could imagine running out of LP on the Alpha is to do it on purpose by mining and processing ore/stone non stop for several hours, even the stupidest player could not do it making an effort

Pre 1.2 Alpha player here.  Quit at the release of patch 1.2 due to various issues.

In alpha, we had 10 LP per 5 minute regen.  I played roughly 5 hours max per weeknight.  At least 1/3 of that time spent questing, so no LP spent (money pouches were banked, never opened).  Part of the remaining time was split between 2 large farms, usually a mix of turkeys and seed bundles.  Once every couple of days I would fish with the saved up worms.

The rest of the time was spent randomly rowing my boat wherever, because I was out of LP.

So, yes, as much as you and others may refuse to believe it, labor points CAN be used up quite easily.  Just because it does not affect you does not mean everyone else is the same.  Please stop thinking in such a self-centered manner.

That's really weird .... I play with better half most of the time and I'm sure we don't average more than 4 hrs per day , we have 5 farms and one cottage under the family . I actually feel pressure at times to spend LP  because I'll look down  and notice we have 10k sitting there , our last discussion was me suggesting she made some tax certificates and her telling me she 200 on each character enough for about 25 weeks ....warehouse is full of lumber metal stone and at least 1000 of anything I can farm Just finding it hard to believe anyone could find LP as any sort of issue on a regular basis

This game, FREE TO PLAY, should mean just that - not you can be equal to others as long as you throw money down a rat hole.

So it is great you paid the piper but don't say it is no big deal because it is.

It's is a big deal indeed ....it looks like the average ALPHA player ended up paying $7.50 a month to play a game 24/7 and you didn't get to do the same for free ....Goes to show you the benefit of throwing money down a rat hole vs belly aching on a forum

I also know that there are some quests above level 30.

I like to do a little of everything when I play...maybe craft some, gather, pvp, just kill things and even quests, yes I do like them.

So my question is this, after level 30 about how many quests are there compared to the lower levels?

So lets say below level 30 has 10 quests tied to it (just a guess) then about how many quests would you say each level has from 30 upwords.  I only ask as I am trying to decide if I would be happy with the game after level 30.

Again, not discussing LP, way to many threads about that already.

Thanks for the help.

You'll have more than enough quests to hit 50 without a sweat ....you just have to be more aware of who's around you when you quest in the 30+ zones
