Closed PvP or "instanced PvP" has more than one bad effect:-
-If you think about the reason MMO existed is for People to Compete against each other, either by direct contact or through contact with the game world and gaining what we know of as "Achievements" *Now we have the first way Instanced so we will not have to make effort to either find people to Protect us or team with us as we quest to make sure we are not ganked and neither will we feel needed by someone in the very same sense, so the friendship factor through questing in the world is killed for good, now moving on to the next:
*the Second way used to be one of the two means to creat amazing history and friendships as you battle your way through raids and instances and get the feeling of fight to survive before of thinking of Loot, when in fact i beileve Loot is important to have a reward for what you do, i do also beileve that the means to obtain it has become just a tread mill and not a path created for players to form relationships as they go through it, and the last screw has been dug in the PVE coffin when some mmos started the Looking for raid/dungeon finder feature which now ditched the social aspect of the game 100%
I do not see people keeping interest in game anymore after they gain the gear the have seeked/achievements |

World PvP was the reason I loved MMO not because of the PvP factor itself but for the following Points:-
* It encourges grouping up *It leads to people forming groups *It can cause you to creat amazing friendships and not just making enemies *The Surprise factor of being jumped by anyone as you quest is a feeling that can not be bought with money *It can leave amazing memories for you to remember with your friend as you survive through nearly impossible pvp encounters while originally both of you were "just Questing" *It can always disrupt your questing plans, which is not always a bad thing as the main reason now days people get bored of MMOs is because it is just dull experiance or a one time experiance and then everything is expected eventually leading them to move on to the next MMO "seeking the thing that kept them enterained in the past"
I do not Normally Post but i just thought to share my view on this one

Honestly ! Who would actually pay 15 a month for this???
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/27/11 5:03:51 AM
Monthly Sub does not garantee updates...at least playable ones, so theory of PTP better than FTP is changing..even if it was the case, it is certainly not anymore..in fact FTP games have different model that gets money out of you more than PTP model, take for example Joymax latest game release "Digimon Online" their cash shop certainly brings in money enough for them to keep the game content coming
That was just my point anyway for anyone who thinks PTP is "waaaay" better than FTP because of updates. |

I feel that Cata will be a major let down for me and others
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 12/28/10 11:39:12 PM
I hate to complicate things further more as I am not an elite wow player, however as a semi-hardcore player i can say that cata brought me back alot of fun that I am still going through up until this very second, the fact that you have to make a choice with class specs made it better for me personally, i hate to be the "joker Card" i would rather have a defined role for myself, not to say that the game is perfect, but it is far more fun to play now than anytime before for me.
My only 2 cents anyway |

How much attention do you get playing a female?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 11/10/10 3:24:06 AM
I think it depends on the concept really, after all a game is a tool that is shared in 2 parts, one which is the fantasy and two is the person who is represnting the fantasy, now this case can be very tricky sometimes as some people would seek games as a "dating hub" while others would rather to know at least how to they should address the person they are playing with should they become good friends who play regularly, after all i beileve it is all down to the person who is seeking it and their inttention, in most cases it will be very obvious, as you would not get to know the real person you are playing with unless you have known them for a while, on the other hand those who seek to find out the identity of the person as soon as they have met...u go figure :)
Just my 2 cents anyway on the topic |

Something is not right about the hype meter of this game, least to say it is not normal for it to hit with such a massive number in a matter of a night or two, something smells fishyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy |

General Discussion « TERA 11/05/10 1:48:19 PM
Originally posted by stayontarget My bad then, however i am sure i have heard in an interview something about technical similarities even though i thought it is Engine, it seems it is not the case here as i tried to address to our fellow gamers the game is not really the same as aion or a wow clone despite the fact that it had some similarities |
