For example I except have seen 2 official game plays. One extremely bad and one average also I watched a lot of streams YES stream hidden from Zenimax and NDA witch where horrible.

Price is not a problem only a small one Eu people must pay for 25 $ more ....

Problem is that Zenimax stated they will be a B2P  and P2P now we clearly see that they are ready to break alliance limits for money and it's a Red Alert that game is going to be greedy as any other F2p. Also Pre order contains items that tel us that there will be a rediculuous OP cash shop in game.

Do you not realize they broke the 3 faction rule because EVERYONE wanted it? everyone i know hated the 3 faction 3 race lock, they changed it because WE wanted it NOT THEM, THEY added imperials for that, WE wanted race crossover.

NDA so i wont answer that, but its amazing.

I live in england and we have a like 25% tax on things, so that's expected, paying more? go robin hood and murder your government.

As for cash shop, remember Neverwinter? £35 for 1 mount, yes 35 pounds... i dont think a few cosmetics in ESO will be that expensive.

It's great they've added the Imperial race and allowed cross faction race choice.

It's absolutely shit that having those standard and pretty much necessary game features is tied to certain conditions.

The imperial race and open race choice should be included with every subscription. Period. No excuses.

Those options will be in the cash shop after launch.. so wtf are people paying a subscription for if all the content and features aren't included?

I said the same to myself after paying £130 for guild wars 2 then finding out they give you 1 tiny bank tab and charge you £8.50 for each extra one or bag slot upgrade you buy...

But the sub is really to pay the staff, upgrade and develop the game, maintain high standard servers, which it is as one server for the entire world, which is amazing and what every game should use.

Without a sub F2P cash shops become extremely greedy, time limited, and pay to win, look at the stuff guild war 2 has been adding lately.

And its a good reward for fans and supporters of the game, all right now have the option to get this preorder bonus even if you have no money in your bank, and if it does and when it does come to item shop in ESO it will prob be £5, which if you buy the game after release will prob be half price or F2P anyway and then you have payed half of what i payed int he first place.

Firstly i think people are going way over the top with their rage about this CE/Proder pack.

In the world of elders scrolls anyone who is a fan will realize that no race should be faction locked, that's not how any of the single player games play, if i want to play a Nord and kill Nords i can... Skyrim.

People who are raging over the play any race on any faction don't seem to realize that this is very good, my ONLY issue with the game was i wanted to play Breton and my friend Nord, and that meant we could not play together unless i was forced or he was forced to play something we did not want, is that a good game? no it is not so thank you Zenimax for allowing me and my friends to all play together no matter what race we each decide to pick.

For all those worrying and raging that it’s a preorder, you do realize you can preorder the game on amazon/ right now for FREE get the preorder code, add it to your account unlock all this content and then cancel your preorder so then you will always have the unlocks? So don’t claim poverty or time limited because ALL have the chance to do this right now regardless of when you decide to buy the game.

IMO this was always the plan, it was the only race not in the game due to the 3/3/3 faction race and i think they had this plan all along but kept it a secret a) for CE and b) to build gratitude and hype for people wanting to play an imperial and as any faction as a neutral race.

- - -

I myself will be playing an imperial as i think they look amazing and this also means people who lets say want to play certain factions can always play a human race no matter what faction they want to pick.

I don't get how people claim to love and support the elder scrolls series and them blatantly spit in the face of the devs who brought us this amazing game, if you don't like it don’t but it, I’m not forcing you to buy it, they are not forcing you to buy it. do NOT buy this game and then complain about issues and slag them off, its like someone buying mass effect and then saying then skip all quests and hate story, its just silly.

I have preorder physical CE and can't wait for this game to come out, i hope it does very well and the community grows strong.

Well, I thought the stuttering was pretty obvious in the video, but in game I was surprised at how many people it ran smoothly with. 100+ and I was still getting very high frames at high graphics levels on a 6/10 PC.

That video has very little, if any, current real time gameplay footage anywhere and what little it has, has been post-processed like crazy. And yes I know it runs very smoothly with large numbers at the moment.

Still doesn't stop some form saying that the reason ESO doesn't have chat bubbles is because it's a laggy Hero Engine POS

What? the enite video is real time gameplay? are you watching some other video? and this content was not in the 1 year old 9 min dev video... as for calling me a kid, fine go ahead, but this kid knows that your 50 mb net connection aint goign to make a video not lagg if the game is lagging in the video.

My last point, you say you have never seen lagg in the video? did you not see their latest pvp video? if you can't see the lagg then you need to go to specsavers and have been playing too much ps3 for 7 years.

Their latest video...

1. I didn't see a lot of live action there... I saw a lot of rendered cut-scenes.

2. Want to point us to the laggy bits? As in time stamps for what you're blabbing about. Should be easy fr you to do since it's so obvious

EDIT: and for anyone else curious about the alleged laggy video, this is "their latest PVP video" they're trolling about:

Let's make it a game like "Find Waldo" ... maybe you can spot the lag? ...with or without "specsavers," your choice.

1 min 20 seconds, if you can not see the lag and stuttering there... like they has got really bad animation updates.

Well a lot of people who can type english can't speak it well, and many would not understand them, i can't talk late at night or other times etc so voice chat is not going to take place openly for a looong time if ever. not to mention people using it to troll people and scream, and play music etc, ps2 shows us this.

Another game that says FU to roleplayers. Oh well

I personally don't believe chat bubbles affect the way you role play that bad. They are neat but not needed and should not stop someone from playing.  .00001% of the players won't be missed...

other than this small minded forum base, 99,9% of logical mmos gamers WANT chat bubbles, i asked 27 friends and not one of them said they would not want chat bubbles, so i take that over anything else.

I must fall in that .1% because I use TS or Vent when doing anything in any game today. Chat is about useless unless on those rare occasions I'm looking for a pug group, trying to buy something not on an auction or sending a /w-/t. Haven't really even seen too much rping going on in today's games, its more like hey do you want to cyber or some other garbage spamming away in chat. I think the best option they made was to turn off chat.

Simple example, i see a guy and say " hi want to quest? " he doe snot see this because he is not following the spam of rage in the chat box, so he runs past me. if i had chat bubbles, he would have seen this above my head and could respond.

Something so simple is so important even for none roleplayers and pvpers, you keep saying you use voice chat, but you do not do this with most people, and its ok if you want to be a hermit in a guild and speak never to anyone else but i do.

People get hung up on the smallest little details. Chat bubbles are an imperfect solution to communication in MMOs that some people, apparently, think is the coolest thing since slice bread.

The future is in voice communications - something similar to what SOE is already doing in their MMOs with multiple in-game VOIP channels, including "proximity" channels. But yes, it will require that you RP with your mouth and not your fingers... hope you guys can handle that :)

If you want to see what this will look like, look no further than The Division:

While i think built in voice communication is a must in modern mmo, it has its donwsides too. Its generally easier to communicate with text then verbally in foreign language, in RP you have more time to think what to say in character, badass warriors with 12 yo virgin voices sound weird (not to mention female elves with old drunkard voices ;-)) to name a few. Besides, i notticed playing LOTRO that most people turn off voice communication so without chat bubbles i would be left with impractical chat box only.

I dont believe claims that most people turn chat bubless off. Dont remember being ignored in games with them like i am in SWTOR.

Now people are demanding it to have features just like WoW.

ZOS cannot win. No matter what they do, someone will whine.

Typical crowd.

Even UO had chat bubbles so your comment is not only pointless but also a fail.

As someone mentioned Before, they had chatbubbles in online games over a decade ago and if they having problems to implement them in this game... well, then I will start to worry about the game Engine they're using.

And you're assuming that the reason they aren't implementing it is because they're having problems with it, exactly why?

Maybe they just don't want that comic book look... just saying.

Someone in this thread mentioned they were using hero engine. While devs claim they are using custom one now, its hard not ot see similiarity with SWTOR as ESO is one of the very few modern games that doesnt support the very same feature. Just saying.

1. SWTOR was full-on early version Hero Engine. This game used a better version of the Hero engine early on in   development - now they use their own engine. You're just spreading one year old misinformation that was addressed a long. long time ago...good try though.

2. Laggy PVP like Ilium's? Yeah? Where?  Not any ESO PvP I've ever seen. The opposite is the case.

Your ridiculous thread about a teensy weensy "issue" is now devolving into the realm of fantasy rumors. I didn't think it was possible to go lower, but here we are.

Oh and btw, I also posted another link that you ignored, the one to the SOEmote voice morphing. That takes care of any reluctance you might have about using voice chat. You can be a 50 yr. old male truck driver and choose a little girl voice.. if that;s what turns your roleplaying crank.

Please answer honestly, have you ever played an MMO or SWTOR?

Ok so lets get to it, illum was capped to limit players due to lagg months after release, even then 50 vs 50 people causes so much lagg your fps was sub 10, and when the objectives were taken and the bombers came in you had to stand still for a min for them to stop because you had 1 fps while npcs were bombing, even with the top of the line pc's

Ok so now that's cleared up and we have established you haver never played swtor, lets talk about how unstable swtor is in general, 16 man raids, 8v8 pvp, even this brings the engine to its knees.

Fun example for you, i did an fps test on coruscant, stood looking at ONE mob, 95 fps good eh? attacked the mob and got my lightsaber out and started to do 1 on 1 melee combat, 60-65 fps. now explain why exactly 1 on 1 fight with a few lights and animation uses 30-40 fps? because as tests have shows their game engine is a joke.

Back to your first point, every MMO since sliced bread has done cover ups, told lies, made false statements and released unfinished games and removed content and features, so dont think for one minuet that they are giving you the RIGHT information.

My last point, you say you have never seen lagg in the video? did you not see their latest pvp video? if you can't see the lagg then you need to go to specsavers and have been playing too much ps3 for 7 years.

Two games that chose not to implement chat bubbles. That must mean that they are using identical engines. No logical fails there.

SWTOR did NOT choose to not add them, they CAN'T add them because they are BROKEN and give you 2 FPS.

ESO pvp video we can all see clearly lagging horribly int he pvp fights, the only game ive played with lagg that bad looking was SWTOR on ILLUM.

2 games, no chat bubbles, bad pvp fps... see where im going?

I remember when SWTOR came out and that obnoxious lead directer guy said

6 months later he was like "oh we realize many people want and need a LFG finder for dungeons etc so we will implement one soon"

I didn`t  intend to comment but this....

You need bubbles to get ppl`s attention when they are in wrong chat or simply doesn`t know which chat to look at.

You use bubbles to talk to people close to you without annoying everyone else.

You use bubbles for screenshots.

Then of course you`ve got role playing too.

Because this isnt confusing at all and enhances immersion for roleplaying

seriously this is your defence?

firstly games are now in 3D so this doe snot happen, secodnly its an asian f2p games so theres millions of people selling and trading in town, thirdly i play WOW and at primetime in a city of hundreds of people i only see a few bubbles now and then lol, you clearly have never played a modern mmo with 3d gfx if this is your fear.

And? 99% of the people you meet will not be in your guild and on teamspeak, and as a social and roleplayer chat bubbles are needed, the game feels lifeless without them, its more fun and social with them, so the fact a 2014 mmo doe snot have a basic feature mmos 15 years ago has is bad.

Many guilds use multi-guild alliance TS/Vent servers ( at least those I've had experience with).

Can you please name all those western MMO's of the past that used them? SWG is the only old MMO I played that had them, and it certainly isn't the only old MMO I've played. It's not exactly something that's widely used in my experience.

nearly every mmo has chat bubbles, some are

WoW, Rift, Lotro, mortal online, neverwinter, final fantasy 14, tabula rasa, age of conan, guild wars, star trek online, the secret world.

Also the immersion it adds when an NPC is talking, for example when doing a quest and you are killing a boss, noc or escorting or listening to an NPC this will play in their chat bubble so you can see and feel what they are saying, its nowhere near the same if an npc is talking in chat box only.

Chat bubbles are stupid. Very prone to misuse. No chat bubbles does not wreck rpg immersion, and in pvp they are exploited beyond belief. They increase spam, increase lag, in pvp, you have text spam, making it hard to see anything, no thank you. Any decent healer can heal without chat bubbles. Next excuse......

Are you simple? now you are making stuff up and giving false evidence.

In pvp people do not spam chat, the odd person may ask for a heal, you think people have time to type sentences in a pvp fight? no its small simple important need to know info.

it does not cause lagg in WoW or any other game ive played because they have a stable engine.

make it hard to see? are you taking the piss? they last a few seconds and unless you have 50 people in a 5x5 meter square spamming which THEY DON'T no you wont get spam.

So in a 100 man pvp fight tell me how a healer sees who needs a healer? you are again trolling you sad act.

You clearly have only played one MMO and thats call of duty, go back to it and think before you speak next time, if you for one momeny think that chat bubbles do not impact RP then you are on a class A, 10 people in a room talking how do you see what comes from who? you are sat looking ONLY at a chat box and not on the immersion of the game, sigh... i give up, your next bull remark please.

In pvp is someone says HEAL ME or FOLLOW ME or whatever tactical need, guess what? no one will see it, who reads chat box in pvp for a start? if im healing and i see a chat bubble say someone needs a heal or help i can see it and do it, without chat bubbles it completely ruins a game, i dont care what anyone says, its IMPORTANT.

SWTOR could not add chat bubbles because their game engine was so piss poor that it made the game lagg to death even more than it already does.

Have you seen the ESO pvp video? their trailer is lagging, the game engine looks just as bad as SWTOR, which is why i think the reason they wont add them is because they know their crappy engine wont handle it, originally they were using the same engine as SWTOR and now say its a home built one, but it makes me wonder, is it really? or did they mod the hero engine? either way the fps int he game looks terrible.

I will refuse to buy the game till they add them, SWTOR left them out and it made the game a social flop, not being able to see what someone says is the most annoying thing ever, 10 people stood together and one speaks, you are constantly looking at game and chat just to match people to their text and its f annoying...

also it makes the game feel dead, seeing what people are saying when you walk around a town makes it feel like a world, not a mute world with a chat box of spam from a global channel.

I found an interesting article on Gamasutra- makes me wonder if CCP made the right decision with Dust 514.

'Nobody gains from console exclusivity,' says Sony's dev relations boss"

Sony Computer Entertainment America's Adam Boyes.

In a candid keynote address at IndieCade's professional conference today, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) VP of publisher and developer relations Adam Boyes acknowledged that though console exclusivity might drive console sales, it wasn't fundamentally productive to either console makers or developers.

"Right now exclusives are just a way for [console makers] to brag louder," said Boyes. "Nobody gains from exclusivity in perpetuity."

Boyes likened console manufacturers to car dealerships, wherein independent developers served as high-end car mechanics capable of fine-tuning the machine's performance and bringing "real innovation" to the platform. Nevertheless, he did not see long-term exclusivity as fitting in with that analogy.

"Developers now have the option to deliver on a huge number of platforms," said Boyes. "We want developers to be successful." And that, he said, leads almost inevitably to multiplatform publishing.

It is true that exclusives make sales of console, i would not have a console if every console game was out on PC prob, but i really do like the feel of a controller and console and collecting physical game snot just digital the way pc is going.

But one thing i prefer over consoles much more than pc is optimization, this is why i think console exclusives are mostly so freaking awesome, the amount of pc games ive bought in 2013 that have issues and bugs that make it unplayable at times is insane, console devs really do only have to focus on 1 set of hardware to squeeze all the power and make it stable at a consistent fps.

I would have loved dust to be on PC, but the fact they brought it onto the deadstation 3 and have no plans for next gen is absurd, i mean a next gen game to last 10 years on a 7 year old last gen console that people are moving away from? can i pleas get the doctors ER report for the head of CCP as he was clearly hit in the head with something very big and heavy... AGAIN.

Some exclusives that im super looking forward to are

Order 1886

The Division (now on pc prob after console launch due to demand)

drive club

final fantasy 15

second son

uncharted 4

Again i find using  controller a LOT more fun than mouse and keyboard and you can relax with it, it may at times not be as accurate in FPS games, but in any other game its imo superior and in a way in FPS games more realistic, the lag a controller causes in terms of response is more that if real life, you cant do an instant 180 or 360 irl and shoot with super accuracy at a sniper in a window, so i like the feeling of realism and VIBRATION Oooo.

lol only issue i have with blizzard is it takes them forever to do anything, i sh you not... it took them like 10 years to make diablo 3, their new MMO titan has been in the making for lik e5 years now they just announce they are restarting it? WHAT THE FK? they are remodeling the races on wow also after 3 years of work they now got the dwarf and orc done... amazing lol, i dont know how blizzard can have so much money and be so fu disgustingly slow as even the most simplest of things

Any game released in a console is wasting potential for a better game.

If people wanna play the best games not held back by consoles..just play pc games that are exclusive for pc ..not ports made from consoles.

I don't know... there has been an awful lot of really bad PC only games over the years lol.

There have also been a lot of amazing Console exclusives like last of us and beyond two souls, or halo and gears of war. ive played so many shit pc indy games, and indy games are flooding the market now with steam especially, i hate these cheap old school tacky games, not to mention most pc games run piss poor and have little optimization.

I really enjoy killzone, knack and black flag on my PS4, can't wait till order 1886 comes out, that game looks freaking awesome.
