I basically said on the forums there is another game similar to this called Gloria Victus, which there is no rule against and i received a perma ban

Another bunch of corrupt indie devs who bribed their way onto steam, this post it to make others aware of their nature.

I liked this game, gave me about 70 hours of entertainment, then I got bored. Not a bad game. But I think unless you're just insanely addicted to FPS games, there are much better "MMOs" out there. This game is hardly an MMO as it tries to claim.

the devs always said it was never an MMO, the people gave it the MMO title, the devs stated multiple times it's not an mmo.

The game is F2P and Buy to Play, Test an orc and if you like the game pay a one off fee and unlock every class and race, just like GW2, a one off payment to unlock all races and classes and then no sub, how can you even complain about this OP?
I like somewhat a bit of realism in medieval style games, fromt he armour to the weps and buildings, GW2 underwater was crap, and even a mage in heavy robes would drown in the water lol, so plate aint happening either, i like that they did not make a GW2 gimmik.

So they haven''t changed their minds on this yet? That's a drag. Chat bubbles with on/off switch seems like the best solution for everyone.

It's prob more down to their game engine can't handle chat bubbles, SWTOR openly said chat bubbles break the games FPS and give super bad performance, how games engines 15 years ago could cope with this and not now is silly, but SWTOR after 3 years have not managed to fix this, and as ESO was originally going to be on the SWTOR hero engine and the super poor performance it gave they not say they are using their own engine, though it makes me wonder... if it's just modded, funny how their engine and the hero engine both have big issues with chat bubbles.

Not having chat bubbles is just stupid, and it does make it harder to accomplish many things.  Anyone that has been playing mmo's for longer than 5 yrs knows this.

I could not DISAGREE more.

Well that's a mighty big caps lock disagree there with no statement to back it up with common sense or reason.

Connect the names with who is on screen? are you serious or trolling me... lts say 8 people are stood talking in town, you ar enot goign to connect the names to the player you will just be reading chat end of, dont be silly... with chat bubbles you know who is speaking by looking at the player and its easier as you see the game at the same time not jsut a chat box...

I really think most people here have never player anything other than COD

Do you honestly feel the need to connect names and characters to everyone talking in a town?

Besides, from playing games without chat boxes, I know that it's not necessary, not even if you want to follow the convo of random people. If those random people want to be heard by other randoms, they'll talk in /say and you'll be able to do exactly as I said: connect names to characters.

For all its failings, I never had an issue in SW:TOR when a bunch of people were looking for more group members at the start of a group area and asking passers-by to join them through /say. Never, ever.

Chat bubbles might be a boon in some cases, in plenty of other ones they detract from exactly that immersion that roleplayers are looking for by spamming your screen with needless clutter.

Maybe it's time to quit your "sole expert" act and accept that people think differently. And for the record, I've been playing MMO''s for 10 years this year, started with SWG.

then after playing SWG you should know better, at the end of the day chat bubbles offer many many benefits to a game, and no bad points, chat bubbles in no way make a game any worse, only better.

So the fact people ask for them and then people come on here and troll and slag people off and talk crap about chat bubbles shows that other people who think differently and dont like chat bubbles dont want anyone else to have them, the first mmos in the world had them, so to not have them is a slap in the face.

so i will quit my sole expert act when people stop bad mouthing what they dont understand because they are too little experienced with mmo's and their social need.

I don't understand how that is supposed to work either. I guess it makes it feel more like the characters are actually talking for some people.

Personally I find that it seriously detracts from my immersion when a cool scene is unfolding and everyone starts shouting things in chat bubbles.

And I guess you're the one who determines that?

I also don't agree with the statement that it makes it easier to see who's talking. If you know who's who you can easily connect names to characters, usually the chat logs also have some convenient functions like differently colored text for group / raid leaders etc., further adding to easy use.

I'd challenge you to coordinate equally well in a zerg PvP setting with chat bubbles when everyone starts shouting shit. It was confusing as hell in AoW I can tell you that.

This is how chat bubbles are,

Next time you speak to someone in real life don't look at them, look at your mobile phone and text type everything you and they say and read nothing but your phone for the entire chat... see what i mean? withotu chat bubbles we are unable to easily identify people on screen to their chat and have to mainly focus on a chat box and not the game, even for none roleplayers this is bad.

When some guy asks for help, or a ressurect, or a heal or if you want to party, without chat bubbles you will miss this most of the time, as shown by SWTOR and FFXIV.

People have this silly notion that chat bubbles will cover the entire screen with spam, but in my 16 years of gaming and mmo's i've never once seen this happen ever, not even in super busy mmos have i seen chat bubble spam EVER, and i doubt 50 people will stack in the same 1x1 meter square and spam chat...

Thats really a bad definition, because its simply not true, one of the problems with chat bubbles, is you only see who the 'bubble' is attached to, if your looking directly at them. otherwise the chat bubble will appear to the left or right of the screen, with no clear indication as to who made the comment (unless you read the chatbox), and in combat, it would be of no help whatsoever, you would be better off watching group members health bars, the only time i could maybe see chat bubbles working in combat, is if it was a top down view like LoL, from a first person viewpoint, chat bubbles are not really useful in any context. as for healing in combat etc, if someone has to ask for a heal then the healer isn't paying attention to what he/she should be doing, same with the tank not noticing healer agro, its down to situational awareness, if you have to ask, then, thats a poor job anyway.

Games i play with chat bubbles that never happens, i never see chat bubbles offscreen to the left or right... thats simply not true.

How big is an ESP party? 5 man? so in WvW or random questing that does not help, and the ability to see who is talking by looking at them is  needed no matter what anyone says, ffxiv, swtor did not have this and its hurt the games immersion a lot, like i said, it slike talking to someone IRL and looking at your ipad the entire time not the person.

If you have a choice, the answer is always PC.  There will be mods for ESO btw.

Honestly, I'm a bit worried about the console megaserver populations.  Pretty sure they might combine the PS4 and XB1 mega-servers in the future.

This will never happen because microsoft won't ever allow it, microsoft HATE cross platform gaming, they will never allow pc xbox and ps4 to play together, ffxiv wanted to be on all 3, and microsoft said if it come sout on xbox then the pc and ps4 and xbox cannot be cross server, they must be all separate.

Microsoft are the bane of the future of gaming cross platform, its digusting. thats why Square E turned down microsofts money and kept ffxiv pc and ps4 and made it crossplatform, but ESO has given into greed and will be 3 separate server forever.

Trying to decide if I should get the game eventually for the console or the PC

Pro for the PC maybe at least for me is that my MMOs are familiar playing on that platform and I have a high end graphics card

Pro for the Xbox one is that I have a large high def TV and well a couch to sit on lol

Guess this issue would be game play overall, any suggestions on which way to go? Espically for a MMO?

I think some topics came up for the Xbox one vs the PS4, didn't find any threads on vs the PC

I have a PC and PS4, at the end of the day, microsoft forced them to separate all 3 platforms servers, so as we all know mmos last a lot longer on PC, and are generally a lot better in gfx, controls and software like TS3 for guilds and pvp.

Most people are buying it on PC so there PC server will be faaar more populated, and it comes out 2 months earlier on the PC.

This is like someone saying they hate mcdonalds then going and buying and one and then complaining that they did not get enough fries because they ordered small and not large lol.

Welp ...seems to me that the vocal minority won't realise that they really have a choice of not buying the game.

Once they understand that once the general public stops buying such things, game companies will stop selling them.

Meanwhile as another nay sayer stops to respond to you and I, I would imagine that another pre-order has been sold, and not stopping anytime soon.

As for me...yeah think i'm ordering the physical copy for the shinies!!

Yes i bought physical CE and i'm unemployed on jobseekers £50 a week... if i can afford a £90 game i'm sure most people can.

the items in this CE are by far the best of any mmo i've ever bought in my life, and i got a lot of them.

Don't like it? Don't buy it... simple, end of.

Not only did they ignore players cries for an imperial race, and for all races - available to - all factions, but now they go and throw both those into one box and chrge you 150 bucks to have it!!

That is an outright deception of consumer interests and I will be filing a greviounce with the company first thing tomorrow morning!

God is no one else as outraged!?

"[Not only did they ignore players cries for an imperial race] and for all races - available to - all factions"

Where are these cries?  Secondly, why must nearly every online RPG have broken lore and a laissez-faire attitude toward realm politics? Here's a quickie on why Elder Scrolls is a grown up title, and properly expresses race and subsequently, a more realistic reason for finding purpose in warfare...

The basics are:

Lesson 1:  If a nation has no walls, everyone takes what they want when they want.

Lesson 2: Nations build walls.

Lesson 3: Other nations build ways to destroy those walls (see #1)

My point is:

Lesson 4: Life forms tend to bond in nations (hence the term national pride) in order to promote same gods and ethnicity

Lesson 5: Read about the Tolkien Elves and Dwarves.  There's a reason there were entire realms dedicated to one people.

I am utterly thankful Tolkien knew enough about lore to keep the Hobbits, Elves, Humans, and Orcs, from all randomly grouping to pk each other in the Shire.  Fantasy gets to be epic and somewhat believable (which ironically, is what makes good fantasy).  A lot of younger folks want to be able to do anything and go anywhere as they please because they don't have the intellectual capability to understand or appreciate depth - that's my opinion, but considering so few young folk read these days...

So good news - many games meet your standards.  Let us lore lovers have one of our own as well.  This ain't GW2, Age of Conan, or any other co-op.  It's an mmo where RPG matters.

What? I live in England and in England we have many types of people from the west to the Middle East and the east, people move here and live here and are loyal to the country.

In every ES game do you not start as a prisoner in a SET land and can play any race? Did skyrim force us to play nords?

You talk about walls but in real life we do not say someone from this country cannot come here at all, we have many races of people living together, so there’s no reason why a nord could not go and live in the Breton action lands and serve them, we are individuals not drones and racists, this is an RPG game, get used to it.

As for your lore on tolkein, that's completely wrong... dwarves traded with humans, elves traded with humans, many creatures in LOTR and the Hobbit mingled at times, when frodo went to the pony did everyone scream and shout wtf is that? or ask for ID in the pub for a pint? no they knew what eachother were mostly especially elves and dwarves.

I play LOTRO a lot and that game is based on the books and strict with tolkein lore and the game will show you how much the different races can come together despite their racist views at times.

Most of england lets say are english but that does not mean there are no other people here, and thats not a bad thing, its natural, england was made up of anglo saxons who came from the anglo, saxons and jutes, so don't say that its not normal for ESO to allow any race to live and do as he wants.

Sad but true.  A lot of games our making us pay extra for stuff that is a major part of the game.  I remember when Mass Effect 3 added the DLC with the Prothean character.  A major character who many felt should have been included originally in the game.  There was also the talk of DLC content already being in the game from the start and that it was just made unlockable for extra money.

1 race is not a major part of the game though is it, they want people to buy CE and giving something good is better than something crap like GW2 or SWTOR. you will not die if you do not buy IE for an extra £20, and pre ordering is free and you can just pre order get the code and cancel your pre order and whalla you have the race crossover unlocked, are people that ignorant? they did not think about doing that?

I think people are just raging for the sake of it, want the race pay for it, simple. people sub to WOW for years and then an expansion come sout, they buy it, for the new zones and class and race, do people moan about that? so ESO charging for Imperial race is no different than wow charging for worgen, goblin, draenei, blood elf, padaren.

Firstly i think people are going way over the top with their rage about this CE/Proder pack.

In the world of elders scrolls anyone who is a fan will realize that no race should be faction locked, that's not how any of the single player games play, if i want to play a Nord and kill Nords i can... Skyrim.

People who are raging over the play any race on any faction don't seem to realize that this is very good, my ONLY issue with the game was i wanted to play Breton and my friend Nord, and that meant we could not play together unless i was forced or he was forced to play something we did not want, is that a good game? no it is not so thank you Zenimax for allowing me and my friends to all play together no matter what race we each decide to pick.

For all those worrying and raging that it’s a preorder, you do realize you can preorder the game on amazon/ right now for FREE get the preorder code, add it to your account unlock all this content and then cancel your preorder so then you will always have the unlocks? So don’t claim poverty or time limited because ALL have the chance to do this right now regardless of when you decide to buy the game.

IMO this was always the plan, it was the only race not in the game due to the 3/3/3 faction race and i think they had this plan all along but kept it a secret a) for CE and b) to build gratitude and hype for people wanting to play an imperial and as any faction as a neutral race.

- - -

I myself will be playing an imperial as i think they look amazing and this also means people who lets say want to play certain factions can always play a human race no matter what faction they want to pick.

I don't get how people claim to love and support the elder scrolls series and them blatantly spit in the face of the devs who brought us this amazing game, if you don't like it don’t but it, I’m not forcing you to buy it, they are not forcing you to buy it. do NOT buy this game and then complain about issues and slag them off, its like someone buying mass effect and then saying then skip all quests and hate story, its just silly.

I have preorder physical CE and can't wait for this game to come out, i hope it does very well and the community grows strong.

The whole point of getting a sub. based game is that everyone pays the same fee and get the same starting conditions. But lo and behold, collectors edition not only gives you bonus experience, a faster mount and a completely new race?

This is so wrong on atleast two ways. First, obviously, the fact that if you buy a collectors edition you will get significant exclusive content but also sets a precedence for the inevitable cash shop. Do you really think that if they offered this race in the collectors edition, they aren't going to offer the same or similar in the cash shop? Effectively turning this game to your typical F2P game, except it is not F2P. It is box+SUB and now also exclusive content which you need to pay for on top of the montly sub.

So true subscription based games, as we know it, are dead. RIP.

Either accept this cash shop plus P2P nonsense or move on from the MMO genre. Looking more and more to do the latter. Sad to see such a promising genre which started with UO (for me atleast) get turned into this.

WoW is a sub only game with a cash shop, so the answer no.
