I for one think they are useless, I have a guild and always gave items to my members, why would I want to sell to my own members? Also why would I sell and lose money when I can mail  it? I mean what were they thinking?

They you need 50 people to get one, which we had anyways, but the whole process makes no sense to me, I normally never complain about much, but this has me annoyed, I been gaming for 25 years and in the gaming industry, this idea has to be one of the worse ideas I ever seen.

Its like when I own a business and I only can sell to my employees , wow I will make a lot, I like trading and crafting , they ruined this part for me. I  like the game over all, but this I do not, nor see the whole point of it..

the whole 5 guild thing, I can see people steal from one guild to sell to another... I bet people pull that crap... Which it promotes that as well another thing. MMO's are suppose to be about community and I feel they are killing It with this whole 5 guild trash.

Do any of these devs play MMO's?  I do and been part of a team that makes MMO's I always tell them to add some social aspects, but the guys upstairs don't care, so that's why ESO is no different its sad to see MMO's do this it really is...

/rant off

Divided-Allegiance is recruiting like minded people to join a community who knows how to treat others in the gaming world.

We treat all of our members with respect, we are one of few guilds who don't care about how many people we have, we want like minded people who want to have a good time gaming with out the bullshit

So if your looking to join a community we will group with you and not ignore you like a lot of them do, well come give us a shot, you won't regret it.

We also play many other games in our community. We don't kick any members for being inactive. We all have lives and understand, that real life comes first.

Check us out Divided-Allegiance.com

We are playing Dagger fall , but you can be anyone you like.!

How about make sandbox, virtual world, and alternative  (MMOFPS, MMORTS, etc) games for the people who want them and the people who like themeparks have tons to choose from as well. You don't need to close something down to open up something new.

Companys have tried this, the issue the Themeparks gamers normally throw a fit... If I had it my way we would have no hand holding in  any game. But i'm not selfish and understand there are other gamers who like other games.  But I would never make a game with hand holding at all.  But again, I don't make games justf or profit, I make them because I enjoy to and of course money is important it is not the first thing in my head thinking, how can I screw this person today and over charge .

So, since *you* don't like a certain style of MMO, they should NOT exist for those that DO like them?

Wow... The entitlement is strong in this one.

I'm pretty sure there are many others who share my opinion.

Don't bring the "You" argument into this.

Being in the gaming industry, you need to have all kinds of games...Today more than  ever because to many people like different games..... So closing Theme parks would be silly to do... Their  is more fans of Themepark  than any other game on the market..

I perfer not to play Theme parks anymore, not that they are good, but  I been gaming a long time and want something else. I know many gamers who hate the games I play and  perfer Theme parks.

MMO'S are dieing, and people can argue they are not all they want. The fact is any good Dev, or company is going to stay away from MMO's... You know why???  Angry birds, Flapper birds, they take weeks to months to make and need 1 dev . They make more and less hassel than MMO's...

You don't have every person screaming for this and that. When I got into the industry I wanted to help make MMO's better but after dealing with the public, now I see why most good devs and companys are going the other way...  I will stick to  my phone games tyvm...

no offense  programming is not easy, it is a skill.  I'm a programmer and would never work for free ever.    Sorry but any programmer worth anything will not work for free.

Some advice, pay them per script..  You can use smaller amounts for  a  newer programmer most will not work for nothing.  Also post this on Unity site, you have a way better chance to find someone willing to help you.

Profit sharing is dangerous, you may not make any money, plus you need proper contracts.  I been doing this for many years, and got screwed by a few people.. So anyone good, will pass just saying.

I would suggest more incentive to this, and show more of what you have done.

Good luck.

"We have a team of programmers and artists who have worked with companies such as Ubisoft, maximize games and also on their own projects.  "

PS:

Why would you need a programmer if you have people like this on your team? They should be able to do this, and have contacts for anything nearly.  I'm a developer for AAA and indies I always fine people to do something if we can't.

Anyways again I wish you luck, but that comment look shady to me.

Over hyped and everyone falling for the same trap as in previous hyped MMO's.

Confused, how it is a trap when all of us have played it and liked what we see.  Just because we don't like your games, does not mean, we should like a game... Why would you care. When I dislike a game, I move on, I don't go to a forum to bash someones hard work.

I wish more gamers would make games, so they can see why, we get annoyed by senseless posts.   We enjoy it, and you don't so nothing more to see here.

I had such high hopes for this game.  Too bad it will be nothing more than a PvP hackfest.

Why bother posting, you know you have games like WOW and rift to play?

Others like these kind of  games, so I just don't understand these comments on forums.. There are so many care bear games out there its nuts and many clones...  I don't understand, why you feel the need to make comments that are false..

Anyways, I guess this is why MMO's are dieing, because todays gamers want it all their way and for nothing...

I don't really expect much from the MMO genre anyway since it seems like the entire genre has been pigeon holed into roughly the same kind of setting for the last decade.  It's more surprising when something like The Secret World comes out or Star Trek Online.

Problem is todays gamers whine , if its not WOW, or something easy. I liked TSW because it was harder , not the same stuff... The issue is most good devs have moved away from MMO's... Which is smart, I would never be a apart of any more MMO's again, to many people whine, about that its to easy, its to hard, its not free!!!.... Can't stand it anymore and neither can devs, and companys..

Alls I got to say give it a few more years and bye bye MMO's... Hardly any good dev will touch them ...or the ones with any brains.

See my other post - most games like this have been horrible.  Wurm has managed because it has relatively few players and not a whole lot else going on in it.  Add player-combat, survival, terraforming and everything else a full-scale MMO has together and you get a disaster when more than 20 people start trying to connect.

Xsyon, I think is the last game that tried this and.... *shudder*... disconnects, lag from hell, server de-synch, terrain glitches, you name it!

I don't think people are aware of the massive calculations required when a plot of land shifts from a height of 1 to 2.5 every few seconds when someone decides to build a pile of dirt - gamers and developers alike.  Wurm is relatively primitive by most standards.  Try adding things like dynamic lighting and updated graphics and the processing power increases ten-fold.  Then multiply that by the number of clients connected.....

Xsyon has this at release.... Not much after, I love when people spout trash that is not true.. If some of you dislike new games why post???  Go play wurm... Do I go on Wurms post and whine how much I hate it??? No.. So if you don't like what this company is  doing then go away..

Are you afraid they may do it better?? Nothing wrong with any company doing the same things, movies do it and so have games, WOW has copied so many MMO's and look how well they did?

Been on the MMO scene for a very long time, and I've seen companies like MMORPG.com and other review sites suck the **** of games that have been terrible, just because they have big names.

Age of Conan, Warhammer and Guild Wars 2 being the most notable. Anyone who was an MMO veteran when these games were releasing probably remembers thinking these games would be the next WoW, or the next Jesus Christ, etc. That's what the review companies were spouting.

And then you actually got to play the games... and yeah, we know the history.

My point is, why is it all of a sudden a game like ESO, which I thoroughly enjoy and think is so much better than anything that has released in years, is getting such terrible reviews, while games which almost no one enjoyed - received such AWESOME reviews?

What's going on? Did Zenimax not pay someone? Is this an organized plot by a competitor? I hate to be the conspiracy theory guy, but I don't understand. Or, is this just some sort of meme which has spread across the internet like wildfire, or doge? "ESO sucks, not worth $15, armor painted on, blah blah blah" (Anyone else notice the reviews all use the exact same terminology? I had never heard anyone say "armor painted on" before ESO, yet I've heard it in EVERY-SINGLE-REVIEW!)

I'm a skeptic, and I think some BS is going on..

You see a pattern? How can so many reviews be wrong? I'm buying the game... but if there are so many reviews that trash the game, there must be something to it.

But how many times, have we seen reviews that were good and the game was trash... hmmmmm  Maybe people who review games are retarded??? This could be,  I been in the industry for to long, and see my fair share of morons..

I have see so called press lie their asses off about a piece of shit game to get us to buy it, but this is the first time I've seen press lying their asses off about a great game to try and get us not to buy it.

Frankly I think it is time for game devs to start re-evaluating who truly deserves to be considered press.

I think Angry Joe really states the real issue here. The ENTITLED mentality.

Basically he states...

If ESO was a FREE game with this awesome engine, fantastic combat, superior graphics, and huge huge world, this would be the BEST game EVER!!

But because it's not FREE it sucks....

This whole entitled mentality that has become so prevalent  really pisses me off.

ESO is costing them a rather sizable investment, to provide a quality staff, and NOT to pink slip the whole dev team right after launch like EVERY F2P game has done costs money.

If you do not like it then go play one of the 100's of F2P games that you are bored with in two weeks, or raising hell because they have no support staff and you have to wait weeks to get an email answered.

Tons of us are excited over ESO and even more excited to be getting back to a sub based model so we do not have to put up with gold spammers, botters, hackers, chat spamming idiots, and entitled kiddies.

Finally someone said it, AMEN brother!!

it is simple, if they dont donate or support the media in a form then they get bad mouth by them. This is old news and typical of the media in the U.S. Just play the game you will love it and then you dont have to read on the bs put downs from the media.

This is not just the US, this is every where but yes media ruin everything, no matter where it is, and what it is.. This site people love to bash every game  on the market, no matter what, look at every game, for years I have said this....

What is happening to our mmo's ??? I am older for sure, I thought  mmos would become more complex. I rember when we dreamed of being able to have sound coming from our computers. I rember when we used to dream of having pictures on our computers. I keep hopeing for more challenging play but I have to admit lately its seams the trend is dumer and dumer games.

5 attacks a potion slot and elite skill is going to get boaringly repetitive very fast.

Walking around spamming e thousands of times at boxes etc is going to hurt our hands.

EVERYTHING in the eso world is kinda washed out dul brown looking.

Zenimax, hun, if u make a dumbed down, simple, repetive, slow moving game and charge a monthly fee for and have a cash shop and charge 80 dollars for people to try it, it is not going to last in the mmo market.

The charcter models don't look sexy or strong and the armour looks horrable and bland.

Combat is deeper then one would expect... it really shines in group situations and PvP.... and please tell me what MMO has really fun solo combat?

You missed on those 5 attacks... having 18 different attacks to do DPS in a rotation does not give combat more depth then having a single attack that does DPS... in ESO all your 12 hotbar buttons have their own reason and function... and you truely meed to make choices based on what happens in the game ... and not repeat the same rotation time and time again just to do DPS, give moer healing or keep agro.. and keep in mind that in a game like EQ... people only had how many skills? And we loved it all...

So you dont like an active realtime combat system because it hurts your hands... good point... i just dont agree, get a good position behind your PC and relax..

So you prefer bright colorfull cartoonish graphics.... above the semi realistic ESO graphics... just get out of your lazy chair and walk intoo mother natures garden and see how much dull brown there is...

No they did not make a dumbed down simple game... you just dont see or dont agree the challenges ..

The character models are great.. (true, you can still not make fat toons or really beefy conan toons... but the models are realistic and there is enough sliders and such to make a toon to your liking that looks different from all others..

And if you only would have spend some time, you would have found that allready on the character creation tab there is an option to show veteran armors on your character, and these veteran armors look great... By level 7 some people got an armor piece from the queen that allready looked stunning...  From the armor we saw a few months ago that just looked like it was painted ontoo the body, nothing is left... things got vastly improved...

I have been playing MMOs since the releae of good old EQ... and i actually love the direction current day MMO´s are taking... but then i love a good story... but most of all, i just love MMO´s that feel different from all those that i played before... and thats where ESO is doing a very good job.. It feels like ESO... Not like any MMo i played before, and not like Skyrim either... it feels like ESO and i liked what i see... and with over 500 hours of stories, 16 great dungeons, awesome PvP and even endgame adventure sones... and more freedom to build my own character then any other MMO-   I think i am set for a great deal of fun... and if it only lasts for a few months, even then it was worth its money...

How can an oldtimer like you complain about the monthly subs and costs, as we have allways been paying for these box prices and these subs...really... i still pay as much for a sub as i did 15 years ago... and everything else in this big bad world got way more expensive..

I'm an older gamer and a Game Designer, so amen to this.. There is no way he can be an older gamer with this comment. So I agree with you... No idea what his deal is.. Maybe MMO's aren't for him and he needs a cheaper hobby?? Maybe paper air planes?

It makes me really sad to look at Elder Scrolls online, such a wasted opportunity. They've taken one of the best game IPs in the games industry, taken out literally every game mechanic that makes Skyrim the masterpiece it is and then wrapped it around a cookie cutter MMO.

Lets be honest, the combat is floaty, lacks weight and is a jerky mess. The animation is just as bad and even little things like not being able to swim underwater really jar. In terms of content there's very little to do apart from run from quest to boring quest using said naff combat.

Then we come to the pricing, you guys who play this are being charged top whack. Add to this a monthly sub and then the insult that is a pay wall to access the best race in the game. It feels like a money grab guys, I'm sorry but it makes me really annoyed to  see people being ripped off. This game simply cannot survive on the pay model it's being launched at, there is not real end game unless you count the PVP (which I hear is good) and so this will be F2P in the very near future. Same thing happened with Starwars, amazing IP violated by being made into an MMO we've seen a hundred times before.

For me there is only one MMO worth looking at this year and that's Wildstar.

What I got out of this post was, OMG, its not free so i'm not playing... Wild star I tested that, don't make me laugh at the cartoony mess. If you think thats good, you got to be blind. Nothing to do??? ROFL, I played this game for 6 months and yet to finish everything it has to offer, so i'm confused..  The pricing Lets see games since 2004, WOW 15 a month , its ten years later, oh the same price.  60 for the box for WOW... Guess what the same price for this game... I'm confused were you gamers get this its to much money.. You have this free to play attitude, and its getting annoying, I want it back to the old days when we have all the subs back!!!!

This will drive out the people who ruin communitys!! This is a fact.

Actually, you have 10 skills and 2 ultimate because of weapon swapping PLUS light and heavy attacks and an active blocking system. So that would be...15 ''abilities'' (counting attacks and blocking as you have to press something, so I consider it an ability like pressing 1 throught 6...), not 5.

Less abilities doesn't mean the game is dumbed down, it means you can focus more on what is on screen instead of doing your crazy 18 buttons rotation in your tab-target typical MMO. Unfortunately, if I read your comment right, you think more buttons=more complex gameplay and less ''dumbed down''...So I guess you will never be satisfied until your whole screen has action bars and your typical rotation has 72 buttons in it lol...

Also, the game is not simple, repetitve (well, a LITTLE, but all MMOs are...) or slow moving... I don't know where you got that.

Everything being brown and dark colors, there is a lot of colors and the lighting is amazing. No, it doesn't have crazy yellow or electric blue everywhere on the screen, but that's what a non-cartoony MMO looks like...

I agree the character models....well it's more the armor models really... are not top notch, but that is to allow huge 500 vs 500 battles without getting 2 FPS.

Finally a gamer that understands game design!!! Most gamers think Devs can make God of WAR with 4 million polys models, and have 80 FPS!!! They dont understand MMO's would lag like hell!!   They just don't understand..

@ OpFYI, if us dev made harder games gamers today would have a heart attack, and not play it. I  have made small scale tough games and people whine, its to hard . This is why WOW is the  most played MMO, because its easy..!! Why do you think I like indies, because we will make something harder and different...  But then  people cry OMG the graphics arent great!!

Gamers want it all and for free, if your an older gamer, you would understand, we work for  living to, and to give you it all would require more money from you!. Which will never happen, so they need to balance it. Plus not everyone has a  high end machine. People  whined about SWTOR, when in fact they said from day 1 they were going to have lower graphics on purpose so people with low end machines could play to.

AOC made an amazing looking game but hardly anyone could play it, so many companys know better than to do what they did. So they rather listen to you all whine, the graphics are never  good enough. I 3d model and been an artist for over twenty years in gaming industry. ESO,  is fine for an MMO, and better than fine, the shaders are amazing, so you guys need to open your eyes better and know what type of game it is. Just because you don't see shiney objects like WOW, that doesn't make it better LOL... I have heard this from people for years, they think since its not shiney that its bad graphics. This has always made me laugh so loud at you guys.!!

Really annoys me how these indie studios are able to go back to the free money teat over and over without ever meeting their promised deadlines from their first cash grabs.

Totally lost faith in kickstarter and only kicking myself for ever falling for it in the first place.

^^This^^ though thankfully, I didn't hear about the game until a few months after the first Kickstarter. Glad I didn't see it and pledge, because it's annoying that Kickstarter campaigns keep coming back begging for more money before delivering the original promised game. That keeps me from backing many Kickstarters.

It's going to change. This may or may not be the title that it will happen with, but sooner or later, once players start getting burned and are out hundreds, Crowd Funding will not be the fountain of money it is now.

An good MMOs are going to end, so it will be people that whines fault, we donors know this can happen and will.. But this game has not broken and promises, show me one... They have always said no dead line period.....

Looks like they are trying to cash in hard as long as they still can.

If behind that heavy pricing there would be actual confidence in the product, they would have dropped the NDA before enabling preorders.

If they lacked confidence in the product, they would be offering a lifetime subscription.  And no, I won't change that opinion if they suddenly offer a lifetime sub, it will be a sure indication that they expect the free option to come sooner rather than later. (The later is inevitable, for every game.)

Really and thats is why, WOW is sub base, and EVE, oh and even Asheron call 1, after 14 years, its still sub based.

I perfer subs that way have to deal with whiney little people, who whine about prices.

When I got get a nice rib dinner for my wife and I I spent about 50-60 bucks, so i'm a bit confused how people think for a game, thats is expensive.

Game engines, cost thousands, and thousands, for each software that is needed, 3DS Max, Maya, animation software, Photoshop, little programs here and there, all cost over 3k , they need to buy these programs for each person..

Next they need to buy programs, like NDO2, AND Dd20, and the  list goes on...

I would love for you to make a game, and listen to people whine about the costs of a game, that costs millions to make, and they need to pay DEVS, advertisement ,servers, etc , etc..

I mean cmon people, really, I played baseball and bowling as a kid, and I had to spend 120 bucks every 6 months for a new bowling ball, I had t buy equipement, baseball even worse, because I was a catcher, and this was 20 years ago..

Your hobbys are dirt cheap and yet people whine!! Work for  living would ya!
