The actual numbers will be more, but It will still give the same loss of activity % even if everyone used it. It could even be worse if more Xfire users play SWTOR than other games

No one  knows that   because no one knows actual numbers and retention rates. You are still making stuff up.                                                      

When i saw popori and elin running around bashing monsters with huge weapons i couldn't take Tera seriously. Each to his own.

How many tiems i have heard that? other than its combat system... Tera plays like  typical themepark MMOS, so to say it won't appeal to WOW crowd is just absured.

Tera was already labeled as WOW killer, just do a search and you will find ridiculous claims that were being made how this game is going to kill WOW. Some people just never learn and repeat same stupidity every time a new MMO is about to release.

Retention matters even for B2P. If i don't like what GW2 has to offer i will not buy expansions and stop playing. Only because it doesn't cost monthly sub means nothing if game isn't enjoyable.

EvE,DF,AC1...All pretty successfull with EvE having the most consistency of the pack and as time goes by we will see more death penalty mmo's that will most likely adopt EvE's structured safe zone mechanics.

 

MO is just a shit bad game on its last leg, and yes i think its on last leg reguardless of who ever it is funding it...No buisness man is going to keep investing without seeing any return, even if his daddy is loaded.

DF successful? really? AC1 is ancient...so all you got is EVE.

DF had a solid run (maybe 2 years?) in which it kept both NA and EU servers very healthy all while releasing 3-4 xpacs and not being able to meet the supply demand at launch....

 

The flaws in the skill system eventually killed DF1 but reguardless it was very successfull for the run it had...so much so that there making  2.0.... so yeah i would call that successfull.

 

Who cares if AC1 is ancient.....its still up and running and Darktide is and has always been the most populated server in it....the fact that its "ancient" only strengthens my case.

You call 2 years run a solid run? even though DF struggled  with subs for all these 2 years? but i guess for sandbox lovers that is what counts success? So let us see, a game which is dead, another one which is ancient and one above average performing sandbox..that is three in total. Even though i will only give EVE credit out of all three.

No wonder investors run away from sinking money in sandboxes.

Put it this way,i have played GW2 at gamescom and Tera is the closes feeling i have had to that games combat. ROLLING  around and doding, GW2 offers more.

Yes, we have holy trin but people need to realise that it's not going to go away over night.Yes we have fed x quests but again that is not a game breaker at all.

Armour is a low point for sure.

But let's give credit where credit is due,the combat is not the same old same old stuff we have had for years compared to leading mmos.

Is it in the same league as GW2..nope but it a damn good MMO.

It is smooth and looks great and later levels the game get's pretty dark. 

Compared to swtor,Tera wipes the floor with it.

Bring on GW2 FOR MORE GREAT MMO FUN

 

 

If MMOS would survive only one one or two features we wouldn't have so many sub bar MMOS. other than combat what else Tera has goign for it? as far as Tera wiping floor with SWTOR, money talks. And there is still a long time before we can arrive to that conclusion. A game that performed sub par in its own country would succeed in west? some how i doubt it.

This is the point ! 

Difficulty, Quests, Dungeons ect. can still be upgraded. But the grafic engine and combat not so easy. Look at SWTOR, game was good, but it pisses me of to have low fps as soon as I see another player...

Seems like TERA have a solid basement for a great mmo.

Even graphic engine can be upgraded. look at LOTRO, EQ2 and EVE for example. SWTOR is based on hero engine which can be upgraded to dx 11.

I enjoyed the combat and disliked everything else. A MMO needs a lot more than just one feature to keep people playing.

Freeport server is where everyone is at these days.  I rolled a Beast lord and having loads of fun.
