I guess, even as your friend Vmoped lol um I have to contridict you a lil
Awsome graphics, but yea I get lag! Even on a notch below balanced, but it sall on my end. so im buying new parts lol I enjoy the way the classes are structured. Quests are a tad repitious at times, but then you get A Foul Wind "Go find so and so" well you go there to the FireMyst valley and you find out everyone you went to see was killed by crazed creatures. You rampage through there to put their souls at rest. That one was a tad different cause it never todl you to kill anything, yet you were having too. Of course the Quest Con system is a tad screwy, some of the green quests still have to be done by groups so it gets to be a pain in the ass to find that out lol. Battling of course repitious...Every Single game is repitious on fighting. The part that makes it fun is going somewhere new. I stay in alot of groups so im traveling all over the place all the time. The Mob problem..yea..I've only had that problem on 1 Mob. The Scarecrows!!! They don't spawn enough and they only spawn in one spot. Atleast with the jillion gnoll quests available there's gnolls of that type all over the place. As for Bears and wolves well if you're old enough I found tons of places for those too! lol.
Over all Im happy with the game *shrug* and addicted. I just hate the invisible mobs and the disappearing npc's, but thats just minor bugs they'll fix. As for broken quests, the bone chip quest isn't broken, maybe it was broken in the Instance of the Island you were on. |

Although there is some customization in EQ2 as far as skills, yes it is small. But has anyone really realized that the characters from everquest 2 take up about 5 times the memory that an EQ1 character did. If they added anything else onto those characters we'd probably be limited to 2 characters per account (not server PER account, right now its 4).
IT would be cool to see a game thats completely like that..but....you know it would be insanely hard to Balance properly. I mean the min anyone figures out a good combo to make some power character and posts how he did it everyone would make that character. there would be no need for group just like Horizons!! Hell just like Shadowbane. Once you figure out a good combonation with the characters there everyone does it. |

I agree you should play the game more before stating all these. You can do a betray quest and Transfer yourself 1 time and 1 time only to another city. So You dont just have to start over. The branching skill system is actually really great. Its immersing you in the fact hey Im a low level character I want to train really hard and become this like awsome character. But doing it from almost a story point. You aren't just born into a job as a ranger. You gotta start somewhere right?
This game is far far far superior than EQ, it gets rid of all the super gaming that the Planes of power unleashed, and Horizons? OMG that game sucked it was so boring after like a week, because you could become anything you want and you never had to group. It might as well of been a one player game.
Restrictions are there for a purpose but if you paid any attention to pre-launch details those restrictions are worth all the stuff you get to choose from as you get older.
I personally feel like a Wandering Adventurer I've been all over Antonica, all over every city. I definitly dont feel restricted in my roll! |

Uhhhhh ok first of all most of the quests give you clues to who they are like. Getting armor from SQ usually means look for armorer and what not. If you really take a lil bit of pause from "power" gaming you figure out all the city zones pretty good and what NPC's the Guards can actually find. I've done 107 quests and alot of them are find npc, kill npc, spy on npc, find this item but get ambushed and so on. The only one I found difficult was the Tour of Antonica quest.
YOU can not compare this game to DAoC why? Because Everquest 2 just came out. Its one of the most complete games ever at launch. Im not saying your Opinion is worthless, but I am saying perhaps you're doing something wrong in the game if your having a hard time with the easier quests. |

If you played in the Beta you know how to Level that fast by doing a ton of quest, which if you look at that guy's stats he's obviously taken time off from work or what ever responsiblity he has so that he can play the game and do everything. My friend basically leveled to 12 in one day when he made a new character during beta because he knew where everything is. But once you get 12 it slows down no matter what you do, since the mobs get tougher and well since most people aren't that guy's age yet, the groups to join are rather thin. Eitherway there is always someone who's got no life and spends tons of time in the game :) its just the way it is. Course it doesn't mean im not totally jealous as hell! |

There's a reason why the game industry has different names for different phases of testing. You know Alpha Testing is usually all internal, maybe a few external. Beta can be broken into different phases, Then there's stress testing, to see what everything can handle. NOW there's Open Beta, which means OPEN as in Anyone and everyone that comes poking at the door is supposed to get in. See there's nothing wrong with the registrastion key process, but limiting it doesn't make it open. Blizzard has advertised this as an Open beta that anyone can come play not only on the internet but in magazines all over the place. They told us that the servers were not ready to handle all the incoming beta players, so its "limited" In reality this tells me that DAy 1 is going to be Ultra Hell to play. People said that by EQ2 not having open beta they're hiding something, but by blizzard Blatantly saying Hey this is open but if you don't get here fast enough you can't play, that they are hiding the fact their servers and their bandwidth are far from ready for the madness of Day 1. I have no doubt, both Games are going to do pretty damn well at first, but I have doubt of what WoW is going to be like in a few months. Im not whining that "i can't get in" because I did the first set of stress tests for the game so I have been in and I really don't plan to go back at the moment anyway. I just think Blizzard is jerking people around at this point and its a little disappointing from a company that I've always enjoyed games from. Anyway to those that play the "open" Beta have fun :) |

What sucks about some stores...they May tell you they have the game you pre ordered but if its not the official launch date aka Nov 9th..THEY won't sell it to you period. Some of their stores Break this rule..these stores get the perverable "tongue" lashing to an extent from their superiors but thats about it. So..now we have to sit here and watch all these other people play the game..*sigh* but :) from what I can tell No real major progress is going on except by 1 Character and taht guy..Locke or what ever...LOL must have no life or took time off to be as far ahead as he is. To become level 12 in one day takes about 8 to 10 hours of play. My friend was able to do it during beta but only after he figured everything out with another character. |

I doubt WoW will ever OUT subscribe Everquest 2. I played the Beta for both and Everquest was far superior, not only in graphics but in treatment of their players. WoW yes, is being made by a great company but they're paying little to NO attention to advice from veteren players who KNOW what they like and are willing to spend money to get it. Instead they're releasing patches that completely KILL every aspect of the game including PvP.

I only got to beta test the game for a week but got to level 13 as a Predator. I did ...god knows how many quests, found quests off mobs, found quests off ground spawns. There's quite a bit a history involved to some of them. I Love how I went on a quest to help kill gnolls after feeling "enraged" by the images I saw from an old abandoned tower bell that my character touched. By the time that quest was done I had found another quest that involved the gnolls and their plans to cause havoc on the food supply for Qeynos by making these haunted scarecrows. I actually had one quest that when I was finshed with the item they gave me was a quest that would take me all over the continent, but I wasn't quit eold enough to risk one of the places I needed to go. Everquest 2 is FAR FAR FAR from storyless or contentless, infact the content seems never ending which i like. when I beta'd WoW for the stress test, I became incredibly bored, incredibly fast. Their were very few quest and still is. But if you are into PvP thats what WoW is, if you're into PvE then Eq2 is the place for you. |

Wow Starman...such an "adult" thing to say. I dont expect anyone to believe me, even though I am telling the truth. You speak for the "gaming" community yet, I AM part of the "gaming" community and several other people here who are enjoying their games are from the "community" and none of us flame their company. You can hate SOE all you want but atleast be educated on the truth. Hell the developers of SWG said those exact comments of everything in this game is approved or put in the game by Lucasarts.
Regardless...Im getting excited about the release date for EQ2 and its good to hear that the lag issues for some of the zones is starting to take place. Noooooooooooooooo im out of soda!!! Can..not...Sleep yet! |

Wow its amazing the depth of rather uneducated ramblings when it comes to SOE. First of all, SOE was not the primary reason that SWG had such a crappy first day. Although it was there programmers developing the game, everything including launch dates and the material that goes into the game is handled by Lucas Arts! The only thing SOE is responsible for now at this point is eating all the crap people say and running the servers. NO MMO has ever come out complete, anyone that even tries to say its just the way SOE works, has no idea about MMO's or hasn't played enough of them at Launch to know that there is always going to be stuff that doesn't work or was left out. From what I read from alot of players in Beta, EQ2 is closer to being finished than any other game thats ever launched for an MMO. Of course there's concerns about the game, there's concerns about every new MMO thats about to be launched. SOE's developers have always been quick in trying to address bugs and issues or missing things in Everquest. It may not seem like it, but then no one really realizes that its not just 1 thing that breaks. For every 1 thing a programmer fixes or add in, atleast 100's more break because of it. Granted alot of those issues can be quickly addressed but its alot when every patch adds in atleast 10 or more things. When you have multiple programmers and even with the standards of coding that every one has, its bound to happen that something doesnt work right when its all integrated together. Anyone that wants to say I dont know what Im talking about, well you dont' know how dead wrong you really are. I went to school, I've worked on group projects for making games and let me tell you. When you finally finish something and you're play testing it to turn it in, you always always always!! Find something wrong with it. It doesnt make you bad or inexperienced, it just happens. Its impossible to account for everything that could go wrong. You can only preplan for what you think will go wrong. Im not some lil fangirl of SOE, but I've met some of their people at GDC and at school. Every one of them are hard workers. When you say its about money, believe me you have no idea how much money this company or any company working on a project of this size is spending. Eventually they have to start making money back on it or it wont be a viable commodity and then like so many games we all wanted to see released, or company's we loved games from, it has to close and people lose jobs and we lose out on games we liked. btw I would not buy *dung* in a box with EQ2's sticker on it. Im extremely picky about what software I buy. I started out really wanting WoW, thinking Eq2s requirements were just to much to deal with, but after stress testing WoW and reading all the things they're doing. How they're handling suggestions and comments from their own beta testers I decided against it for now. Perhaps when the game is more balanced I'll add it to the list of games im playing at the same time. (finishes ranting and goes to find a soda) Noooooooooooooooo im out of soda!!! Humm lets see...I could be wrong but. In the first loop its setting the array to hold the same number as its index. j[0] would hold the value 0 etc etc. The second loop would probably blow the entire program up since it says i[i] and not j[i]. I is an integer not an array. But then if its a typo it'd print 0 0 1 1 2 2 etc etc. Printf reads the string prints it out to the screen. it translates %d as an decimal value. All other entries to the function are what the function reads into the %d or other % commands. course its 2 am my brain is a tad melted so ... Noooooooooooooooo im out of soda!!!
