Second Life: Roleplay Series - Second Life Gor
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/10/09 11:47:27 AM
Out of all the things they could possibly report on in this "Non" Game they continue to allow on this website..they have to go and report on one of the more disgusting communities? I mean seriously the subjucation and enslavement of women..yea sure its an RP and the females that participate do so willingly but its hardly a Good RP community to play in. I mean how hard is it create a barbaric asshole that keeps women hidden under clothes and bring him to life? Not very. Atleast in Conan women could be ass kicking warriors as well in Gor if your a woman you might as well be a spec of dirt. I still whole heartedly protest Second Life being on this website. Its not a game...its Creators have said its NOT a game. Its a social and creative atmosphere and some people just happen to run RPG games out of it. When they aren't being bombarded by people making fun of them. |

Funny last time I logged on last night there was tons of world..tons of places to go..NPC"s moving about the world as if they live in it. They patrol, they toss themselves in mud, they wander around the city crying, being sick, getting chased by guards. The city's are a world to themselves infact..hell in The Inevitable city there's an arena full of gladiators kicking ass and taking names and they will attack you if you go to close. In Altdorf witch hunters are constantly harrassing suspected citizens, assasins are lurking by the docks (got chased). Honestly you really should learn to shut up Altairzq |

1. You can't Queue into a Scenario from the city...if your sitting in the city doing scenarios why don't you go to where your party member is and do something else? 2. Its your choice to do Scenarios..some people grind scenarios some people open rvr and some people pve...thsoe that are smart doing a bit of everything. 3. Did I mention that was your choice to play that way so its your own fault? Some people are so used to being held by the hand and lead everywhere but a game that gives you a choice to be lead, to do whatever you want, or just grind seems to confuse the masses. Its entertaining to say the least. WAR is built as progression..they progress you train you prepare you with each Tier for thel ast Tier. Tier 1 gives you the basics for objective points, lairs, pq's etc Tier 2 gives you the basics, keeps, and a starter dungeon. Tier 3 gives you basics, more keeps, bigger rvr lakes, and the start of the public dungeons. Tier 4 gives you basics, Fortresses, HUGE RvR lakes, public dungeons, and a chance to City Siege if you can use all you've learned and lock down 2 fortresses and meet several other realm requirements. All of this helps to raise your city up or down and give you access to even more dungeons, pq's, items, guild stuf and more. People seem lost on the concept that the world might actually be affected. 4. There's no reason to grind levels ...rushing to End Game nets you nothing infact it puts you pretty far behind since you've not participated in any of the realm progression with the way your playing. 5. try diong something other than sitting on your ass in the city and actually go out and explore. I've already made multiple tome unlocks and netted some pretty nice Gear set peices from doing something all sorts of things. |

They wanted to prove its possible to make an MMO game within three years instead of the 5 to 6 years that alto of games including AoC and WoW had. This is how they sold themselves to EA. Guess what? They did it...they got the game up and running in 3 years in impressive condition. Yes there are bugs but what game has ever launched without them? Yes sometimes theres' stability issues but all games even games years old have these issues. It happens. Most MMO's launch with missing content and no end game, medocre crappy classes etc. Mythic has no missing content contrary to belief that taking out cities is missing content its really not..everything you need is there. there are no holes in the game where your stuck without enough to do. end game is also present. Mythic didn't run out of money...for pete's sake their part of EA a multi million maybe even billion dollar world company...they were hardly straped for cash. |

Warhammer is definatly worth buying tho. You amuse me I watch your posts Coyoteturkey...you really should try the Group Features int he game doing the standard cheap PvE quests and some scenarios is like only a quarter of the experience. People tend to forget, omit, or not realize that the game has a ton of different ways you can play the game...if you dont want to group you don't have too and you can do a good bit of the content (it does take longer by yourself and PQ's can't be fully enjoyed since there are some that are down right impossible to solo or do with a group smaller than 12 people dont let people fool you there are PQ's out there that are different than the Kill X, find X kill boss ). IF you want to group you can and you get to see pretty much all the content. Some things like Seiging, etc just can't not be enjoyed alone and their public Group feature makes it pretty easy to find people to play with. Granted alot of noobs and elitist guilds neglect it but *shrug* thats their own fault. |

Two simple changes Mythic needs to make URGENTLY!
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/25/08 12:33:45 PM
There's a general chat channel for every area of a game....having an entire zone global chat how ever would suck major ass. Its quiet but then most of the talkign is giong on in teamspeak, vent, group chat, guild chat, warband chat. This is an MMORPG game I really don't want to hear more crybaby whining then I already do from stupid noobs to incompetent to figure out how to use the In Game User Manual so their questions on how to do things and where to go are already answered. |

Your download was crappy thats not Mythic's fault especially when most people who download from D2D haven't had any problem. There are multiple ways to contact customer support everyone and Jesus are using email which means your unlikely to get any real help. Honestly you bitch moan and cry over a digital download anything could of happened during that download that is not Mythic's fault. I've had nothing but great customer support experiences from Mythic but then again each their own. Some people just like a reason to blame everyone and god for problems that just tend to happen when your dealing with internet downloads. btw GOA & Mythic are not the same company so you can't really blame Mythic for GOA being shitty you can however write in non rant letters praying they push GOA's button to step up to the plate they've been shitty for years. |

Is WAR a good fit for a casual player?
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/10/08 11:45:06 AM
IMHO ... Yes...it may take you longer to get to Rank 40 and even longer to RR 80 but its achievable and in an hour you can actually get a good bit accomplished especially if you are in a guild and your in a warband for RvR activities. You'll find there's alot to do at all levels they made it so there's PvP / RvR right at lvl 1. Gear is relatively easy to achieve and dungeons are broken up and public so you can do them over a period of days. There's not a raid focus. Even if you miss the Initial Siege for a city you can stil participate in the Invasion / Destruction of the city since once the city has been taken over it remains in enemy control for Several Hours supposedly 12 to 24 hours. This allows everyone including casuals a fair chance at logging on at some point and being able to participate in end game. btw ignore fingis he's just pissed that in PW1 there was a bug that allowed Tier 1 playesr to buy Tier 2 Renown gear and he got owned a couple of times. |

Uh the kill collector quests that you don't have to actually take a quest from is in the game, infact the kill collector's are the ones that eventually tell you you've unlocked a Tome reward for killing X number of NPC's that they particularly hate and its not a Quest that goes in the Quest log. You also don't have to kill 10 bears to get 5 paws just 5 bears. You also get a special section just for quest items so it doesn't take up your bag. THe design is rather intelligent..the quests are kinda standard fair in design though.

Physics/Pathing/Combat Not up to par yet for me.
WAR Open Beta Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/10/08 11:13:38 AM
The unattackable bug is a server side bug that they've been working on...infact its about 2x better than it was 2 weeks ago. Hopefully the next patch that they're testing right now will see the end to it. Its where the client and the server aren't sync'd up just right. I've never had the cone problem or the clipping problem maybe thats the server your on is overflowing ... OB tends to glorify the strange things that can happen when the servers & clients aren't fully optimized. You say "examples" of combat but ....those games are all released..and I can tell you right now WoW's combat in OB & release had plenty of clipping and pathing issues they werent' game breaking but they were incredibly annoying. Not buying a game over some simple bugs ... is your choice but you make it sound like its a major issue which it isn't. The over all combat is just fine lag is going to happen in OB, HS, and Launch with EVERYOEN in the same couple of areas. Its the nature of the MMO beast. |

I've never had a problem killing ranged nuker classes...if they're dumb enough to stand somewhere unprotected they usually die pretty damn fast against any melee character. I've also never taken 200 points of damage from one at low level either...but then Resistances are quite nice to have besides standard gear stats. Then again...that caster probably had ahealer on them making them harder to kill even then though I've chased BW's and Sorceresses down and tore them both new asses ... *shrug* sounds like the OP was on a shitty team. |

Its not a cop out to tell people to STFU if they haven't played the game no one cares what those people have to say ... people want to hear creditable accounts of being in game for more than 5 to 10 mins. Going ew the graphics suck *cancel* is a cop out. Going the game rules it plays like TF2 is a cop out. Door swings both ways bud. WAR's a great game ... not everyone will like it...but thats the breaks isn't it? Everyone has a different idea of what they find fun and entertaining...Variety in life is key. Its kinda retarded to trash a game if you've never played it. IT'd be like me trashing Darkfall despite its not even in a playable beta yet. Honestly ... get a life he has a right to tell people to try it before trashing it. If a person isn't interested enough in the game to find a way to try it out for free then they should keep their trap shut with their opinions because no one cares.

WAR, WoW Plus LOTRO is what I was Hoping for
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/10/08 10:18:38 AM
*eats some popcorn while everyone continues to feed the troll* I've been watching you guys for nearly two weeks feed this guy ammunition he must be loving every moment of the attention so I suppose I can add to it. WAR has so much more going for it than the lame Carrot Stick Raids of WoW and the useless RP features of Lord of the Rings. Don't get me wrong LoTRO has alot going for it and its the perfect setting for some fantasy RP but this is WAR ... Warhammer ... set in a time of a Great War I mean honestly do we need to run around worrying about what our hair styles are like? Besides not even Lord of the Rings had alot of their great RP features at launch who's to say that WAR might not add something like that in later on? Asking for everything and a bag of chips results in alot of crap not workign at launch that needs to while the fluff works. WAR is an Achiever's dream game with the ToK. Not only does it track kills, deaths and discoveries but it unlocks a ton of stuff over time. You can earn unique cloaks, pocket items (trophy like items for pocket slots, yes those 'bag' slots on your toons paper doll screen are trophy slots *gasp*), trophies, tactics, and more. None of these items are achievable over night either. WAR's pvp system is fantastic...there's been such lame gank or worthless pvp in MMOs for years. There's plenty of CC in WAR its just not the I make you unable to play yoru toon forever CC which is completely over powered and hated by most pvpers. Who honestly finds it fun to stay stun locked and die? Sure the scenarios are nothing fancy at Tier one...but as you go up in levels they get more complicated and wild to boot. The Open RvR is the pure cake though...by Tier 2 you see your first keep and its incredibly important for you to have that keep as the Renown Vendors will only appear in the Keeps at Tier 2 and above. The list is kinda huge..there's achievements out the wazzu, public fantastically huge dungeons (i've seen one they're awsome as hell blows WoW's craptastic ones away in my opinion), the Renown System, the Guild System, the City System (lots of quests and wild things to do the city is very living!), the Sieging, the Scenarios, the PQ's, Lairs, hidden quests....oh the mass of things to do..I shall be very busy the rest of this year.

Lobo says , its just another MMO
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/10/08 9:53:26 AM
I think this is the first time in the history of the planet I've ever agreed with your sentiments Lobo...except for the TF2 comparison. I've never had so much fun PvPing or in an MMO since EQ1 (didn't pvp there either). WAR did something right .. it may not be overly innovative and super new but its a great fun game something alot of 'newer' clone & supposedly 'innovative' mmos have forgotten about. If a Game isn't fun...people won't play it for long. |

I believe they do this in the Open RvR areas as well. It doesn't affect your abilities and such but ti gives you enough life to atleast participate. You can level from lvl 1 in PvP :) You jus thave to deal with dying a tad more or atleast let the higher toons do the beatings for you and you rush in while the other player is distracted.
The renown gear is completely worth starting right away hehe its just good to PvE as well so you earn cash from multiple activities so you can train and take a harvesting skill. I harvest like a mad person to make enough money to do everything easily. |

I like a mixture of snot green and golden yellow for my Goblin and the fact its 2 tone colors that mix together and have different pattersn on the gear makes them look pretty crazy. |

Yea the Squig Herd is fun im pretty chaotic so having a crazy mad Goblin Squig Herder named Snixlplix was awosme. I tried a bevy of classes though so I have plenty of alts for the future hehe. The best Squig is the Battle Squig...I got a chance to toy with him a few weeks ago when we were given Tier 4 Template Characters. |
