Great game at lower levels. At higher levels sadly it is an insane money sink.

What MMO do you believe had the best potential but failed in execution?

Netmarble puts conventional pay-to-win combat items in item mall; still doesn't seem to realize that the game isn't just about combat

I guess I should have read this forum before I dled it on Steam. But it was free so did not cost me anything except maybe an hour of time. No I can go delete it. Sounds like a Perfect World game so I will pass.

You should read up a lot on the game and the content that will be added along with the episodic missions.

Sadly the whiners complained and was only a few of them about the way people could earn faster xp in the player made dungeons then in regular mission running and regular dungeons. So the minority of whiners started forum threads even though a majority of the posts in the threads were against the change Sony did it anyways.

They use to be a good way to earn xp and some marks for items from the DM store but a few months ago Sony nerfed the xp to oblivion so I quit running them.

Yeah sorry I had to say no since you said worse company in America. If you had worded it better such as worse gaming company then I would change my answer to yes.

[Preview] Defiance: Launch Day Impressions
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 4/02/13 10:49:43 PM
Well I played a bit in beta. Wanted to leave some stuff unseen. Yes it has some rough spots mainly with chat for me and the UI definately needs help... Hotkey to switch loadouts please. Music I do not care for as I usually have it turned down and my own playing so that is not an issue with me. I also agree if you are looking for massive character customization(hair, faces, etc) then you will not like your choices. Again fine with me. I enjoy the gameplay a lot. Got into a group immediately and into a mumble server with them so we rolled around clearing quests and arkfalls and had a lot of fun. Started a guild up and still pushing through.
Does it have bugs sure all MMOs do and I have been in beta and or release on most of them. I have not had any gamestopping/crashing bugs. Noticed mobs would disappear for a second sometimes and then reappear at arkfalls. Besides that been pretty smooth launch except for some high pings at the very begining. |
|
|
I am enjoying it so far. Running quests and doing arkfalls. Bout to get in on some of the pvp and shadow wars. Have not tried any of the coop missions but some of us are gonna give them a go today probably.
It is not a deep massive MMORPG like EQ. It is a MMOshooter with rpg elements which is fine with me. As for it being short well can't answer that. I guess it could be if you just burn thru the main story missions as fast as possible. It is also known it will have regular DLC. |

Yeah we are not level locked or doing progression. We do have some people who are still leveling characters though.

And Souldrainer lol I got to agree about UO on dial up. But it was still a great experience I started it earlier I think it was 97 maybe 98. Been too long. |

I am still enjoying it. But it really depends on what you are looking for. Its very quest driven. Many dungeons and zones to explore. At top end there is lots of raiding and even more dungeon grinding. I just introduced a couple more people to it for the 1st time and so far they are enjoying it but as I said everyone is different.

Watched Youtube vids, no sandbox, just fetch quests 90% of the time?
General Discussion « Defiance 3/21/13 10:43:46 AM
Originally posted by charlizd Yeah I do not remember them promoting it as a sandbox. Maybe the OP can post a link to where they did.
Even though I would love a new sandbox with the elements I enjoy does not look like that will be coming out anytime soon. |

Then check out INSTINCT. We are a casual guild looking for more always. We are working on filling our ranks to start raiding. We also have many lower levels still running through content. Our goal is grouping and playing together with no drama. 18 years or older, level 20+ and have vent or be able to download it. Voice communications are key for grouping and raiding.

Haven't heard them say that the crafted items will be the best in the game but even so RvR still for me. Now the question will be how mats are obtained for the crafting. I am hoping it will be like UO and you go out and gather and at any time chance to be jumped.

I guess crafting also depends on which gear is better. Most games the dropped/raided/earned gear is usually better.
