My old character had got moved... tho to an RP server so i jsut started again.. really does not take long to get to 80..

The fact that the game has voice over upto lvl 20 is awesome.. no mmorpg has done that before... for them to have done it for every quest would have been waaaay to expensive and we would never have seen the game released..

as a pve game its the best out there nothing comes close... pvp is good but there are better pvp games out there like Darkfall..

Now i msut say i have not played MO since the first month of launch because it was just full on awefull, probally the worst MMO i have played and a big waste of a lot of cash.

Most of the world was unfinished, exploring i would come to some parts that just had the same texture splatted on the ground for miles and miles and it even went right up the monutins in one area... your character at the start couldnt even jump over a small pebble... really bad interface, character graphics where really bad as well considering its using the unreal engine....Terrible lag the deadly rabbits and pigs would warp all over the place and kill you..

I have recently seen posts on here boasting how the server has actually been stable for 24 hours and that was only a few months ago... that really does not sound good to me...

But saying that things do change and devs release patches and so on.. soo maybe all the issues are gone adn its a good game now. I would say give the trial a go.. but comparing darkfall at release and mo at release darkfall was a much better game in nearly every aspect and i cant see that changing im afraid..

Tho give the trial a go for sure :)

I came back to the in the summer last year and its got so much better.. then with the exp pack they added even more.

IM not playing at the moment as i have gone back to darkfall for some real pvp but i see they have just released a graphics update for AOC and im so tempted to go back and check it out the vids and screenshots now look even more amazing then before :)

The game takes months and months of hard grinding to get competitive and most people don't make it. I'm sure people will argue otherwise on this forum, but that is the truth. Almost no new players remain in the game longer than a few months.

Well its so much better than it was not, archery can be maxed in a day or just donig that if you wanted, melee a bit longer..

I guess you could max out a spell school really fast as well, i know i did Earth Magic to 100 in 2 days jsut before they brought in the skill increase in magic so its actually 2 x faster now..

Also now with meditation its easy to get the stats up as long as you put 5k gold into meditation every night you will be ok :)

But yes it will take you a few months to get a character that is really good in group pvp.. dont expect to be able to take on a veteran in that time that would just be silly..

lol 200 players.. there are many many more players in this game at least on the EU server anyway...

And over the last few months more adn more people are coming to this game for the first time, and lots of verts coming back to the game..

There is active pvp every night, enough active in my guidl and alliance to do anything we want really :)

No idea where u got that 200 number from tho lol..

the only way perma death in an mmo would work is if maxing your character out only took liek half hour or somthing..

No one in their right mind would want to spend months developing a character only for him to die and them to start over again.. no fun in that..

well its a very old game now.. and hell its its not maknig them money then its totally the right move to shut it down... NCSOFT are a business and out to make money like any other.

The game is totally outdated now, even L2 is outdated...

There was lots of hate for space combat 2 seconds after they showed the first video.. and the hate has not stopped if they where going to chagne it they would have already..

I really dont understand how they thought that a MMORPG would gain anything from a single player rail line shooter.. but there we go..

Funcom will deliver all theri MMOs have been great... Sure the launch for both AO and AOC where not good at all but most MMOS dont launch very well...

I really enjoyed AO back in the day and Played AOC for most of last year and had a blast :) this game also looks to be shaping up to be realyl good :)

OH and one thing i wish they would get on and do is update the engine for AO, id go back to playing that no problem at all with a fully updated engine :)

 Meh, WoW reminded me of EQ designed for 4 year olds but hey, people bought it. I was not aware that AoC had a squad based combat system where every player levels up, equips, and controls several NPC minions.

I think he may have been on about the animations in the combat.. but no the combat is nothing like AOC.

I beta tested this game for a few weeks when the beta went live again after heatwave took over.. For waht it is the game does well and i do wish them luck. Im just not into these kind of games really, i stuck to conan for quite a bit as the combat system was somthing new and the pvp was good.. but i wanted more.. I am now back with Darkfall but thats just the style of game I like.. the Majority of the MMO players in this world like the themepark style of game its somthign they can just sit back relax and play with no issues..

Looks like they may have had a hardware failure on the US servers so they are running maint on both NA and EU servers..

Estimated time was 6 hours.

They posted the information on Facebook and I guess twitter as well.

At the end of the day the game is free to paly and the guy was just listing a few of the things he thought the game did right. He did not say the features where origional or anything like that..

Dont see how peopel can bash a game so much when its actually free to play..

I dont play wow so it dont bother me.

For a free game i think its great fun cant complain at all really..

OH yeah win 7 x64 here never had any issues during beta..

I am also going to cancel my sub.. After you mess around with the crafting and terrain system for a few hours you realise that there aint much else to do at the moment and that clicking the same button over and over and over and over and over to craft each item or do any task gets boring fast..

10 guys from my guild all pre-ordered and after beta and the mess of reelase none of them play.

Things have got really interesting in Darkfal.. big war on the EU server so I am spending most of my time in there and really time have the time to even try and log into Xsyon as the last time i looked it can take upto 30 mins..

Does this game have potential? yeah sure it does but the dev team is so small i cant see it working out.. but ill keep checking back every so often u never know it might get good..

The combat in Darkfall is great fun, one of the best things about the game and what makes me coem back to it every time.

Sure meele is not the mosts details, you have two types of standard hit, left/right swing and overhead swing(usually used in pve so you dont hit your mates) then there are abotu 5 special attacks, one that knocks a target away from you, one that pulls closer to you, whirlwind attack and a stab attack that courses bleed damage and also one that stps people blocking for a bit.. then there is parry and side stepping.. yes maybe watching vids it seems like people running around liek headless chickens but it does not seem like that when your actually doing the fighting.. I really enjoy melee in darkfall :)

Tons of magic schools with loads of spells to play with.. too much to go into here really

Archery is another nice thing about the game like someone mentioned before..

There is a lot to darkfall combat and ltos of skill involved..

Give the trial a go and then at least you will know for yourself if you like it or not :)
