Left click is your main attack, you can move out of the way of attacks.. Right click is dodge for melee classes or at least one slayer class as thats the only one i played. You then have a skill bar with special skills that you press a number to activate, you also have to aim these skills.

Now DC combat does not feel quite as good as the combat in Tera, plus in DC you erally need to lock on your target to hit properally, this is not the case with tera..

They seem fine as a company and im sure they dont want to mess up their first AAA title release.

Its better that they have issues early in the beta tests so they can fix them before release.

Please remember beta testing is for finding bugs and helping the company to release a game that works, its not there for you to have a weekend of free entertainment. Be thankfull this happened now and not at release.

IF you cant get your head around beta tests having issues then i would say dont bother with beta testing.

Try Mortal Online im sure not many kids will be playing that game..

Lots of big free gaems out there.

EQ2

Age of Conan

DC online

Fallen Earth

just to name a few, try them out yourself and decide if they are good.

Nothing will kill minecraft because you can mod the hell out of it..

Also reading the blog page the crafting side of things seems very basic as well as the house building being limited to certain designs.. People loved the freedom that you had in minecraft it was one of the main pulling points.. without this freedom to do waht you like then you basically have a game made of squares, i think id much rarther play Skyrim..

Not sure if this has made it on here yet. Basically this guy asked his guild mates in SWTOR if anyone wanted to swap some credits for WoW gold.

He was permanently banned

Just thought it was an interesting find.

well thats basicalyl gold trading so maybe games should take a hard stance on gold trading.

Totally agree with the article.. a Beta test is just that a test. Its there to find as many bugs as possible before they game is released. Also then towards then end of beta testing you usually get at on of people invited for the test to make sure the servers can handle the load..

Over the last year I have tested qutie a few games and usually straight away you get people demanding compensation because they cant play..

For example the recent Tera EU sneak peak had issues from the start. basically straight away you had someone demanding to be compensated..

I dont know why he thought he had the right to anythign but there we go..

as others have said graphics card for sure..

USualyl any dodgy artifacts like that popping up on screen is a graphics card issue..

My old 8800gts started with little screen squares popping up on the screen then eventually locked up similar to yours.

I am more interested in the greater scope of things. I mean the combat is nice and all but it wont keep me subbed. However a deep political PvP system will so I am more interested if it will deliver there rather than GFX and FPS type combat.

Political system is not tied to pvp from what i know, unless they have changed things for this release.

The game is your standard themepark with a nice combat system added on, dont go into this expecting somthing totally different from your average MMORPG.

A lot of the NPCs are static as well but there are also some moving around but not many..

So how is the PvP then if it is not tied to the political system?

The EA/NA will have PVP server with open world pvp as well as battlegrounds and PVE servers with battlegrounds and duals.

The open world pvp servers will literally be FFA pvp and not tied into anything.

Looking into what litle details i could find the political system does look like it had a link with pvp

There is a tie in with the political system but only through the battleground system, basically if you and your clan get to the top of the leaderboard you can become a political leader.

http://massively.joystiq.com/2011/06/08/e3-2011-en-masse-interview-delves-into-teras-political-system/

A lot of the PVP system is changing from the Korean version so i guess we will just have to wait and see.

There is very little PVP in K Tera, infact i think you have to pay in game gold to PVP or somthing.

EU/NA have said they will rework the pvp system but the game was not designed around pvp so expect it to be basic..

This is not a pvp orientated game

With TOR out and some of the biggest MMO launches on the horizon, what are some of the features that you find attrictive about this game, and make it stand out from the crowds?

I just love the style and setting for the game think its different from any other MMO in that aspect. Hopefully it will bring a breath of fresh air to the themepark MMORPGs

I have also really enjoyed Fnucoms other MMORPGs.

Well i hate the game i think its a total waste of the Star Wars IP and without the IP the game would be nothing.. I have no idea how they spent so much developing this game lol

Think the download is just over 30gb..wil have to double check when i get home later..

Anyway been playing on the K server for a few days now..

OK the combat is obviously the main thing that sets this game apart from other Themepark MMOS, you can keep moving around and dodging attacks while trying to hit and so on, so very much like an action game but then on top of that you have the standard set of MMO skills that you place on your action bar, so it adds a bit mroe to the combat. I dont think the combat is quite as good as the other korean MMO on its way Blade and Soul I think i like that system better but the rest of blade and soul is not quite as good as tera,,

Other than that it seems to be your average Sandbox game, zones are set out ni a similar fashion to WoW so its not truly an open world game tho its big enough to feel like it is sometimes but there are restrictions to where you can go. Quests are your average progrssion quests go here kill that yadda yadda, but saying that it works fine as does the rest of the game its jsut as polished as any other aaa title out there.

I have not looked into the crafting or political system as i dont speak a word of korean and would not be able to figure it out haha.

The game does have some bad points thats for sure..

1. Its very asian, i have never been a fan of weapons being 3 times the size of your character i just think it looks silly.

2. Silly kid race for the dodgy adults to play with and an ultra stupid hampster race..

3. The lancer class as i said in another thread this class is just stupid, using a weapon that was designed to be used on horse back to try and poke people with in ground melee combat is just plain bad. Why not give the guy a spear.. this is the most annoying bit of the game for me

Anyway Tera will not be for everyone im sure but i think it will have a solid server population for a long time.

How is any of this false advertising?  Do you know what false advertising is?  At any rate, your question has been answered via their twitter and forums

Finally forum is not on maintance anymore and found the "answer" which is not an answer at all.

Here is what it says: We're working with our retail partners to get the physical #TERA collector's edition added to their systems.
Really? How you say go order it from the stores and now you tell me you still working on it? Went miles away to check damn it.

EnMasse looks like a new company that has a lot to learn cause this don't look professional to me at all.

Its not their fault the retailers are lazy arses and not updated their systems.

I would have thought EnMasse told all the partner retailers when the pre-order should be available and the price well ni advance, but they have no real control over what the retailers do..

The Asian art style of this game is the only reason why I will never try it out.

It is a lot easier to get use to an art style than most people think. 2 days of playing and you wouldn´t even think of it.

Ask the people who still play TOR, many of them whined about the art before launch.

I agree with this guy, i usually hate the asian style i mean weapons 3 times as big as your character and crap like that is just stupid.. Anyway after playing this for a few days i got used to it..

Tho I wont play the stupid kid race or the stpid hampster race.. also i wont play as a lancer because that is just a stupid idea using a weapon designed to me used on a horse as a ground based weapon.. this really really annoys me LOL, why not make the guy use a spear instead grrr..

Anyway its not a bad came combat is pretty cool :) rest of the game is your average themepark ride but it works really well and looks stunning.

There we go m8 just did it...

I think it is too extreme of a risk to make it very fun.

If I were going to PvP with those conditions, I would probably only use good armor while zerging to reduce the risk. The rest of the time I would use the weaker but easy to make armor while going around solo or in smaller groups, just so I don't actually lose anything important. If I don't lose anything important, my enemies won't get any satisfaction from the gear I drop. If my enemies don't get any satisfaction from looting me, what is the point of this feature?

Nah the risk is all part of the fun and what makes Full Loot games so good :)

For me full loot is the only way to go for an MMORPG.

I have said in another thread it just brings somthing else to the game that you cant get any other way. Its kinda like a drug i cant get enough of it, just the trill of knowing i can loost all my hard earned gear and loot.. awesome..

the game does have to be designed for it tho, you couldnt just plonk a full loot system into wow because it takes people years to get al lthe gear they have at end game..

Also I understand how some people cant handle the idea of loosing everything.

Full loot PVP games are not for everyone and never will be tis that simple. Same as themepark games will not be for everyone.

The industry needs to realise there is a market out there for both tho..

if you have login issues it should come up with a small error at the top of the scrren saying whats wrong..
