This has been burning in my head ALL DAY. I remember some game was supposed to be a trilogy with the third game being a MMO but for whatever reason the trilogy was never done. I can't for the life of me figure it out, but I know for fact there was a game series that was going to do this, but never did. |

You can't play the new neriak city with the trial. Once you register you will be able to keep your characters, characters from the trial will be transferred.
If it makes any difference, moving a freeport character to neriak is quite easy once you own the game, you just have to do a couple of solo quests. |

Hmm, I play EQ2 quite a bit and dont get that feeling. Its certainly bigger and more wide open than EQ1, I can tell you that much. The last expansion, echoes of faydwer and the new one thats due to come out both have gigantic zones. They talk about in Kunark having completely different areas, but you go between them without having to zone/load. Imagine if several kunark zones in EQ1 were one big zone basically. some of the original EQ2 dungeons area bit small, but besides that its quite wide open. only places I can think of that might be cluttered are the high end outdoor zones that came with the orginal game called lavastorm and everfrost, they are both quite big but the land is split up paths between mountains or rivers of lava.
From the people you talked to, they have any examples of what they think a "cluttered" zone is?
You can try the game out for 7 days here http://everquest2.station.sony.com/en/promotions/playthefae/ Thats basically playing the latest expansion |

This site hasn't updated in about 1 year, not even sure why its still up.
Would like to find another way to track this stuff though. I keep running into people who supposedly get charts of these things but they refuse to give it up, but when I ask them the info is about the same and their nothing like mmogchart.com. |

So is Vanguard turning out like DnL? Or Pre-NGE, Pre-CU, Pre-pub3 SWG?

I have played VG a good amount and got my guy to 25. It was great up until now, seems like the amount of content, quests had a serious drop off. Unless I go back to places I did before 25, everything looks so barren.

Considering PvP was added AFTER SoE got a hold of VG, I think saying it was made carebaer because of SoE is just plain ignorant.
I'm still PO'd they haven't put Fellowships in. This would solve so many friggin problems its not even funny. but instead they are shooting themselves in the foot by adding teleportation, and working on useless shit like helmets showing up. He is indeed a one hit wonder. And to be clear, I have yet to see ONE thing that denote this game as 3rd generation. The only thing I can think of is graphics, and they have already voiced regrets about the programming resources they have used for the game that limits the flexibility of the graphics. |

NCSOFT to buy SOE in the near future

Haha SoE is hardly "just" a division. They are key in helping Sony run the online services to do with video games. If SoE was gone, Sony would have to come up with an entirely new setup for everything online-video game related.
Their also providing 3 MMOG's for the PS3, so their not going anywhere soon. Frankly at this point, people need to start getting used to not liking MMOG companies. Big companies = hated. |
