I really like this game!

However i am not a fan of the Sub + Cash shop combo ...but the cash shop is all about "bling" ...so if the OP could not afford that nice skirt he was looking at then ...dont complain ... I cant afford to by a Mustange 2012  model ..... you dont see me ripping off Ford.

But for the first time in my live i bought from a cash shop in a game that charges a sub.... Just because i liked the hunters coat... and that was pure vanity... 

So OP ... you rant is thinner than a chiken's leg which was starved for a year !

I am not going back untill its free to play ..even then ..it is just to Theme Park for me and not enough MMO... in SWTOR.

When STO did that i kicked it to the curb... Greed ..thats all ...if you make a good open world MMO game your subs will be enough.

Because If this is the case then CCP will have to lose a crap load of players to satisfy your fantasy. The OP is right and its not because i have been playing the game from 2003. I dont like Goons ... never have. But the OP is on the CSM and we did elect him so he does represent the players in this regard.

And if you did not vote then dont complain about it not being so... to thoughs that have not! Because many have been to lazy to make there voices heard in CMS voteing ... but would complain about the condidates.

Thats not it... I like the idea but not at the expence of the core gameplay. I think its important to develop this idea but not try and skin the players with the NEX $70 a pop store. They give me the feeling that i am being SHROOD HARD ... I mean $70 for an item.

TLDR; 2.4% increase in 30months. That is awful. C'mon, this isn't WoW where you can lose 1M here and there and still have 9M+ subs. This is a game that has 300-400k subs max.

TLDR; No new content over the past 2 years for FLYING IN SPACE.

 

The problem in a nutshell, in one sentence came out in the 2011 EVE Fanfest.

Eve is Bleeding subs ..

There is no dout about it. I dont think players have been satisfied with the direction of the game. And all that talk at the CSM summit was just that.... just to have the CSM go into hibernation mode..... is just a joke.

The day has come for me or my 3 accounts which are on 6 month subscipion cycles to be renewed.... and i say.....HELL NO..! Its been 3 months now ... nothing has happened to make me feel any better about 0.0 or the direction of the game. So i will do what HILMAAAR said we should do ... and not say we will do...

3 more long term subs gone ... Mr CCP.. !

I don't even think its 50K subs! ... You keep seeing people complaining about population on there forums. Some players cannot even finish grouped missions because they can't make up 5 players! same with the PVP ... its just is not happening.

They have had more interviews in the last month with different sites than they have episodes in the entire game! ..and on that point it feel like they trying to bail water out of the sinking ship, while pretending they enjoying the feeling!

Thats SAD!

I enjoyed the Article ... it gives Cryptic a heads up as to what STO should have been able to achieve.

Remember everyone, if you want future SciFi games to be good... and not Trash like Cryptic put out. Then you need to hold them to a high standard and what better standard than EvE-Online.

Well I though I would pop in again to see how this game has Grown.. :-( .. Well I think shrink is the word to use now. I see all the Captains have abandoned ship ...Zink .>Roper .. And I see they are really spiting fire from there marketing engine.

Also I read the last review on MMORPG ... you cannot be be serious ..7. What! Some other site also had a re-Review ..I mean gosh its only what 8 months old!

I see there Forums have toned down but that to be expected if you don't have subscribes any longer!

Shame ... real dead duck this one. Someone should just shoot it! Its a shame to let a IP suffer like this! Then they also got NWN... what's this world coming too!

The rating MMORPG has given STO sounds about right.  It should be higher--that is, Star Trek Online SHOULD be rated higher, but the game itself does not deserve it.  Maybe it will, eventually...but I'm not holding my breath.  STO had vast potential, and I hope that someday, they'll figure out how to unlock it.  In the meantime, I'll be ventilating goblins & orcs over at LOTRO while waiting for SW:TOR to go live.  For the Republic!

I tottaly agree with you m8t ....

They did the damage to this IP already... it will take alot to get me to go back. But untill then LOTR & EvE online is what i will be playing ... and then SWTOR ..when it comes out .. And maybe Black Prophercy!

But STO .... nope ..there are just much better games out there for my $15 ... than this one!

PS: ...and i Love Star Trek...!
