Lord of the Rings deserves it even though I would much rather play DDO lol

I am sure a lot of people already said this but i will add to thread just to show you how important this step is.....find a good corporation with people you like and EVE gets waaaaaaaay better.

If any game makes mining fun they deserve most innovative game of the decade. But yeah i quickly learned that perpetuum was not for me. at first i was all "omfgwafflesaucebbq!!!! EVE with wasd!! Excel spreadsheets on land!!" but i quickly got bored due to the lack of variety EVE has.

While at first glance I was all "wow great job funcom rotgs is a great expansion"....after a few hours in the new zone i quickly found it an absolute souless grindfest and unsubscribed. 

Turbine, CCP and Arena net are my 3 favorite MMO companies hands down. 

I played DDO for a while about 6 months ago and i had a great time. I think the key it to get into a good guild and just dungeon crawl with them. And avoid the groups with names like "LEET ONLY ULTRA FAST RUNS!!!!!"

What an annoying condescending article. I swear this site is getting worse and worse in terms of writing. They say they will have content every month and maybe they will but i'm not going to shell out 50 bucks and 15 a month to SEE if this is true knowing the track record of promises in countless MMO's that have been broken. Secondly, the comment about everyone saying that crafting is the only reason this game should scratch its 15 a month is groundless and juvenile.

I agree this game should have the guild wars model of buy to play and pay for expansions. I wont be playing it on release as I will wait for the inevidable change in pricing once 6 months roles around. Plus i am always cautious about spending my time in an SOE game so I will wait to see what they do with this game.

hands down EVE is the most innovative MMO on the market. The really sad thing is it has been that way for 7 years.....sigh.

STO - best crafting and best pvp of 2010 is a joke and demonstrates that the poll was poorly implemented. 

I voted for perpetuum as its launch was smooth and its spreadsheets with robots which is awesome. However, deep down i knew that none of the above deserved the award.

I have never played a game at launch. But from all the rage I have read on this site about Vangaurd I am surprised it didn't make the cut.  And for two months I swear half of the forum threads here were raging at the darkfall launch. And then there is FF14, EVE, UO, EQ, MO.....lol just make a top 20 worst launches and get them all on there

There is no MMO coming out in 2011 that i am excited for other then GW2. It is the only MMO that looks like it will be a step up from other MMO's on the market today. 

I love when MMO's are difficult even if they are hard to find. GW, TCOS and early FE felt challenging to me.....it might just be i suck but i liked those games due to the challenge.

I have had both my NCsoft and Blizzard accounts hacked in the last 6 months. I had both suspended indefinently and i wouldn't  have it any other way.

Great article. I do 100% agree that a lot of the tedium in MMO's should be removed. I am a big fan of pets doing menial tasks like gathering resources, easy teleporting to different areas, fast movement, respecs, easy to use and quick lfg function etc.

However, I am a huge fan of overly complicated skills systems, customization and combat. I am not saying stream-lining this stuff is bad necessarly but the games that interest me are the games that seem daunting to learn. I see no problem with wanting a game to be more like calculus then gym class. 

Take EVE online and D&D and smash them together with a bioware story line and the polish of WoW. And make it in an apocalyptic/horror setting with zombies....lots of zombie.

I have to admit i have always loved the idea of companion pets doing menial tasks for you in MMO's, I have alway been suprised on how few MMO's integrate this into the game. I hope it works great in Star Wars and it becomes a trend in MMO's i'm actually interested in.

EVE - and I think I will be voting EVE for years. Hands down best MMO ever created IMO

D&D FTW. This is the only category where i have tried all the games listed. And to me the only game that has provided me great bang for my buck in D&D. For 50 bucks i bought all the content in the game up to a couple months ago. Now i can just casually log in when ever i want and play the whole game without worry of sub fees. And the game is damz fun
