Wow it's amazing how fast they are putting new items in the station cash shop but what's even more amazing is how old bugs still languish on after 5 years.....fail

Stay away from this game and let it finally die off.....
General Discussion « Vanguard: Saga of Heroes 8/23/12 7:26:14 PM
Seriously don't even think about spending cash on this game it's still very broken... with the market they broke crafting. Social server keeps going down, still falling through the world, cant trade, etc etc....
just leave it alone guys and maybe finally this horror will go away....this is Sony's truly last chance to try to ressurect this monstrosity....too bad they did it during the month when GW2 will be released (idiots). |

F2P not very attractive for ex-players..

I dont' know what they were thinking or they didn't realize that ANET was going to release Guild Wars 2 in August thats like David and GOliath....okay most people probably can afford a pay and a not pay mmo but which MMO are most players going to play come August 25th....yah I thought so. |

I for one am glad GW2 has no raiding and like I said in a post on here couple weeks ago...if GW2 isn't for everyone and if it isn't then DON't get it, it just isn't for you...and probably never will be.

Originally posted by Starpower This Just move on attitude is why Vanguard has languished for so long as a subpar MMO who barely retains any players and the long time veterans who keep paying these 15 per month sub fees but like you say "enjoy your continuing low pop" I logged on yesterday and it's still very unpopulated last I heard on Telon the count was close to 1000 players sure didn't feel like it while I was online and I was teleporting all over the place. This is truly Vanguard's last hurrah we are probably witnessing here the end of Vanguard SOE needs to change their pricing model a bit to attract more players. What's going to happen when F2P players refuse to do dungeons because the loot wont be accessible to them? F2P players are in the game to spend little cash and populate the servers SOE thats basic F2P protocol ....who the hell is making the calls overthere???????????????? |

[Interview] Vanguard: Saga of Heroes: Free to Play Round Table Discussion
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 8/15/12 8:08:20 AM
yes I know SOE needs to make money and its a business I have no problem with that.... raise some the restrictions and I'll jump in and buy a mount for 10 dollars or so....even a bank slot. But restricting "high end items?" Okay so you can level all the way to 55 and your in a dungeon and you can't loot a goldl? Like I said F2P players will not keep Vanguard alive..it's the subscribers that will keep it alive but there aren't enough of them that's where the F2P players come in what keeps VETS away from the game is the low population.....I was in Leth Nurae last nite for 2 hours I only saw 1 other player and this is A MAJOR city in the game....Leth Nurae in peak times in it's first year was busy with crafters and players all over the place....this is on the first F2P day.... What this tells me is that old players are still staying away from the game atleast most of them, yes I know some came back because I was chatting with them last nite and we were all discussing the F2P plan and all we see is GREED because SOE has no confidence that Vanguard has what it takes to bring in players....it does. If Guild Wars 1 can afford to keep servers open for 6 years for FREE with thousands of players still playing it, you can log in to Guild Wars 1 right now and find thousands of players in there right now WHY because Guild Wars 1 is a GREAT game with GREAT support. Vanguard has been neglected for years and now they just want to FLIP the switch and watch the magic happen??? doesn't work that way. Vanguard is dear and very memorable to some of us players that were there day 1 and helped SIgil with Bugs and what not, but in the two years I played it they ignored some of the biggest problems and some are still there. I see this as Vanguard's last breathe and honestly I don't think it's gonna make it....competition is tough this summer..
GW2-Completely Free2Play after box purchase. SWTOR- Free2Play Secret World Planetside Sony is fighting an uphill battle...this is a very stubborn company with a track record of doing things 100% there way and not listening to their audience and it's gonna cost them.....servers will get congested and support tickets will ramp up and subscribers will rise then fall like always....I wish Vanguard the best but if you read here and on other forums people are just not happy with the F2P model ony the hardcore players I wish them luck really but I am moving on to better games....to new players let me give you some advice....don't waste your itme. |

I forgot to mention the high end item restrictions....yes you can now level to 55 as a F2P but you won't be able to claim the high end loot as a F2P player again a slap to the face.

SOE's last ditch effort to ressurect this montrosity from the grave fails to bring in VETS from hibernation....I'll tell you why. #1 First 2 Plat on coin....really 2 plat? I can sell precious metals and make easily 10PLALT in one day if I wanted too. #2 25 bank slots? #3 restricting classes and races for F2P players....
SOE fails to realize that the F2P players are in Vanguard as a commodity to support to other hardcore players....to POPULATE the servers. Instead their restrictive pricing plans are keeping us away. There is a reason why we don't want to pay 15.00 a month anymore IT"S JUST NOT WORTH IT. But, spending some cash on a mount, XP potions, cosmetics, and some armor might be alright but if you look at their pricing plans it's way too aggressive and all VET players and some new players see is GREED....a Pay2WIIN system will not work SOE....EVER. |

WAR got old because their END GAME sucks. GW2 endgamem doesn't center on one event like WAR their is a multitude fo things too do. GW1's highest level was 20 and even at 20 there were lots of things too do. GW2 has 80 levels that alone should tell you that GW2 has enough content to keep players happy for a long time to come. |

Originally posted by tixylix WAR HAS AMAZING character design???? what.....are you kidding me... The lackluster order characters is one reason for the huge imbalance when the game first launched... Yes the chaos side looked nice too good, players flocked to chaos side because of the looks of their characters, but order was owning after everyone figured it out too late by then....I can't believe you guys are still discussing this game really...go play GW2 when it comes out. Everything WAR should of been GW2 is. |

I don't think Bioware has the now how to keep a F2P game alive. They barely knew how to keep the pay model alive all they know was that EA wanted to make money and off they go.....
F2P sorry SWTOR but my hard drive has GW2 waiting for AUG 25th and on...goodbye |

#1 Guild Wars sold out on digital sales prompting them to suspend temporarily the sale of DS #2 Pre-orders of Guild Wars have surpassed 1 mil passing Aion for pre orders and we still have one month to go.
#3 Anet predicts Guild Wars 2 will sell 3.1 Mil by August 2012
#4 (and probably the main reason why Guild Wars 2 doesn't need you)
Guild Wars 1 sold 6.5 mil copies as of 2010 therefore the fanbase for GW is already healthy and thriving and most will carry over to GW2.
On all three forums here, GuildWarsguru, and Guild Wars 2 official forums there seems to be alot of whining about certain things that can't seem to entice certain players go play GW2. Mainly it's elitists that don't like the downed state because boohoo they didn't get the kill because they survived and got rezzed by a zerg or wow and SWTOR players that just cant stomach the fact that GW2 has no raiding. To tell you the truth a GW1 player will tell you that they probably don't want you around anyways and that maybe you should just stick to your other MMO. It seems too me that the only people that are on the fence about this game are the ones who did not like GW1 or did not play GW1 and are just not sold on GW2 so my advice to you is dont buy it..it's not for you.
