I couldn't vote in your poll. You didn't have a NONE option. You have a keep your current console and buy none, but the last console I even played on was Intellivision.....lol......

Consoles are for kids, I haven't been one for 30+ years.....

Great graphics and games are all they do, and I'm not about to spend as much on a console as I would on a computer that does way more, since I am a hobby gamer, in my spare time, not a live by the game person any more. When I was, the consoles we had sucked.... lol....... oh, I think I did own an Atari for awhile.....::::06::

People have been making maps for fps games for years, hell, many of the player made maps for Unreal Tournament, Tribes and others were far better than ones included with the games. It's about time we get that option for mmorpg's. Downloading an area, or zone once will be okay. And if you put em on different servers for the download so it doesn't impact the game servers is even better. But if you get into too much player customization, such as clothes, emblems/logos, gadgets, furniture and the like, bandwidth and lag will have to be addressed.

umm... consoles are for game playing only......... let me know when you can read/compose email, make a spreadsheet, create or edit a website, update your resume, finish your homework at the same time even, etc etc on your console.....

If you just want to play games, then console is for you my friend. Gaming for me is a hobby.

Well.... console gaming is just an entirely different world....... it's kinda like korean games and the U.S. Koreans eat up all those games in HUUUUUUGGGGEEEEE quantities, that we in the U.S. look at, and go 'huh? why bother'.

Console gamers are twitch, reflex, platformy. Multi-player still hasn't been integrated well. I mean, 4 little separate screens?? Admittedly I haven't seen any of the latest, like the 360 or the ps3, but in my case, why bother? I don't play those type of games anymore, for years. They are great for their graphics and 1 or 2 player games, but let's leave mmorpg's to the pc's.

And I haven't even touched on the age difference of those consol'ing vs those pc'ing. You think it's bad in some games like wow or gw with the immature crap going on in there now, can you imagine how it would be with the console kids jumpin in???? EGADS! Just the thought of it is giving me the constant willies.... although they would ever mix the 2 platforms on the same servers (oh gawd in heaven PUHLEEESE don't even consider this idea), it would be a horrendous thing to see.... only of interest if your the type that likes to watch accidents in slow motion.....

The only thing you 'bounty hunt' is jedi. And you can use either skill sets. You can shoot im with your guns, which you'll probably need to do against the jedi, since their light sabres are probably more than a match for swords, depending on skill levels, or level levels now.... hell who knows since they borked it up so bad....

A clue?? He probably couldn't buy a clue! We should all realize by now, the majority of kids don't have the inclination or the attention span, and a lot of times no ability to 'read' anything, the manual, the website, the forums, their schoolbooks, etc. Society has become an instant gratification, I want it all now, herd of monkeys. Gimmie velcro so I don't have to tie my shoes! Too lazy to tell time, gimmie digital watches! If ya can't plug it in and play, they can't use it! Ever see someone try to make change when the cash register goes out and they actually have to try and use a little math?? Ya ever buy something for $10.18, give em a $20 and a quarter, and see the clouds form over therir eyes and brain, and they give you the quarter back because you gave em too much??

Umm... the sugar rush has worn off.... but I think you get the idea.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.....

I've seen a couple posts that mention the streaming technology as a barrier to hacks. What would happen if someone found a way to divert or jack into that stream?? Imagine the havoc that could be wrought........

I'm sure Anet is aware of such possibilities...... and I do play AND enjoy the game, so I certainly am not advocating anything like that..... just another point to bring to the discussion.....

{/me rushes to jack into The Matrix, dons his bestest Neo-Wannabe garb, switches abilities to full out Hacker skillz, and goes in search of the closest Access Node to the GW servers he can find that he can get to without being jumped and smushed by some angry RED Gang.} ::::38::

Seriously........ it seems that you've already decided to buy the game, it's just a matter of when. Undoubtedly, the price will come down $10 in 3-4 months...... so the real questions are, can you sit on your hands that long until you get it, and is saving that $10 bucks worth the dents in your butt from sitting on your hands so long?? ::::06::

Anarchy Online - you can play for a year, no paying involved unless you want an expansion pack.

Shot Online - Free Open Beta, if you like online golf simulator.

Just my 2 cents/sense/scents.........::::31::

Just a few notes about this article:

2) I cannot deny that I have a lot of fun grouping in SWG now, and still do. I would recommend the grouping experience in SWG to anyone.

5) I am still able to solo fine with acceptable experience. My only gripe has been down time. I am a Master Bounty Hunter and Master Squad Leader, and one of my profession is geared entirely towards grouping and I am still able to solo.

I quit SWG before the CU, because I was an entertainer who was trying to become a jedi, and it was too hard to make any spending loot cuz of the buff bots, and the insane grind to become a jedi was boring as hell.

Your 2 comments I quoted above point out one of the new big flaws. If you have a combat character (and you can't get much more combat oriented than your BH/SL), you can enjoy grouping and the combat. If your ANYTHING else, (jedi, entertainer, crafter, scout, doc, etc), you might as well sit in a cantina and drink all day. They took one part of the game, (combat), and made it the ENTIRE game.

SWG has always been far too extreme in it's 'patches/nerfs/upgrades/downgrades'. Remember in the beginning there were far more rebels than imperials, so they gave the imperials much cooler stuff and perks. Then you got tons more imperials than rebels. Then we had the 'holo grinders' take over the game who were just flyin thru as many professions as fast as they could because of the mysterious way to become a jedi, basically a random hit and miss profession grabbin fest. They saw how this was ruining the experience, so they made it an insanely atrocious grind to even try to become a jedi. Now we still have too many jedi, so nerf the hell out of em, super size the bounty hunters and make it easier to find the wimpy baby jedis, yeah... that's the ticket.

Everyone looked forward to the coming combat upgrade, and if it only affected those who wanted to do combat, it might have been a good thing. But to make the entire game combat or nothing, well, you see what is happening.

And just what were they smoking when they thought it would be a great idea to remove most of the animations, have just a few cookie cutter movements for everyone?? And the fantasy icons? Horses? Swords? And the tkm's who can do more damage with a gun they aren't certified to use than they can unarmed, which is what they are designed to do?

Bottom line, to continue to 'enjoy' SWG, make a brand new character, better be sure it's a bounty hunter/squad leader, and hunt jedi. You could probably become rich hiring yourself as a bodyguard to poor crafters who can't travel alone anymore. Spend hours following a guy around and try to keep him alive while he gathers his resources. I'm glad I got out long ago, sorry they borked up the game so bad. Let's hope the good folks at Turbine love the product they have in LOTR, and DON'T MAKE THESE MISTAKES!
