Hahaha...morons. This kind of stuff shouldn't happen in a AAA MMO and was one of the reasons I cancelled my sub after the 1st month: Bad game engine...bad game design...BAD GAME.

I have hated raiding from the very 1st time I tried it. I hate the elitism of raiders thinking they're hot shit because they can memorize boss moves. Spending 5 hours doing the same thing over and over again for gear and loot is just plain BORING.

PVP is much more challenging and unpredictable - you can't memorize what your opponent will do next and you have to make split second decisions or your dead. Crafting and other mini games like the Beastmaster system in SWG were challenging and did not require that you kiss a GM's ass so you can get your "spot".

Honestly, I'm enjoying SWTOR to the fullest. I have a community that keeps things fresh and interesting every step of the way. I have noticed a lot of the people who complain that they are leaving the game either did not belong to part of a competent group/community able to run things beyond the basics or they think everything should be spoon fed to them and not have to earn up to anything.

SWTOR has its rough edges there is no doubt on that; however, I do feel that 1.2 will have some of the stuff that players are craving. Legacy system, yes this has been beaten into the ground by every website out there but everyone needs to remember that this is just a small thing of what is yet to come. World of Warcraft, Rift, Asheron's Call, Everquest and every other great game didn't get developed over night and everyone fell in love with them eventually down the road. (Actually Asheron's Call and Everquest being in the pre-golden era of MMO's where fantastic games with lost of stuff to do pretty early on.)

So every troll that sees SWTOR in the tag somewhere and feels the need to just come around and try to talk crap on it. Go ahead, the numbers you see do not lie the game has lost population and subscription. You however are not missed and I hope you enjoy sitting around not playing a game while waiting on "the next bg game" (thats going to flop just as hard with all these demands the gamer populations put on developers now days).

Sorry - there's NOTHING being added to SWTOR now that does anything to improve a piss-poor excuse for an MMO. It took them HOW MANY MONTHS to come up with this crap? The only way SWTOR will ever get better is if EA/Bioware sells it to someone who knows what they're doing.

The only players that Ive noticed that enjoy SWTOR are total whackjobs for all things Star Wars related, the same type of people who put out death threats to Lucasarts for adding in Jar-Jar Binks.

Why...because you don't like it? That is the most absurd thing that I have read on MMORPG.com to date. It's people like you that are keeping me uninterested in GW2. The community in that game will make WoW's community look golden.

Every time a GW2 fanatic comes in here trashing this game it reminds me of why I used to never get into MMOs and makes me even more happy that TOR is keeping players like that away.

I agree. I don't know why the hate though. ToR is far from being a bad game. People are still playing Warhammer, Runescape, Guild Wars, STO, Alganon and some other horrible games for goodness sake.

TOR is also far away from being a GOOD game also and just because some people still play bad games doesn't excuse them from being bad.

What games did EA ruin?

Do we really need to name them all? You can start with Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3 and then we can start listing off all the failed MMO's they started and killed in record time. Earth and Beyond, The Sims Online, Motor City Online, ect.

Don't forget SWTOR

Currently, I have seen all the information that has been offered on the winternet pertaining to beta.

Not a single thing seems even remotely interesting atm. I am banking on the fact that Anet is holding back some information or footage that will be revealed closer to launch to actually make me want to buy this game.

As of now however, I have no will to buy it whatsoever.

I know there are a lot of fanboys of this game who are already going crazy about it and calling it the best thing since slice bread. Am I really the only one that is a bit skeptical still?

After SWTOR - I will NEVER pre-order another MMO until months after launch.

@OP: Finished - uh..no. Until a game comes along that workks as smoothly and offers as much to do as Wow - it'll be around.

The only game I'm interested in atm is Archeage and that's not even a sure thing yet because of lack of NA distribution. I played SWTOR for a month and realized after low FPS and boring game play that there was no way it was going to challenge Wow for dominance.

I came back to Wow partially because there's nothing out right this moment and my wife wanted to give me a Scroll Of Resurrection so she could get all the goodies. The 1st thing I noticed when I signed back in is that I was getting ay least a steady 60 FPS in Orgrimmar - smooth as silk. The second thing I noticed is while PVPing in Tol Barad with 50 other people it was also smooth as silk.

The game just works so damn well - and this is one of the main reasons their successful.

The best advice you can get about this game is to just try the weekend pass, then forget about it. Once you hit end game the massive grind fest and boredom sets in. Pvp is so terrible its not even funny, and Pve is so easy a caveman can do it. This game should be free to play. The game engine is terrible, with more then 20 people in a given area the lag is overwhelming, and my machine is top of the line. The community is far worse then Wow's, finding help would be equal to winning the lottery. Bioware has no idea what to do to fix this game. Stay far far away....

I couldn't agree more here. I was a beta tester and the bugs that were in beta are still live and well now. I couldn't justify giving Bioware any more money for this game, since people are still paying to play the beta. They probably needed about 3 more years to work on this game before it went live. Do yourself a favor and take the weekend pass as it is, just fun for a weekend. Instead of fun for a few weeks then pure boredom from that point on. After reaching endgame for a while the most fun I had was uninstalling the game.

Agreed - I'm still pissed because I bought 2 Deluxe editions and got extremely bored after only one month (my wife got bored by level 30) Another excellent IP wasted on a crappy game made by a company claming to be Bioware which is really Mythic/EA.

I swear - if the game was free people would complain that it wasn't free ENOUGH

A good start for me would be a full refund on my CC for both Deluxe Editions they swindled me for :)

I read the reviews on game review sites and they seem to give this game high ratings. But when I come here it's all doom and gloom. Should I even try this game or is it really that bad?

No - it's not bad - it's going to have to get A LOT better before it can be upgraded to "bad".

Same could be said about all you defending fanbois, you can quit praising a game that clearly was overhyped and lacks common features already available to any modern MMO...  Or better yet don't log on and fuel the fire!

Although I think its funny that we shouldn't hold to task any company that tries to pass of a shoody product.  Just because you choose to put your head in the sand doesn't mean I should too.

+1

"Get your head out of your ass.  Gamer's expectations are way too high now adays.  It's like a women that wants a man who is a good lover, good looking, smart, funny, has lots of money etc etc etc.....you can't have it all..."

Besides just describing me (ask my wife hehe) my expectations were not too high for SWTOR and STILL the game sucked beyond belief. I not only want my money back - I want that month of my life back.

@OP: If you're enjoying the game - don't worry about what people are saying. I personally am extremely disappointed at what EA/BW produced given the millions invested. And not only did I cancel my account - I uninstalled the game because I plan on NEVER setting foot in that piss poor excuse for an MMO ever again.

If you're not at 50 yet or perhaps don't PVP...it may take you longer to find out what I'm talking about. Please come back at a later time and post your SWTOR experience...I'll be interested to see what you think then.

Shut down the servers, fire the whole dev team, get a new publisher and go back to the drawing board. Come back and impress us when you have something that can't be described as "wow in space".

Yeah...this ^

I hadn't really thought of this but yes, you're right - we do.
This also circles back my thoughts to the original thread. There are just so many reasons that a post can be mis-interpreted.

English are smarter than Americans....discuss :)
Hahahahahaha *hide behind bush* :D

You ever seen that Monty Python video of "How to properly Hide Yourself" or something to that regards. That bush is an obvious place to hide, and will most likely be Orbital Striked by a MOD :3.

Run awwaaaaaayyyy! :)

On a more serious note, dry humour typical of the British really doesn't come across well in text form at all, especially on this forum. We kinda assume everyone knows we are being dry, but then you get the temp ban and think "oh...ok :(".

Sometimes between us it doesn't come across well, like when i text my gf calling her fat-ass. I assume she will come back with a witty response, but the reality is somewhat...different "why do you always put me down, blah blah" :D

Ya, I dont think our american cousins do well with sarasm or irony. Id imagine it doesnt help when we throw in random monty python quotes that the yanks dont recognise either.....

Ni!

I do - as long as it's not BAD British irony or sarcasm - as much is :)

You'd also be surprised at how many Python fans there are in the States. However - I've heard that the Three Stooges aren't as appreciated in Britain for the comic geniuses they were.

Also - I know Fawlty Towers was a bit more "Americanized" than other British shows - but it's still one of the funniest ever! John Cleese is simply brilliant.

Do you know they tried to make an American version of Fawlty towers.....but without Basil!?!

I do indeed - and that's all that happened for me - I heard about it :)

John Cleese WAS Fawlty Towers and any attempt to make a show without him would be silly.

MMOs mostly appeal to young people searching for an identity.

They associate very strongly (and emotionally) with their ingame avatars and with the games they choose to call home.

If you criticize a game, they (the ones that aren't too bright at least) see your comments as an attack on their very person and react violently by calling you names and by trying to discredit you.

People who love a game but are mature enough to be emotionally detached from it don't go ape sh*t when you critize their game.

Don't equate age to maturity level. Beside that, yes some people invest a part of them in the game, identify themselves with the game and it happens not only in video games.

Agreed. For example....imagine the response you'd get from this guy if you said his team sucks:

Whenever someone says you're weird for being a gamer - show them this picture. This guy would be called "cool" because of his "devotion" to football. But go to a gaming or sci-fi con and dress up like you're favorite avatar and you're a freak :)

I don't know about you - but this guy qualifies as a freak to me lol

Picture not working so I looked at your avatar, and used nerd instead of football.

No...the picture works...you don't :)

Well...since there's no way to scientifically prove my point - it's only an opinion and doesn't need to be pointed out - in my opinion.

My therapist told me it's good for me to complain on MMORPG about SWTOR - that's why I do it :)

Hating a video game this much can't be good for you.

I assume you're then going to tell me, "Well being a fanboy can't be good for you yada yada yada.".

Unsubbed to TOR a week ago and my sub is running out today, I have no plans on returning anytime soon. Now I spent my time trying to hammer a little logic onto these forums.

The irony is - I used to be a huge SWTOR fanboy and initially defended the game against attacks on these forums very early on - and then I actually played the game and got to 50 and realized I had been screwed.

Fact is - I don't "hate" the game - I'm more upset that the IP was squandered on a bad 2004-like release. I wasn't looking for the 2nd coming of SWG but I was expecting MUCH MORE for the millions spent.

I'm not alone - and this will become more evident as the months go by.
