Diablo 3: Favorite Diablo III Classes (So far!)
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/21/12 5:10:47 PM
I do solo so haven't done the wizard but of the other 4 it is
1. Demon Hunter. I am trying different things and like my turret, mark of death, and caltrops. Really curious on a melee one though with the grenades.
2. Monk. I am enjoying the monk and the teleporting fist attack way too much.
3. Barbarian. I do enjoy smashing things.
4. Witch Doctor. I knew I would not like it and still playing it did not add anything. I don't like zombie anything. I play things with zombies in it but if that is all the game is then I pass so the Witch Doctor will remain low on my totem pole. |

The Secret World: Make It Visceral Please
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/17/12 4:20:55 PM
I have to say that the sound doesn't bother me. Not saying would not be bothered by it being upgraded but I really don't notice that. The animations mean nothing to me. I don't understand the complaints and not saying they are not valid. I am just one that for me it is about the gameplay and enjoying that. I normally look at how my character looks like when standing still and the stuff out in the distance. When I am fighting then I don't notice as I look for where I am and check health bars/skills. Hope things get better for the ones who do pay attention as this is first MMO in long time that I really am enjoying. |

The Secret World: The Innovation Two-For
News Discussion « General Discussion 5/11/12 1:48:07 PM
I agree with you. I think the fun of seaching for answers has been fun. This game makes me think of the fun that I have missed with MMOs for a long time. The combat is meant to be one where as you go and advance to find what synergy you like best and use. That I might look at online to see what people say about builds but if I can avoid sites that tell me how to complete a quest over giving a hint (heard about one that says to think about who you need to talk to that is enough to give most the way to figure it out it seems) or being able to use the clues on the search. The danger I see is that the sites that give away the information will be the first things that google finds. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: v1.2 Arriving 4/12
News Discussion « General Discussion 4/11/12 1:48:14 PM
What is funny is that Bioware messed up and deployed some assests that messed up people who logged in during that time. Edit: Funny that Bioware messed it up. Sorry for anyone who is trying to get into the game that had this happen since it might mean no gaming today or installing the game again. |

Neverwinter: Cryptic's Dark Horse Rising
News Discussion « General Discussion 4/09/12 11:53:54 AM
I will have to see how they use 4th edition. I know some changes would have to be made. It did bother me to read the part "Set along the Sword Coast, and using the 4th Edition rule-set (somewhat more than catered to an MMO game if you’re asking us)" as 4th edition was explained as WotC as their attempt to turn D&D into an MMO. Since F2P then I will likely try it and hope to have fun with it. |

DC Universe Online: Legendary Membership Benefits
News Discussion « General Discussion 3/31/12 11:51:25 AM
I agree that it sounds like it is pay to win to me. Free to Play means I should be able to by stuff I want to have for my character (I bought all the DLC) because I like it. Not because I feel I need it. I wanted the costume parts I bought. I don't want to be getting boxes that I have to pay outrageous prices for that has gear in it. Depending on what the gear is on the stat side will determine a lot. If it is the same as other gear and costume parts but not requiring farming for it then I am ok with that. If it is superior gear then that sort of seals the deal with me playing the game. I play for short periods for fun. I enjoy that it is F2P as then I don't have to stay active to make it worth it. I am not really interested in PvP but I have never enjoyed a game with boxes that one has to spend money to open. |

The Secret World: The Freeform Progression System
News Discussion « General Discussion 3/22/12 9:28:01 AM
I remember when the project started and I have to say that I can't wait. I just hope it doesn't turn out like Chronicles of the Spellborn. This is the first MMO that I truly am wanting in a long time even if I am not a fan of horror. |

General: Five Truly Innovative Game Features
News Discussion « General Discussion 2/27/12 5:45:11 PM
Every quest might not be voiced out but I really like the way it is for DCUO instead of what I have heard about SWtOR. I enjoy most of what you listen to there can be done while on the move. You do have to go back at times to places but so often you are just wandering around. End game I have not experienced as I just take my time and have fun but I really like it. |

General: Four Worlds Ripe for MMO Treatment
News Discussion « General Discussion 2/16/12 7:18:03 PM
I didn't read all the comments but did see the words Shadowrun, Rifts and Pokemon plus the article said Magic which I would love to see all of them as well done MMOs but not sure if they would be. Since playing videogames and reading the books about planeswalkers then Magic does seem like it could be a lot of fun if you actually had to go and recruit creatures and learn spells and make connections with the lands. Pokemon seems like one that should be so good to do. With the ability to do battles, contests, training, breeding and all the other activities then that would be one that seems to offer so many options. Enough lands with championship battles that could actually have large events ever few months. Rifts just has so much stuff that could be used. Shadowrun is one that I am not sure how well it would work but sounds interesting with Rigging and Decking combined with bioware and cyberware with magic being alive but seems like it would be more of a heavily instanced game with potential PvP missions but still small numbers of people. |

I have many things I want to say just from being upset. Normally I don't say a thing. I know that in LoL that I will walk away from my team at times to take a few minutes to calm down. I normally want to just scream and ask "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING?". I won't say that I can't cause that in others. I do try and not use any negative words though can't say that I am 100% successful though pretty sure that I only use them on vent with my friends. The problem is that there is as much going on in reality as there is the internet. Too many people think in the "ME" sense. I have shocked people at counters for saying "Thank you and have a good day" as for them it is just what they are taught to say for the job and I just view it as common courtesy. I wave to someone and point at myself and say "my fault" when driving and do something stupid. I will also admit that I am doing badly when playing a game if necessary but unless playing a FPS with a mission of advancing and capturing points from the defense with a team of snipers then I might ask if we are all suppose to be playing snipers instead of trying to win. I do try and be good to the best of my ability and I don't try to see the internet as being a shield for me to be an @$$ that I see many do. I am too afraid of making mad the one person who goes off the deep end and hacks me to find me and hack into me with some weapon. |

League of Legends: First Impressions with Ripper X
News Discussion « General Discussion 2/08/12 4:18:54 PM
RipperX was ripped a new one by pretty lame bots. The tutorial is the best thing about starting new. It at least tells you about leveling your skills so you have your ultimate to use at the very least. The item buying was funny. I remember starting and there was no bots but did not do that horribly. It wasn't till I got in some matches with pre-made opponents that I looked that bad. |

I haven't touched SW:tOR and probably won't. I have given up on MMOs that look like typical MMOs. I loved DAoC and enjoyed that game. I still hold as my best MMO experience overall as EQ. I never got past 33 on that game as I played on friends PCs as I didn't have one but I could watch them and the fact that they would camp spawns for a piece of gear and it last them a week+ made it awesome. I seem to play more FPS now than RPG because the massive multi-player experience is more satisfying to me in a FPS over RPG because I feel no accomplishment in most RPGs. Of the MMORPGs I have bought in last 5 years, FFXIV is only one that catches my attention and I have fun with. And I know how much hate that game has gotten but I actually feel like I was having to try in that game. |

I really enjoy it but for where the gift cards come from. I pass on the Taco Bell (rather make tacos at home and up away from computer for that hour at max) and rather have Amazon. Now days though I find a way to use any gift card that isn't food online if I need to. Get with the times and realize the gift cards can work. There are even ways to trade them with other people without ever leaving your computer to get what you want. Still greatly enjoyed the article except for that part where I felt like I was reading back when gift cards just started showing up. |

I agree with most except wizards and dragons. Wizards would make great enemies and dragons would be great at ruling giant cities and working for I think. I really enjoyed the article. |

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning: Come for PvP, Stay for WAAAGH!
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/24/11 4:11:21 PM
I wanted this game to succeed but did not expect it with only 2 factions. They might have accomplished improvements but not worth my money when I quit during PvP where I could not see anything from the lag and finally catch up to be losing health rapidly being in middle of enemy army or already dead. It was funny to a degree but so many were having the issue because so many of us that it just ended all my desire to play. Hope it finds enough people to continue but would much rather see a DAoC 2 released. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Smuggler Impressions
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/20/11 7:33:06 PM
I am glad that you believe that. I will not fault anyone for liking it or thinking it is the best. I look at it and read and see nothing that appeals to me enough to pay for. The Secret World and Guild Wars 2 have things that interest me. TERA has some concepts that appeal to me. SWtOR gameplay ruins any chance that I want to see the story. I don't want to pay for that story. I would not have commented if the writer had said that must not like Star Wars if don't get sucked in by the story. I am sorry but the gameplay is part of the story. The movies show how many of the fights were crucial to the story. Are those parts scripted out as welll? I will admit that the written story parts are likely some of the best ever done but what about the play parts? That is where the story is a let down to me. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Smuggler Impressions
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/20/11 4:41:45 PM
I like fun. I look at this game and see yet another MMO game that just doesn't feel like Star Wars to me. Trying to remember all the gadgets used in the movies since it is said that I must not like Star Wars. Trying to remember in anything I read about people spraying a cloud of bacta to keep people fighting. Guess I am just so lost. I wanted to read through and see if anything appealed to me since this is only class that did but still saw nothing. This is a game that might be the greatest but will never see me. The story might be nice but it looks like most other MMOs out there except it has a Star Wars skin. I guess I expected more than just story advancements when I thought of Star Wars. |

World of Warcraft: The Modern WoW Player
News Discussion « General Discussion 10/10/11 3:48:12 PM
I enjoy hard mode. I might not always play it on every game but I enjoy the challenge. I think that it is one of those that if it is to see the content then have no problem that all of it is available to be experienced in some way. I have to say that I am one that I would just enjoy seeing three versions of raids when going into them with it being "casual", "hardcore", and "elitist". Give them different rewards is fine as well if necessary. |
