I agree, I do not beleive that P2P models are the down fall of MMORPGs, i think its the lack of innovation and change that is killing the new ones, There just hasent been a truely new MMO and thats why people quit...
AOC is an exeption to the non new remark it's "Failing" Due to its botchy release and lost promises

Whoever their 3d animators is needs to realize that when walking, the movement of the upper body is different than that of when running or strafing. Currently the animation looks shoddy and under worked. Though i understand that this is a beta video. core animations such as this rarely change with lower budget games.... *Faith -3* That is all i got from that video.
I could go on to say... Yes they have nice "Raytraceing" effects on the armor very shiny, but they need to hire a new enviornment Texture mapper. A lot of the trees just look like they threw a texture on it without even UVW unwraping it. A lot of these trees (allbeit low poly) are also poorly done.. Again i realise this is beta this is something that can be fixed. (but will it?)
But i would expect more from a game that has been in development for how long? another *Faith -3*
The American market is hard to please. look at Warhammer. Good work in my opinion. But even with the mounds of polish it gets ragged on for little issues. The same with W.o.W, Tabula Rasa, C.o.H and many other major games. All games with phenominal amounts of detail work.
With the amount of problems i can see from just a simple screen shot and a few seconds of video. Beta or not. This game will have issues... its quite obvious.. and slated for a release date within this year? that leaves 3 months of perfection work. Lets be realistic now can we..
(just my thoughts) and please remember i am entitled to my own opinion... even if its more logical than yours

Other: Music/Enviornment i think the music and enviornment mapping + Atmospheric elements like Ambiance make this game really impressive. |

Aion is not "Another Korean Grinder", i don't understand why people tend to associate Nice graphics with Korean grinder... i mean seriously... also. I have noticed a trend of people just labeling NCsoft as an "A.K.G" Company... Look at C.O.H (Cryptic/NCsoft) Guild Wars (Arenanet/NCsoft) Auto Assault (NCsoft) Tabula Rasa (NCsoft/Richard Garret) i mean don't just assume everything will be like their last... yes.. i understand that lineage 2 was pretty and was a hardcore grinder. Yes and i agree that it is. But that does not mean that One game Will Dictate the actions of the entire company. Give Aion a look. there are many sites that say Aion is not one of the same.... I just want people to Try and look Before Discrediting... Aion might truly be an experience.. Beyond what the current MMO market is producing...

honestly why is it anyones problem if i like apples that fell of the tree .. while you like bananas that you bought from the store just becuse you bought it dosent nesseacarly make it better.. (though there is a great chance that it will be) just becuse a game is free dosent make it impossible to be somewhat enjoyable (Watch me Stradlle the fence)! |

Rather harsh don't you think? yea ill admit a free game normally doesn't come up to par with a large Scale Released project but.. people have their own Preferances. i cant say i agree with them.. (im sorry Runescape lovers) Runescape for example. it is the worst thing i have ever seen in my exsistance on this earth. but.. there are many many users who still cherish the thing as if it is a god send. why? its beyond me but it is their choice to (im sorry again) waste there time on something that has little chance of showing improvment. That overall would have to be my biggest take on the free MMO Envionment if you dont mind that its probably going to be buggy. or not get updated often or with quality. then sure you may find it fun. But for use Seasoned MMO players if the world dosent change or dosent get better. it gets dull. so i understand why you may not like free mmos... but to each their own! they all have a right to like what they want. (i hope some one else agrees) (again im sorry runescape players. for more ways than you can possibly imagine) |

Well hello all,
its been a while since ive played... (about a year to be exact) but i have kept up with the updates (COP and TAU) so i dont think im going to be missing much in the time i have been gone i have seen that alot of things have changed and i wanted to ask for any tips for a player starting out again. i had my level 40 and my level 30 classes. but things where different then than they were now so i wanted to know if there is any perk or something that i should look out for to make this transition nicely ive decided to move from Ramuh and go to Ifrit to join my friends. my former linkshell broke up over the time i was gone. so i had nothing to come back to. im planning on makeing a Redmage/Whitemage and after i get that up i want to work on somthing of a Ranger/nin or Thief/nin im not sure... i eagerly await a responce ^_^ |

Part of me is saying that if they had only put 1 big file up for you to download you would be whining about that as well.wow.. your an ass. For one thing. i have a very fast connection. So id much prefer One large file that i could download quickly form multiple Sources Rather than try to get this game from a million different people in a million different ways because as i have noticed even the Official links are rather retarded. they fail using accelerators and even with out the accelerator it dies on the 96% line. and I'm not very fond of Trying to download 1/9 parts 3 hours at a time (Official link time in) Thats just stupid and in my opinion not worth it... I am however going to try to torrent it to see if i have any better luck than with the FTP transfer. (i hate Torrenting but they leave very little choice) And please Watch your big ass ego... Not Everyone is Inferior to you. Don't Try to teach me anything for one i already know how the internet works. And on another note It was completely off topic i was fuming about the download and in there i was asking if anyone had a compiled EXE i could download. Please don't bother replying. i would like help. not to be shot down. unlike some.. (cough) i don't have to make people look stupid to make myself look smart. Again if anyone has a compiled Client they would like to Share. Please do |

now, the thing is. i go to download the game... and i have to download it in 9 parts and theres no way around it... 9, 300MB files.. thats some GARBAGE!!! why the hell do i need to download it from you guys in bits and peices??? they are freaking dumb or i could torrent... 9 files and take about 3 weeks with that junk! They are idiots... makes me loose faith in them just a lil.. if they cant even manage a reasonable way to download the CB client....
(if anyone has a better way to download this client... by all means post it here) God if i wasent so hyped about this game.. i would drop it right now |
