Things Guild Wars 2 has that you might not know about
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 9/04/11 10:30:50 AM
Can we have a link to where they said there will be personal housing? It would be great if they added it but I don't quite believe it. |

I've gotten to the point where I don't bother arguing with people about aspects of GW2. I like everything in the game, I know for sure it's what I like, I'm not going to be let down. Then they argue and say it happened to all these other games and everything the developers say is just to make hype. All I can say is sorry your expectations for those games were so high, but I like what I've seen from the game, there's nothing that will disappoint me.
It really all comes down to personal preference. I know people hate seeing this but it makes sense:
You don't like it? Then it's not the game for you, find something else that'll suit your interests. |

Originally posted by stevebmbsqd Wait a minute, so now if it was experienced, but only a little it doesn't count? We could use the example of visiting a country you used earlier and say that you only took a tour with a tourguide through that place. Even though it was "limited" you still experienced it and got a pretty good idea of what it's like.
But anyway, when you've played a game, even a demo, you pretty much know how it plays and what to expect from it. Even from watching videos you can tell how it's like. I don't get where your going with this "know" stuff, but it seems like you think they're just showing us something that really isn't. However, this is a big budget game with amazing people behind it, I'm 99.99% sure it's going to turn out how it is in the demos and what they say it is. |

I've always wanted to try this game but I never wanted to pay a sub fee. Now it seems I get my chance! |

[Poll] Do you like the Engineer because it's sans-magic?
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 6/01/11 9:04:29 PM
The engineer reminded me of the game Arcanum. It's pretty much a steampunk game where it's a fantasy world but it's beginning to have an industrial revolution and people are moving from the old magical ways to the new mechanical.
So the engineer reminds me of the struggle in that game between magic and technology where one can prove to be just as good as the other but people like to push for new things. So yes I agree with the op that the engineer doesn't use magic. It's the profession pushing for change away from the old ways of magic.
I will play an engineer, but for one of my alts. I'm a magic/mystic guy at heart so I'll definitely play those types a lot, but it's always nice to try something new and completely different from everything else (really really different!). I only worry about how really different it is. At this moment I can't picture it in the GW world with all of the other profs and races, I have to wait for the next demo to see it. (and I can't wait) |

I wasn't expecting Anet to be #1 but I was expecting like top 3 or something. Anyway, congrats for them, this really shows them the support the mmo community is giving them! |

Good for GW2! I excited for both it and SWTOR, but GW2 seems a bit more exciting. I just hope that people who voted for GW2 don't have such high hopes that when some expectations weren't met with exactly as they were thinking they freak out. GW2 really does seem to deserve the hype it's getting, but lets not get out of hand. It's gonna be good, but it's not going to be the perfect, wow killing MMO some think it will be. |

Guild Wars 2 I Love You! |

The #1 reason I got interested was because it's the sequal to one of my favorite games. It already sounds like it's going to be way better than the first one (which I originally thought would be impossible). |

Originally posted by ComfyChair I take it for granted too. When I try other MMO's and find that their servers are down or they have very few updates, I realize that Anet is really different from these other companies. Also, I'm sure that GW2 update times and downtimes will be about the same as it was in GW1. |

Character slots. What do YOU think a fair starting number would be?
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 11/23/10 3:00:01 PM
I feel that they should have 5. One for each race I guess. 8 would be way better but I'd be content with 5. Any less and I wouldn't be too happy... |

Originally posted by Reizlanzer I didn't think about it that way. That puts my question out of the way. What I really wanna see though, is how many traits there will be, and how in depth it will actually go. |

I wonder if certain kinds of weapon types will produce new skills. Like, will a rarer type of axe do some different skills than a noobish one? |
