2 hours to go
In 120mins they wanted to open the gates for everyone that hasnt seen Firefall for now.
The Developers really spend a lot of work into it and in my book it deserves some more hype.
There is a big party upcoming in Copa tonight.
Its tab-targeting like its in WoW, skills, toolbars, oldschool.
What MMO are you currently playing, and why?

The reason why i uninstalled Wildstar after only 3 minutes is, it wont let me jump over the rim.
Ofcause there was a big "GET TO MEEEH" exclamation mark just 40m ahead, but i wanted to jump down, just because i(!) can.
Well, in Wildstar i could not, but in ArcheAge i can do whatever i want just from lvl1.
Quests in ArcheAge are done, because sooooo many people like quests and guided adventures - handholding.
They give good XP, but nearly everything you do in ArcheAge gives decent XP, so maybe you want to checkout a different aproach in the next beta and create a char that only does, what YOU want.
So, what would YOU like to do ?
We always said, lvl30 it opens up.
That is, because it needs about 30-50 level to get a clue, what a effing big chunk of options is in this game.

I think its a matter of your personal preferences, what in the end you look up for.
I agree to some of what you said, but im in closed alpha for some months already and may have had a different aproach to the game, so ill judge it slightly different then you.
For example, the quests, i barely have done quests for the last months, but thats because i dont like quests at all and as you said already, the quests in AA are just there to be done, what you forgot to mention or could not experience yourself was, that quests in AA only make a small part of the game. Its like a component, an option you can do.
Its meant to get up to max level in short time.
You saw the gameworld as hub for quests, but its not.
There is plenty reasons to return to your starting area wit your max level.
AA needs you to open your mind for what YOU wanna do next.
I cannot share your points when it comes to the gameworld and grafix as i think, its the best we have actually.
Have you tried to find tree's to chop down ? Or mined nodes or gathered anything that could be used for your crafting ?
Proof me wrong when it comes to a world with nearly no zoning or borders where you have a whole ocean to explore hidden islands or treasures in the deep, where you can fly a glider, have a galleon with cannons and radar, have a complete playercrafted market, the list is endless.
Nevetheless im as well full of critics, especially since the 1.2 patch, were Trion has all hands full to do to make XL building the Trion changes into the game.
Character creation is a religion for some people.
For me its just that and i dont care too mutch about being fat or tall, but i share the opinion about "cheapness" on every corner.
On the other hand, there is so many more corners then in any game i have touched ever (30 years active computing here).
The combat system shares the cheapness as well but is also only a part of the game and to be honest, for me its good enuff to have fun and the feeling i can master my own skills on that system.
After all it is a asian grinder, but for my taste it delivers best for my preferences because i live freedom of choice and i prefer grinding over "kill this, kill that" and even there you have extra hidden quests.
At all, a lot is hidden in ArcheAge and i doubt you can judge the game right in 3 hrs.
But yeah, we dont need hours to feel if we like something, or not.

ArcheAge has its downsides for sure, but you managed to not even get a single showstopper listed here, instead you wrote ... well, that ^^
So in conclusion i would say, you are clueless :)
I hope we gonna get the beta patch to the Alpha server this coming week.
No idea if they start the Closed Beta then as well or a week later when the patch hasnt shown bigger problems.
Then it should not be too far to the open beta weekends and i dont expect that to be that long ...
It is true, that ArcheAge is pretty optimized and delivers good quality on low end machines.
Its the best thing for me, thats playable out there actually.
Still, after about 2 months total playtime, its very fun.
ArcheAge for sure has its weak spots, but we in the Alpha still play on a elder build and awaiting the Trion tuned 1.0 .
Not mutch to add, becuz i wanna login now :p

Yeah, whats left beside ArcheAge ?
Black Dessert Online is the only seamless world i heared about, i mean, no zoning, no "playfields" but .. no water, no diving, treasure hunting, no ocean, no Pirates .. where is the scum in BDO ?
Promising ideas but .. not more yet then ideas.
The other games seem to be an instanced zonefest.
Nothing left beside ArcheAge, everything else is just not there yet ..

ArcheAge isnt a game, its a virtual reality.

The Closed Beta wont last long, more a matter of days then weeks i'd say.
That is, because they announced the Beta for June - next month - also with open Beta Weekends.
I feel for launch .. errm Open Beta in August ...
The game will launch in English first, other languages like German and French are added on the process.
EU and NA will get servers.
Just saw another "oh my Wildstar is soo hyping" thread and thought "maan, my AA is crawling up constantly".
Its just worth to mention, that AA surpassed titles like Wildstar, Black Dessert and Repop and the reason is, because it delivers.
We all have the chioce, to hype for ideas that maybe come together in a game anyhow - EQN a solid example - or we hype on what is there already, pretty good working in a game to play, not just good ideas ...
That might be the cause for the steady hype.
People are tiered of promises, anouncements and predictions.
Games should deliver and ArcheAge delivers best.
Give it a go when its available for everyone in the West, its worth it !
Interested in an rp labeled server in ArcheAge come vote!

I never understood the difference between the role i play in onlinegames and the roleplay in onlinegames.
I still think, the moment i log in and people call me "raw", im inchar so "in the role of my char" and when i act in the game, i act in my role in my char ... the role i wanna play.
Now, that i read something in faction chat, i saw people roleplaying "your mom is too big for my eyes" so i thought, what role might that have been ?!
I think you want a RPG server to avoid such role playing people, am i right ?
Well, for the RPG in ArcheAge .. you know, im member of Navarchy.
We are the Nuian Expeditionary Forces and when we meet the "your mom is too big for my eyes" roleplayers, we gonna have 1st class RPG action combat to defend Nuian citizens and stuff.
I love roleplaying ^^
What exacly do you think will be different on a RPG flagged server ?
I agree, Allods is a beautiful game, had a lot fun playing it, but GPot completely ruined it.
Good to hear its back to its developers ^^
Im only playing some weeks and what i saw from PvP was fun.
Ofcause you can expect to get ganked by times but im under the impression that its about kowledge.
The more you know about the whole picture, the better you and char is in PvP.
The challenge is the knowledge about the synergies between the skillsets, about the right armor stats and what all the skills can do to you and what you can do to counter them.
That will keep me busy for some time i bet... ^^
