General: D&D 4th Edition - Learning from MMOs
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/20/08 12:30:24 PM
That is why I like the virtual game table. You have all the tools you need to play a focused, story-driven campaign with a DM and players. MMOs haven't been able to foster this environment so Wizards is being smart with their online offering. |

I've played closed beta since it started. The PVP is a ton of fun. Don't listen to that nut. |

Will pet classes be gimped in PvP like most pet classes in MMOs? A super-duper pet is great but not of much use when your enemy ignores it and directly attacks you. |

They extended the closed beta which ended on the 17th. Now they are shut down to make many much needed changes and enhancements to the game. They've never announced any sort of date for open beta or release. |

I've always had a good time with Dungeon Runners. |

My friend met her husband in World of Warcraft. They were guildmates and are now happily married, expecting their first child even. |

Whew there are so many MMOs in development. This one sounds pretty good. Hopefully they can get a good product out. The more sci-fi choices out there the better. |

They add stuff for non-subs as well like the upcoming rank/perk system. FSS has stumbled but they have remained involved with the community throughout and continue to improve the game a good pace. |

Everything can be soloed though some of the elite nightmare levels and stonehenge areas work better with a group. I've never been able to successfully solo The Wild. Or at least not in a way that is worth doing. The atmosphere is bleak all the time. If you read the books you'll understand it better. The demons have destroyed and burned everything. |

That fairy on the main page makes me want to play the game |

I've been playing since release and still enjoy the game. A 7.0 is a good rating. Not really a great game but still good fun. |

I play Dungeon Runners, Hellgate: London, Exteel, Mythos and Requiem. And I love them all. But that does nothing for you because chances are we don't have the same gaming preferences. Tell us what you enjoy and we can match you to the correct game. |

Korean mmo gamers love Lineage and....Hellgate: London?

Hellgate is da bomb and the version they are launching with is much better than the version we launched with. |

Like most F2P games it is fun for a day, maybe a week, then the grind starts to get to you. If you have the stamina for such things then go for it. I found it boring after awhile. |

But surely one must exist...right?
