Anytime I would miss a tower drop and land outside of the tower.  Eventually that stopped happening, but while learning I would oftentimes land next to the enemy all alone.

Neither.  I've jumped on early MMO purchases before only to be left with a pile of crap.  I'll wait until after release and see how player response to the games is.

The ticket system for NA is so much better then overseas.  Hella cheap for us.

fiontar is right, the game was much better before the drastic NGEesque changes to the game.  It used to be a pretty good family MMO, now it just okay.

They are a bunch of dead or dying games, but still a cheap price.

Looks and sounds great, but hard to believe a console MMO will satisfy PC gamers.  Having to deal with console limitations when you are on a PC isn't acceptable.

They'll probably do aim assist for console players in an attempt to level the playing field.

Dragon Age 2 happened.....

One of the main issues that I had with the EA store (and gamestop.com) and probably will also have with this new origin service is the "download protection" service.

They charge you $5 to keep your game for an aditional 6 or 18 months beyond the original 6 month purchase retention. That means if you dont pay that extra $5 you lose access to your game after the period ends.

D2D and Steam both sell you the game, and retain your game forever with no additional charges, fees, etc. Its $5 so its not really that big a deal. However, its nickle and diming you. Regardless of if you pay that $5 they have to keep the content on their server for other customers. I bought ONE game from EA store saw this fee, contacted support complained, and haven't been back since.

Unless they change that policy I strongly doubt origin will be able to compete with steam or d2d in the long run.

They stopped doing that a long time ago.  I can still download games I bought years ago and I never paid an additional fee for that.  I've bought many games from them over the years and I can download them whenever I want.

Installed and ready to go!

I loved the game, but the subscription model was poor.  This isn't an MMO so paying a full MMO price for a co-op game was a turn off.

And the Elite vs. Non-Elite, Subscriber vs. Non-Subscriber split up the community so much.  So annoying.

The buggy launched also sucked.

If you see 'Your courage has been noted' then your account is approved for closed beta.  You don't need a key or anything.

I care!  I can't wait to jump back into Hellgate again!

This CBT is just to stress test the servers before open beta.  The game isn't in a development cycle, its been out for years.  If you didn't get it I wouldn't sweat it.  Open beta will be really soon.

I am sooo happy!  I put over 400 hours into the original version.  Yes there were crazy players like me who really loved the game.  I hope they changed the elite/nonelite and difficulty level split.  I know they've changed the who subs vs. non-subs split so that's good.  Hellgate was so frustrating because it seemed to do everything it could to keep players away from each other.

This isn't suprising.  I never bought the game after beta.  I maxxed out 2 characters during beta and though it was a fun game, I saw no reason to pay monthly for it.  Very simple and very easy.

EDIT: Oops forgot about NDA, can't wait until they drop the NDA :(

It is the miracle patch at last!

Green Lantern as a mentor for sure.  Having him as a mentor doesn't dictate your character's powerset at all so it doesn't mess with canon.

now i also wonder lets say i create my hero would i be able to go out and fight lex luthor or the joker and fight along side with superman and or batman or do they get to fight their enemies?

You will fight alongside or against a variety of heroes and villians that make up the DC universe.

I tried it a while back for an hour or so. It's probably changed since then and I remember liking it.

1.) Is there any competative aspect to the game besides scoreboards? (PvP? Raids? ect..)

2.) I really like games with cool items/loot with cool stats (Like diablo/WoW) If I were to become a dungeon player, is the loot system cool or is it very simplistic? Like are there ultra rare items? Upgrade system? (Like +1 +2 or enchantments)

3.) I'm able to be every single class correct and level them? Thats what I remember.

4.) Has the cash shop changed at all? Is it still VERY optional or did they add stuff to give you an edge in gameplay?

1) You can do duels with other players.  There are community PvP events from time to time, but no real structured PvP content.  You can also compete in Soccer, Pirate Plunder and Kart Racing if you like.  The TCG has tournaments every few hours which are really fun if you like the TCG.

2) The loot system is more focused on style and colors then it is on stats.  You can get a full set of upper level gear by running the hardest dungeons a handful of times.  After that it is all about collecting colors and different types of clothing.  There are not ultra-rare items or an upgrade system really, but there is a treasure wheel that you can spin at the end of a dungeon or mini-game for a chance to win a piece of equipment.

Getting a full set of "end-game" gear is a maddeningly time-consuming grind that provides no benefit over the previous tier beyond how it looks.

3) The Pet Trainer job has been removed.  Players who already leveled the job were allowed to keep the job at the level they were when the job was removed.  Otherwise yes you can level any job and switch to them whenever you want.

4) The cash shop is entirely optional still.  There is a ton of stuff to buy, but none of it is necessary to progress in the game.

Pretty much all they do these days is add items to the cash shop.  I haven't seen a non-event (summer fest, halloween, etc.) update in a very long time.  I don't think they are planning on adding any new content to the game.  It has been in a holding patter for quite awhile now.

Free Realms is a fun game if you are looking for a casual, mini-game focused shared world.  It is a good place to goof around in, but don't expect it to replace a real MMO.

I don't regret the time I put in and I have enjoyed spending time with my guildmates in FR.  Once you level all your jobs and finish your collectoins you are done though and I did that a long, long time ago.  I log in to play the TCG from time to time and occasionally run around the world or do dungeons.  I have the lifetime membership.

Yeah I didn't pre-order.  The initial invites sent out were for people who signed up for beta back in the day.  Pre-order invites haven't been sent out yet, but I'd imagine they will be sent out soon.
