Here's hoping it's a blast.

Beta starts at noon PST, 3pm EST (I'm in EST and can't wait).

Please read, it's explained clearly.

You have to have an ACTIVE SUBSCRIPTION.  Coming back on a trial is not an active subscription.  If you think you can come back for 7 days for FREE then have them give you 30 MORE for FREE, you're just stupid.

AND YES! I know they moved it from the 24th to the 25th.  A little research never hurt.

Condescension, Ad hominem attacks, and  ancient internet memes... You're quite the game representative.

I really loved Shadow Bane but made the horrible mistake of joining Ebonlore in that game. A villainous hive of scum.

Don't buy gold from gold sellers.

Gold sellers are just the supply side of the problem. It's because of demand that they exist.

This.

Gold sellers exist because there is a market for them. As long as people are willing to buy it, there will be people to sell it.

Except you need to buy expansions for full box price every now and then and considering you will either need to use the CS or torture yourself.

I notice you refuse to address what items one would "need" to purchase in the GW2 cash shop even though you assert they exsist. Any chance you'll have the integrity to back this up with facts or should we all pretend that you never made this comment? Honestly, all you have to do is link one mandatory item and you win the internet, I wonder why that will never happen?

http://www.guildwars2guru.com/forum/cash-shop-items-leak-t32319.html

Crafting boost, exp boost, rare drops boost!

Why would anyone need those items? Am I prevented from crafting, obtaining exp, or getting rare drops without those items? No, not one of those items are required to play the game, not one. Now, go ahead and link the mandatory items. The items that make the game unplayable through their absence. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Edit:

Let me make this easy for you since you seem to confuse convenience for necessity. I need a car to get to work. I would like a porsche. I could trade in my lexus and $30,000 and get the car I want, but I'm not going to waste 30k on something I don't need and quite frankly, it's not  "torture" to not have something I don't need.

Love the double standards in this thread:

Buying a LTS for TSW? You lose your way to voice dissatisfaction!

Pre-purchase GW2? You're supporting the company!

Cash shop in TSW? Must be pay to win!

Cash shop in GW2? Anet would never put in something giving an unfair advantage!

GW2 LTS? $60

TSW LTS? $250

Stay hypocritical, fanboys.

Fixed it for you.

Dream on :J

GW2 has no subscription fees. So the box price is basically a lifetime subscription. :)

Except you need to buy expansions for full box price every now and then and considering you will either need to use the CS or torture yourself.

You tell us the exact name of the item that users need to purchase from the cash shop. Name just one item that will universally be considered mandatory.

the woman is annoying, not very pretty and makes money off of you drooling over her made up persona.. If you saw her IRL you wouldn't look twice. I have seen her in person and was dumbfounded when I found out she was so desired by gamers.. also she makes us REAL female gamers look bad... but I will say one thing.. she isn't near as bad as Kaeyi or Pico(sp?)

Wow, there's a lot of misgynistic vitriol here simply because you don't like the way others feel about her. Honestly, you need to take a hard look in the mirror and ask yourself why your feel so much hatred and loathing for a person that has really done you no harm. She's just another person trying to make it through life the best way she can and I really think your snide nastiness could be directed at a better source.

Your posts might be taken more seriously Matt if 99% of them, going back months now, weren't anti-SWTOR.  You seem to have something negative to say in every post on these focus going back to at least November.

Might have to point out this from the rules of conduct for this site

Trolling

  • Posting excessive negative comments or baiting others to respond in a negative manner is considered trolling on the MMORPG.com forums.
For example: If there is one game that you did not enjoy, voicing your opinion is encouraged. Posting this opinion in every thread concerning that game to the point that it disrupts all other conversation is not tolerated.

I was going to say the same thing, but DanitaKusor just beat me to it.

For everyone playing at home, OP is claiming that for MONTHS he's been bashing SWTOR every chance he gets, yet he resubs?

I call dog doodoo....

Sad grab at attention is sad...

I think it's interesting that you're impugning the integrity of other posters while posting such obvious lies like yesterdays patch was "perfect" and "flawless" (your exact words).

I personally tend to play the MMO's where the majority isn't. Whats the name of that game with the most players again?

I personally tend to only eat grass while other people are eating pizza. I'm pretty hard core and 3dgy too.

Just check out the official forums before believing the Op's lies.

Really america? Really? A video game company is worse than scumbags who use robo signing to steal houses and any excuses to screw over account holders for thousands of dollars is better than some video game company that screwed up star wars and the ending to ME3? This is why noone takes us seriously as a country.

Pointless thread complaining about other pointless threads... or a bad joke, cant tell really.

I felt the exact same way about the thread I read yesterday asking "How do I win at GW 2?".

AoC first and foremost. SWToR runs  a close second.

Herein lies the issue of trying to force empathy from sociopaths. You can no more teach a sociopath compassion and decency than you could teach a dog differential calculus. They completely lack the internal tools to process it. People are just causing themselves needless frustration trying to argue the indecency of encouraging harassment against the mentally ill with people that are to broken on a fundamental level to care about anyone beyond the superficial "you may be of use to me, so I'll be less of an asshole to you".. Look at how they excuse him "he was drunk and it slipped out" Really? Was he spontaneously preparing slides during his presentation? Of course we have the rules lawyers saying"it doesn't count because he wasn't in the game" out of one side of their mouth while claiming "its not cyber bullying because he only gave the guys in game name". That's an interesting bit of cognitive dissonance. The bottom line is someone used their official position at a corporate sponsored event to call for the harassment of a mentally ill man simply for their own lulz and then him and his supporters try to weasel their way out of it by blaming alcohol. While tho fundamental truth is easy for people with a sense of decency to grasp, you will never be able to change the thinking of people who cannot fathom how another person may feel.

To be honest, I lack this particular difficulty of separating reality from fantasy. My avatar is not me, it's computer pixels that I choose because I find them pleasing to the eye. It is not some magic cosmic representation of my chi or something. Games are just that, they're not some revelation about my inner being.

Permanent death is a relic that stayed with us from the coin popping arcade days.  The idea was death was going to get us to spend more quarters and maximize profits of the arcade owner.  It is by no means a fun game concept.  You can make games that make you feel as shitty about dying without resorting to permanent death.

So many people want permanent death until they die.  Then suddenly they are punching in walls

What game with permadeath did people die and start punching the walls?  How does that game compare to this one and why would they end with people punching walls?

What previous MMOs had permadeath, because people keep talking about them but I don't know any to compare things to.

I know, right. I wonder if we'll get an answer? Someone had mentioned playing one, maybe they'll tell us. Heaven and Earth?

NWN on AOL (the Stormfront studios version, not Bioware's.). The Triboar arena to be specific.

Oddly enough, I've played a MMORPG that did have permadeath. Your character and all of your posessions were gone if you died, period. No recovery, no heirs, nothing, until you rerolled (usually as a gnome, gnome deathmatch FTW). If permadeath was done in the same way (It was an arena that could only be reached by consent of both parties) then that would be just fine.

There are roughly 50 million people that play Farmville. Exactly .00001% of that gaming population would support this game. How could we think permadeath is a niche? We've all been fools, such prudent, sensible fools.

Well theres one thing I do know, any one whos loves PVP will be saying good by Swtor and hello GW2.

This might be one of the least informed posts on hereYou are saying people are going to quit SWTOR and sit around waiting for a few months for GW2?  Over a few minor PVP changes?  Yeah, right.  I will say this much, GW2 is going to have far more bugs and issues than any fanboy could ever anticipate.  Right now, that game is just a list of features, and nothing more.

So, SWTOR from 2011 with fully working features in the game, or GW2 which comes after the halfway mark in 2012 and has untold bugs and issues?  Hmm...

LOL, irony thy name is Souldrainer.

Are you going to make an actual statement, or just point a finger and call it a day?

Sorry, thought you would be able to figure out what I was getting at by the highlighting. I'll put it real simple for you since you don't seem to understand. You imply you are in a position to judge who is informed, then you go on about unrealistic fanboys, then you claim SWTOR is "fully working". Bioware themselves refute your assertions. They admit the poorly implemented features like the auction house, poor grouping tools, a lack of guild tools, and the poor implementation of Ilum. I'm not sure how much simpler you need this to be put to understand.
