well i got bored of an mmo i have been playin for nearly 8 years and some cool guy refered me to darkfall in my thread http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/3433277/thread/271853#3433277 so i was wondering if anyone had any startin tips for me? and from what i can see darkfall is somewhat like age of conan in the way guilds can build their own fortresses (guildhalls) or am i wrong? (looked that way from the few youtube videos i watched)
thanks in advance |

i recently stoped playing a 2d mmo called tibia. tibia had no lvl cap and to gain levels you had to pve grind grind grind. while gaining levels you advanced in character skill (like sword atk, distence fighting, magic level), how fast a certain skill went up depended on your class (knight, sorcerer, druid or pally). it's also open pvp, the higher level you got the more fun it was to pvp. i and most other people generally pve'd to get a level etc to later pvp. what made the pvp (why i kept playing the game) so interesting for me was when you died you lost some exp (you could go down a level or 2) and you could loose some eq on top of that. the battles could be 1 v 1 or big open-field guild battles like 30 v 30 etc. there was a huge emphasis on reputation (through level, pvp and rare items etc). the community was also great until they introduced character transfers from server to server. through pvp you could hunt people off servers/guilds could hunt other guilds off the servers and force massive server wars ..annnway all the new updates made the game go down-hill for me so now i'm looking for a new game to play and a few of my friends went from tibia to Aion and Lineage II. if you had to choose to play either one of these games which would it be? and why would you choose it over the other game? or according to my description of Tibia would you suggest any other mmos?
thanks in advance m8s!! xd

i was wondering if anyone has ever found any games like a 2d game called tibia? i'm trying to search for a game that was like old school tibia because the updates have ruined the game for me since i started playing in 2003. i generally played it because of its pvp but it's pve lvling/quest side was also nice, even though the game was so addictive it has been by far the best game i've played from its release until it's final demise :p the things i enoyed most about the game and that i would be looking for in a new game would be the leveling and skill system - because there was no level or skill capacity there was great competition to be the best/highest on the server/in the game. the pvp side of the game was also why i played it so much (great guild v guild wars etc) a powerful guilds/people could control the hunting areas and the whole server. lastly the community on each server and throughout the game was immense. at any one time there could be from 200~900 people on a server, so the small numners made it easy to know who was playing the server etc anyone know any similar games? :) cmon people i need a new mmo to play! thanks in advance :D |

i'm kinda looking for a game with a nice leveling system (the lvling through tibia was pve but the pvp aspect was even more fun once you got to a nice lvl), i enoyied tibia because there was great competition on every server to be the highest lvl with the best character skills etc also the pvp was immense, knowning you could kill someone and make them loose some of their exp was a nice touch lastly the community on every server was amazing. from any time there could be from 200 to 900 people on one server and because the numbers were so small it made the game even better thanks in advance :D |

totally agree with the thread starter and even more so with the guy above me. i've been playing this game since 2003 when it was actually an amazing game, allthough sadly the same can not be said nowadays. updates have pushed all the old school players away and now it's my turn. anyone know any games that come close to old school tibia? :) |
