You're right, but they have to know this won't be accepted in the western market. Some players are even trying to get the game re-rated from Teen to Mature due to Cryptic's sudden fascination with 'gambling' - and they're right to call it that, because this is nothing short of gambling. If ANYONE needed to pick their reputation up it's Cryptic, but apparantly they don't care about the bad press they're receiving.

Cryptic are really getting a name for themselves. Many of those messages announcing someone winning a Galor were for people who didn't actually win anything, or hadn't logged in for months in order to give the impression of better odds of winning (this was completely intentional of course, not a 'bug' as they'll have you believe). Cryptic are pretty much the most unethical and dodgy MMO developers out there.

Bought this on steam and am really disappointed at this so-called 'MMO'. It's very simplistic and shallow and ultimately becomes very repetitive. The ground combat is hilariously terrible and I find the constant C-Store whoring by Cryptic distasteful for a subscription game.

First Cryptic game I've played, most like the last if they keep pumping out games like these, which seems to be their business model.

What I want to know is where on earth these spamming and phishing 'ggots got my email from. I'm REALLY careful about only giving my main email address to legit sites but it ALWAYS seems to end up on some spam email list, eventually. Annoys the hell outta me.

To OP: yes codemasters manage the game in europe - unfortunately, this means that all the nice additions like my.lotro.com and the iphone app aren't available for european customers, since CM won't allow us this.

You are unemployed, yet here you are on the internet...

Perhaps if you actually took the time to prioritize what you need to survive and what you don't, you would have an easier time scraping by on the taxpayer's dime.

Saying you would be screwed is not true, you just are not willing to go without certain things, even though you cannot rightfully afford them (as clearly evidenced by your own admission).

 

The ONLY extra a pay for is Internet and its the cheapest plan I could get.  Incase you haven't been keeping with the times, most job searches are online now (not to mention I have to file for my unemployment every week online).  So you tell me, which of my other bills should I cut off so I can take a minimum wage job? water?  car?  Insurance? electricity?  gas?  Phone? Rent?  Because besides those bills, the only bill I have is for my Internet.   Internet I consider a required bill as I still have much I must do on it, even being unemployed.  As to the game, I played a game I got for FREE and played for a month for FREE.

In defense of the guy, I would actually call internet access a fairly important service these days, especially when job seeking. Internet access can be really cheap - depending where you live - and many companies recruit via online ads.

Holy crap. I've had two temporary bans and a warning already. I've never had a ban, never mind a warning from ANY other game site. 

It's possibly because I call a bad game, a bad game but when a game deserves praise I'm first to give it.

I'm pretty disappointed in mmorpg.com TBH, the censorship is bordering on outrageous.

Ugh, this is exactly the attitude that causes companies to release half-finished, half-assed games. Money is tight for a lot of people these days and I'm glad we're getting these reviews letting us know if it's worth it.

 As much as I dislike this game for it's 'borrowed' mechanics from other games, I hope their forthcoming F2P model works out for them.

 It's a shame goons are effectively out of the game. They provided some of most entertaining content this game has ever seen.

And what's left now? IT Alliance, the most boring and pretentious dullards you could ever meet. Eve's golden age is now over imo.

This is so well said. I too am sick of this industry pumping out crappy, unfinished games.

 I'm interested in this too, I'm sick of being a second class citizen compared to the US guys

 I've still not bought this POS and doubt I'll buy another IW title again. Played it on a friends PS3 and wasn't impressed. 

TF2 is a thousand times better than this.
