After playing Dragon Age for a couple hours, it truly is an awesome game.

My original point was that we have not seen ads for other single player blockbuster games here at MMORPG.  Maybe we'll see more soon as there are some big games that have recently released and more to be released soon.  Borderlands, GTA4:BoGT, L4D2, MW2, etc etc.

In the end, the US dollar will still be green no matter how you get it.

Yes, I'm sure lots of members here are interested in RPGs.

However in the five + years I've been visiting this site, I think this is the first non-MMO game advertisement I've seen here.

So why is the advertisement all over  MMORPG.com?

 Get to the choppa!

I just got a key from one of the sites listed in the announcement.  Patching now, wewt!

I haven't played since beta, so I'm not sure how much has changed.  With the settings cranked up, the game didn't look too bad, but it was FAR from smooth.  Hell, even on LOW the game was FAR from smooth.  Animations just seemed a bit out of whack and city lag was horrible.

Also, most of the Male character faces looked a bit too caveman-ish, no matter what.

Cosmetics aside, I had fun playing up to Sector 3, most of it solo.

Many people forget that WoW's launch was far from perfect.  There was about a 15 second "lag" whenever you would loot something.  Existed in Open Beta, and wasn't fixed until after launch.  Amongst all the other issues, WoW turned out ok.

Love the pic.  Good call on saving it, most people don't even think of those things.

Sad to hear some galaxies are near their end.  I hate to be harsh, but the few people still playing on those extremely under-populated servers will hopefully transfer to the same server.  If not, in another six months, we'll see more servers closing.

When populated, it actually is a fun game.  Put aside the whole CU and NGE.  Its still Star Wars, and who wouldn't like to roleplay a storm trooper or a jedi every now and then.  Being able to do it with a bunch of other people is a must, as its no fun in an empty canteena.

Here's up close shots of the pets:

Good for team based PvP.  SM's have a root spell that rocks, and a couple slow spells.  Root and slow while your team and pet focus DPS on one player at a time.

I'm not guilded, but a smart team using voice chat could really lay waste to most pickup groups.

1v1 is a different story.  Like Sorcs, SM's have paper armor.  A small damage shield is the only defense buff I had at level 18, which usually disappears after a couple hits.  After that, toast.

In PvE, I hide behind my pet.  It works and is quite a bit of fun when you get a couple adds, throw down a root and a slow, kite around and nuke down one mob at a time.  Pop a potion or use a spell to transfer health to the pet.  Aside from Mana being slow, its not so bad if you have some low level mana potions.

OK here's a couple questions

Was this your first time running Vanguard?  If no, when was the last time you were able to launch the game properly?

What OS are you running?

What kind of sound card do you have?

Have you tried renaming the file X:\Program Files\Sony\Vanguard\bin\vgclient.ini?  This file contains system settings, and the game will re-generate this file upon launch.

Maybe QQ, just wondering why this info wasn't even posted by GMs until 6PM today.  I heard about the Fileplanet keys, but didn't bother to go because I thought I was IN the beta already.

Oh and the FP keys are gone.

So I was in the last couple betas for Aion.  Was psyched to test again this weekend.

I get home from work, launch the game, enter my user & pass.....and get a popup message saying

This account does not have access to Aion

I login to PlayNC account management, see that Aion is listed.  Login to the BETA forums, yep still have access there too.

I submit a ticket to support, and just got a message from a GM saying that my account had access to the first to betas, but my key "expired" and the only way I can get a beta key is to preorder the game.

I'm sorry, but forcing testers to BUY a game to TEST is ridiculous.  Its really a shame, since I was looking forward to Aion, but these tactics are bad business.

So, those of you who have played all the classes, which one is your favorite?

Least favorite?

And Why?

Thats huge news.  I wonder if Mark Jacobs left on his own or was let go.

Guess these forums don't like the Chrome browser...

I just opened up Station Launcher and Vanguard was highlighted as playable. I subbed to Vanguard at launch and cancelled shortly after.

After checking my account, Vanguard is active until 7/1/09.

Any old players, check your account for a free month+

Hi Res textures will come later.

Remember that even during the LotRO beta, Hi-Res textures weren't available until release, or shortly before.

Depends on the game I guess.

I prefer Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360.

Still wondering which version of Left4Dead I should grab.  Torn between PC and Xbox360.  In the end, I tell myself I probably wouldn't play it that much anyway, so I just decide not to get either verison.
