I've had my 3 eve online accounts for 5 years, and have played SQO for 3 months.
so i feel i'm qualified to make comparisons.
SQO with eve online's market, financial, graphics and Wardec systems would rock.
EVE online with SQO's navigation(punch in destination system or galactic coords instead of gates), first person depth and combat system would rock.
CCP is working on walking in stations now, imagine being able to walk around on a titan.
with 300 of your friends as crew.
each game has it's good points and it's bad points.
you can't bash eve for being ships instead of people because that's what it is, and with 50k+ online most nights i'd say it's working.
SQO, lets face it. although i think it rocks it still needs a lot of work to be eve online caliber.

if you are independant of the alliance you can count on not being able to get needed supplies from the games only source.
also access to basic game objects can be denied by a system that can be player controlled.
allowing your enjoyment to be denied by other players.
I've played EVE online, and even under the most agressive blobs there is still a chance, slim as it may be, to get any object in the game because the NPC's cant be turned hostile to you by players.
