Why the hate you ask, because it is usually implemeted badly, and you end up tab targetting the wrong mob more often than not. I think it was rift that drove me insane with tab targetting always dragging other mobs into fight because it was so inept at selecting closest enemy. I think when tab targetting is implemented well, you dont notice it, but when its bad its horrific and possibly the sole reason for global warming. Its just one of those basics that should be done well, unfotunately it isnt. |

Originally posted by Loke666 Im usually with you on bad internet security ( im paranoid about internet security, always use the on screen keyboard to log on), but i had a curious incident yesterday with gw2. I had run my internet security plus spy bot and anti malware, before playing GW2. All clear no probs. So i played for a few hours, logged off shut down computer went to bed. so i wake up about 8 hours later start up the comp and run my pre playing security routine. You wouldnt believe it i found a trojan that steals passwords among other things. Now I know gw2 had problems with trading post and account asecurity at the start, thats why it was always down, poeple had accounts comprimised through the trading post. The only way that trojan could of possibly got in by my reckoning was during my gameplay on gw2. I caught the trojan in time nothing was comprimised, but it makes you think how does this happen. I was always of the opinion you get hacked or you buy gold from sellers and your account is comprimised its your fault. I also never "trusted", i did nothing wrong i got hacked people aswell. This incident has opened my eyes. Any suggestions how this happened? I can only think TP still has issues. Also make sure you guys run scans after playing gw2 to be sure. Cheers P.S. Yesterday before the patch I swapped 3 gold for 1000 gems. After patch 1 gold was getting only 200 gems. So you need to watch the market to get best gems deals. It is quite reasonable to do it the right way. eg not buying from sellers |

What's with the pathetically large download on installing the game!
General Discussion « Guild Wars 2 9/03/12 2:46:33 AM
LMAO children of today, now they complain because the developers have been actively patching game since launch, causing large update first time installed. Dumfounded. On the other hand im really happy how these guys have been attacking problems so far. GJ Anet, now make it so i can acess TP :)

So currently cant play the game, i have contacted support, but so has everyone else on forums. Im assuming they never got an answer, some people have been waiting 4 days for an answer on this. Im hoping someone here has had this problem and has had it fixed. |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: On Regional Restrictions & SWTOR

Originally posted by CityHam Hey CityHam I live in Australia one of the most gorgeous and liveable countries in the world, guess what, we are also in the red zone. We have no dodgy govt rerstrictions, or a people renowned for gold selling or internet scams. So dont be too harsh on your country, be harsh on EA. I dont believe for one second bioware had a hand in this.
I have been screwed before by EA because I live in Australia, the only explanation i can think why they didnt do it here is the ping. For some reasons Americans think 250 ms - 300ms ping is unplayable, guess what, Americans are wrong about something again. Aussies have played with yanks on yank servers since mmos started, and we have kicked their asses with that so called disadvantage of 250 to 300 ms ping (its bad ping if your on dial up, not so bad on cable ADSl 2+). For a non based twitch game eg MMO the ping is fine and every other mmo company has never had a problem with it. It all boils down to EA asshattery.
Also while im ranting, on a side note, there are 1,000's of posts on SWTOR official forums Aussies complaining about been screwed. Yet they are still pre ordering from Amazon.com. Way to show them whinge and buy the product anyway, Justifying EA's stand that they dont have to provide any customer support or satisfaction for us dumb Aussies, for us to go buy their product. Which if it happens to not work (not likely but there is always one) you will get no product support because you are in a red zone. SIGH screw it lets swap countries :P CityHam |

I didnt say you couldnt get the game i said i cant pre order in Australia, apparenlty we are poxy 3rd world country. :P I would be happy to be in OP shoes. I also believe EA/Bioware stated there will be no customer/technical support for people outside the initial release areas. Not that anything should go wrong but if it does your on your own. Old Murphys law and all . |

Wow i nearly felt sorry for you OP then i remembered, I live in Australia i cant even friggen pre order poor you, with no announcement on any timeline when the game will be released in Aus, whispers are saying 12 monhs time. So yea wanna trade places.... thought so. |

As much as i enjoyed rift i think the poor end game that caused the majority of quitters, is too big a issue to give rift MMO of the year. |

Why do THEMEPARK MMORPGs need Levels?!?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 12/07/11 5:38:52 PM
Because MMO's largely are based on RPGs, RPGs have always had levels and will for the foreseeable future. I accept it becuase thats what the genre is based on, if i didn't, i would move on to another genre that suited my tastes more. |

General: The No Elves Manifesto
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 12/07/11 4:50:14 PM
I dont dislike elves but i think they have been watered down into pussies. From my DnD days i always thought of elves as tall slender extremely hot arrogant assehats who had no peer in magic use or archery. They knew they were hot and could melt your brain with a look. They tolerated other races, because they were not evil they just knew they were atop the pecking order. What we get today as elves is just indicative of mmos today boring unimaginative, copies or clones of each other, god forbid they have a skill or attribute that wasnt fair or balanced for a magic user, who were stupid enough to pick a magic using class that wasnt an elf. I blame WOW and all its clones for this, also the whiney kids who have to have balance because they put no thought into picking a race that suits their class. |

Do you think SWTOR would have made a better off-line game ( poll )

What are your thoughts after playing the BETA? (Poll)
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 12/03/11 1:24:46 AM
7/10 alot better than what i thought it would be. Lost points for me when i saw the trooper and BH are mirror's they were the only 2 classes i wanted to play. Story is fun *SPOILER ALERT* as BH i really felt like i wanted to kill Talos Blood in front of his kids at christmas time if i ever caught up with him. Started to get on my nerves he did. Haven't felt like that in an mmo for a long time. Solid game but plenty to tweak and improve could be a classic, if they work on it. |

The Secret World: Can It Be True?
News & Features Discussion « General Discussion 12/03/11 1:11:11 AM
Originally posted by Teknique Not entirely correct the Warcraft RTS series at the time was massive and had a massive following even by todays standards. These fans alone guaranteed a huge initial sales head start for WOW. Think if they made a starcraft MMO, thats the sort of fanbase they had for warcraft RTS series, when they made WOW.
Only way to know if a game is overhyped, get on the many betas games have these days and find out for yourself.

Yes you should try rift. It was fun especially if you do exploring try find all the cairns or get quirky achiievements like Dancing with Squirrels. I found Rift in a guild of friends very enjoyable, but we really like going out and finding achievements. Combat is the same as other mmos except with rifts which are fun, but old by end game. Also end game is very much like every other game out there. In fact we stopped playing after 6 monhs because end game was too much same old same old. All in all though it was an absolute blast getting to end game, if you like the grind of end game then it may be a long term game for you. hope you try it and enjoy as much as we did. |
