It would become a game should rares be extremely hard to get and pwn, but that would bring up a whole new argument around certain players not being able to experience all of the content...blah, blah, blah. I have a cat and two dogs in RL, tamed these from the wilds in a zone called the pound. Don't need to be feeding any other animals, virtual or not. :) |

My experiences with the community during beta were good. Of course open beta was similiar to barrens chat, but what can you expect with a free open beta. To all the trolls that played open beta and did not purchase the game, thanks! Thank you for helping test a game I like so it can have a successful release. :) |

On the lighter side, mage elementalist summoning animation
General Discussion « Rift 2/12/11 1:20:29 PM
During last beta I started running through various builds for the callings. I always play a male character, however this time I may roll a female mage after seeing the male elementalist summoning animation. It is definitely geared for a female toon, pole dancing like animation?.?. Is it just me being shallow and I'm the only one that thinks the animation is a bit on the light-footed side for a male toon or does anyone else see what I'm talking about? I would love to see the meeting where the devs were reviewing this and said 'sure, go with that one.' Just a thread on the less heavy side for grins. |

Whatever Rift may be similiar to, I was surprised by how entertaining beta play was. It was fun, I like the lore thus far and enjoy the game play. I'm a casual player and do appreciate some familiar pieces in the game with some refreshing approaches. |

How different from WoW do you have to be in order not to be labeled a "Wow-Clone"?

My opinion, Blizz is testing the waters for console play, nothing new by any means. Their latest vague statement concerning their next MMO being different and the current WoW game engine not being flexible enough to handle the direction they want to take, my interpretation - "We're expanding to consoles". Dumb down the talent tree, spells, flatten menus, what works with a xBox/PS3 controller... It's numbers, not current subs, but projected subs by extending the product to consoles. More platforms, bigger audience, more MONIES!!! They are a stock based company and therfore the marching orders are SHARE HOLDERS, CUSTOMERS, then EMPLOYEES. Their share holders demand a certain level of growth from the company, pure and simple. This is why I do not 'dicuss', 'debate', 'troll' or whatever word you may use for pointing out the failings of a game- they have enough money to get the right people in play to produce a product consumers want. If I'm not entertained, they don't get my money. Let them figure out why I quit along with my friends. I'm not paying a company to play their product and also help develop it- trying to remember the last "Hey thanks for being a customer for 4 years...." from Blizzard. Nevah. There are plenty of other products out there to entertain me and gladly take my money :) Like I said, my opinion. |

Until Rift is no longer entertaining, then I will move on. I can see myself coming back to the game should it prove to provide content updates that are enjoyable. Still kind of hard to tell though, this game is still in beta. NO ONE has seen the release yet. |

Looking forward to the soul system as well. The choices are interesting and I like the fexibility to either build a good set of souls or a crappy set that will get my avatar pwn'd in PvP or by those pest brownies in the rifts. Discovery is part of the fun. |
